He went to one of the top military academies in the world, and he studied Middle Eastern political sciences in one of the top US schools, and so, he understands the western mentality. He is one of the few leaders in the region that can see the place were Arabs and Israelis can find a medium solution that satisfies both parties.

King Abdullah is an apostate ruler. He has completely betrayed the Muslims. He is in bed with America as Millions of us are being killed for cheap oil. This is an eye-opening/mind-opening discussion towards future possibilities. Predicting the future is very tricky and very much probabilistic rather than being deterministic.

Brainstorming future scenarios is very helpful, but the more we go into the future, the more "wilder" options rise.

Am from Jordan, and I think that was a very logic speech from his majesty, yes the core of crisis in this part of the world is the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. Jordan is not a substitutional country and the palestanian themselves realize that and they also refuse it.

@hassankalaldeh I really think that King Abdullah is an intelligent person. But he is a little naive if he thinks that the threat from Iran will dissapear if the Israeli-Palestinian conflict would be solved. By supporting Hezbollah and Hamas, Iran is obviously taking part in the conflict itself!

He could have been more forthcoming by pointing out that Israeli society is largely anti compromise and that is very much reflected in the Israeli parliament where anti peace parties hold a majority of 2:1. Then he failed to remind his audience that one of the reasons for Iran's drive to acquire nuclear weapons is that Israel has had them for almost 40 years and Iran is concerned about Israel's hegemony.

Some of the things he says make sense but he certainly does not reflect public sentiment in Jordan when speaking about the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. This is a common problem with Arab politicians when speaking in English to a largely Western audience. They try to appear even handed and moderate at the expense of remind their audience of root cause of the conflict which is the creation of Israel at the expense of the Palestinian people.

I am a jordanian...I have been making my mind back and forth about king abdullah...everytime I hear him talking I believe he is a good person...the problem is that what's happening in Jordan is a bit different than what he is saying...His majesty noted that at the end, the people around him are not helping...I think that's the reason behind the difference...the king is surrounded by a bunch of corrupts who he cannot replace easily...especially with the lack of parties...may god help him!
