  • Whats your delay setting BPM and Milseconds

    Thanks

  • sounds great, but I was napping to your album and this track gave me weird dreams and made me wake up, but it was good

  • lol I was listening to my ambient songs I made and I forgot I clicked on this video and as im doing my homework I'm thinking " WOW I really sound good!" and then I look to see which song it was and im like " wow.....lol this is andrew's song isnt it?"

  • sounds like hammock

  • What band are you in dude?

  • this sounds like your swimming in bubble tea.

  • For some reason Nirvana tribute bands brought me here!

Thank you Nirvana tribute bands! :)

  • Sounds like you're having some latency problems...lots of little clicks going on throughout. Other than that sounds amazing

  • What's the first chord you play? It sounds awesome.

  • should i be getting reverb and delay before it reaches the volume pedal, then loop that?? I have a RV-5, dd20, dl4, and a volume pedal on the way.

  • Hey Andrew, just wanted to drop by to say I through some money your way for these Ambient Songs. I have been listening to them on Youtube since you started posting them, and decided that you deserved some money for all the hard work you have put in to giving us this amazing music. These songs and the Lowercase Noises stuff has been the soundtrack to my homework, and has helped immensely. Even though I am a poor college student living off almost nothing, I loved giving you some money. Respect man

  • very very nice dude. every time i see a video like yours it makes me want to write like this more and more. im now convinced.

  • someones car horn went off in my street during this, and it being dull through the window, worked so well with this, I nearly commented asking how you did it. then took headphones off to realise.

  • Really nice, u have a myspace?

  • What do you use to make the drum sounds on your cd's? Thanks!

  • umm... I hate how this sounds good, but sounds like the back track to that Celine Dion song that goes on forever and was in Titanic... it's like.... how can it sound this good, but sound similar to that crap....

  • @DepthWave i think this is a compliment? thanks?

  • @tubescreamer

I guess what I'm saying is... the instrumental is so good, that it could make Celine Dion sound good.... :P

  • @tubescreamer

    right on, say what?

Anywho, this is righteous stuff right here...

  • How much delay have you dialed in? You don't hear the repeats at all. And at 1:19 - how's your POG settings?

As you can tell, I'm really a big fan of your sounds and videos. Thanks.

  • I don't know if you do covers or not, could you do "Live Forever" by MOBY please please that song should be awesome for you to do. Maybe a stupid question but have you listened to "Snowball" by Moby?? I love his music as I do yours

  • Great sounds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • How important is running stereo to achieving this style and tone?

  • That was really killer!!!

  • Amazing. So musical - it's like a one man orchestra! Love it. How did you learn to play this way? Is it just experimentation/trial and error with pedals and sounds and simple techniques? Do you know of any lessons youtube or otherwise on how to do it?

  • If there would be drums on the closing part, this would be really epic. Just my opinion.

  • @rokomichi funny you should say that!

  • @tubescreamer Persistence<3

  • @rokomichi was thinking the same thing! I hear drums taking it over the edge.

  • inspiring!

  • How do you get the sound you use for the first bit with the VP and that? Be awesome if you could send me on my way to finding out? Would really appreciate it

  • @richardpearlmasters It's mostly the Micro POG which only has the upper octave dialed in. So everything I play is an octave up. Plus delay and reverb.

  • @tubescreamer Ah that's great! Thanks for commenting back to me :)

  • could you do a video explaining the micro pog? i cant find any good videos surprisingly, if not thanks anyway ur an inspiration!!

  • Hi, could i ask what camera you're using to film the performance? Thanks.

  • @jallstars Hey, I use a Flip Ultra HD.

  • Congratulations sir, you made me doze off listening to this

I tip my sleeping cap to you

  • If we could take a picture of your brain with and MRI machine I'm pretty sure we would see shining, glowing and blinding light.

    This is, just, beautiful.

Oh, and the MRI would explode.

  • hey dude are you using ernie ball volume pedal right? is that a 500k stereo/pan volume?

  • @bienbibnito no, it's the regular mono VP Jr.

  • Are you using a DMP3 in this?

  • yngwie can piss all over that

  • I have that PGS amp. It's great but I wonder how it sounds next to a deville.

  • @stul9045 i think you should be more concerned how well it sounds next to that cheiftain!

  • @ZamoXC No plroblem with that. I have a top hat supreme 16 also.

  • Wow, this is beautiful. Love it!

  • wow i almost forgot thankfully your youtube name reminded me of a very special pedal i forgot to mention i had...lol the IBANEZ TUBESCREAMER Lol

  • @tubescreamer yo I absolutely love your sounds and I've done some pretty good ambient songs...but I just started recording...anyway I have the RV-5 dd, the ernieball jr volume pedal, the line 6 dl-4, the boss dd-7, boss tuner, god 2 morpheus, and the fulltone fulldrive 2 non-mosfet. SOOO u use the pog pedal...how is that pedal, cause every video i look at they're always talking about dry tone comparison and sub harmonix but i thought it was a harmonix pedal for high pitch sounds what does it do?

  • This is what heaven sounds like.

  • Sounds killer! What's the red amp? A Texas red blues jr?

  • @melven62 It's the PGS limited blues jr III, has a vintage 30 in it. It's awesome.

  • @tubescreamer

Is it really that good, even with a Matchless next to it? I used to a have a blues jr (stock black tolex) that was just alright but this sounds killer. I love your tones and playing. I currently have an AC15 which I love but this would be cool, maybe even to run both in stereo. Also hows the elcapistan? It looks cool. I have a DD-5 and a DMM but I think the Strymon would be the icing on the cake.

  • Out of your opinion, which was better for your style of playing the Line 6 Dl4 or the Eventide Timefactor??

  • WOW, you've got a Matchless now, I love you ! (sorry I didn't see before recent videos)

  • Hi there, great tone you have there. Just a quick question, why did you decide for the micropog instead of the POG2?

  • Love the tone, great stuff man!

  • any chance we could get a demo of your new Matchless?

  • micropog comes on and its like mmmmmmmm

  • hey andrew ! Could u tell me how u set the micro pog at 1:14 ? thanks a lot

  • Wow. So cool!

  • Is any of this track pre recorded as you play over it? Or is all the sound literally just your live guitar??

  • @Atlantisbanduk All my guitar, nothing pre recorded.

  • @tubescreamer That is amazing, I want to take my guitar to the next level. I have a few pedals already but what do you suggest I get to improve my ambience?

    I have:

    RE 20 Space echo

    DD 3

    NS 2

    TU 3

    Line 6 DL4

  • @Atlantisbanduk a reverb would be good.

  • @tubescreamer hey =)

is there any limit of how many loops you can have going at the same time ?

  • Is all the sound in this video coming from your guitar live? Or are there any parts you've recorded before or after too?

  • Check out explosions in the sky or Ascend the hill... they have awesome ambient swells...

  • out of curiosity How much is improvised and how much is preplanned?

This style lends it self to creative play

i like the idea of no performance or recording of something ever being the same...

  • @gannonsamuel It is roughly planned out, but not completely. I just kinda go with it.

  • @tubescreamer i used to love playing about with sounds like this, when i had a solid state amp with built in effects, when i was about 13. i got my self a valve amp less than a year ago. but since then havent been able to afford any decent effects. i love delay, but ive had to simple do without it as the pedal alone is a quarter of what my amp cost me. love your music though, thanks for uploading this inspiring sound

  • How do you have the amps set up? Lots of treble? Edge of breakup? I have a hot rod deluxe and use the efx loop, but would like to upgrade amps and run stuff into the front end.

  • very good! what fx are you using at the beginning of the video?

    Thanks for this great moment!

  • What do you do for living?

  • Where do you get these ambient sounding chords? Do you just make them up?

  • Andrew...love your pieces and this new one too...nice to see that you are performing as well/ cheers.

  • Ah man this sounds so good. When you adjust that pog; it's like heaven for my ears!

  • Hey man, just one more question, do you get good sustain on Diamond Compressor? I am currently use BOSS cs3 and I really don't like what it does to the tone.

  • @lihenow I've recently got rid of my CS-3 for the same reason. It just didn't sound right somehow and I couldn't find a setting that made much difference with it. I know compression is quite a subjective 'effect' but I find that I'm much happier with my new Rothwell Love Squeeze. I don't know how it stacks up against a Diamond compressor, but it certainly beat a lot of other high end pedals in the same price bracket. May be worth a look.

  • @Andikay987 Thanks for the suggestion!!! I am trying to find the difference between Rothewell and Diamond, it seems Diamond is more quite..

  • how do you like el capistan compared with the memory man , i already have a dd5 but need some analog sound in my board .

    by the way ... awesome!

  • Great sound man. I am just kinda start to shape my sound. I use a Mexico Fender, do you think is it a big difference to American Fender? Do you use the clean channel in your amp? Do you think EH Memory Man is way better than sound in DL4? Sorry about two many questions. Thanks in Adavance!!!!!!!!!!!

  • When you decided to make the switch to the Diamond Compressor, what other compressor pedals were in the ruinning for you and why ultimatley did the Diamond win you over? Are you a lot happier with it's overall effect on your sound than the Keeley compressor's?

  • Very good to hear that you are getting really good use of the Strymon Tape Echo Pedal. I like the Fixed mode B best myself. It's a little softer and the repeats aren't as pingy, More smeared. Try comparing if you haven't yet.

  • What happened to the Timefactor? Are you taking a look at the new Strymon Timeline?

  • @improvisation07 Timefactor is in need of repair. I don't feel any desire for the Timeline at this point.

  • una buona notte a chi ci crede. E se hai bisogno di un testo, non c'hai capito un cazzo

  • Stretch to this music.

  • Where do you learn all these chords and shapes?

  • I think you should record an alternative "Blade Runner" soundtrack. Your music is outstanding!

  • 0.0

  • Hey Andy,

That sounds wonderful. Do you use the El Capistan in mode A or B? Single, fixed or Multi?

Do you have any of the El Capistan's reverb mixed in there or just the delay?

    Nice visiting your page today.

    Kristine

  • @KristineLivingston Hi Kristine, I believe I was in Single mode B. And there wasn't any of the reverb mixed in.

  • This is simply amazing.

What are you using for the long trails?

  • Cool work !

  • Something about this piece leads me to believe that you're certainly going to be getting a lot of attention from labels someday

  • @LemonTartProductions I would not be opposed!

  • nice tones.

  • ...So good.

  • Always a great sound and feel!!!

  • Great now I have to clean up all my drool off the floor! Thanks Alot... ;0)

  • what reverb type are you using on the blue sky? I have a wet reverb and I'm looking for a reverb to go along with it and I'm going between the blue sky and rv-5. Does the modulate on the blue sky compare to the rv-5 well?

  • @chanc3d I think he's using the plate mode on the blue sky, it allows for the long trails which when added with the modulate on the RV-5 causes it to give it that cavern sound.

  • @chanc3d I used the plate mode. The modulate on the RV-5 is way better.

  • Not even the bumerang looper?. Sounds great by the way

  • There are few things that can totally relieve all my stress. Your music is one of them.

  • @ProdigyKimXP That's great to hear... thanks for listening!

  • This sounds amazing! Simple as that!

  • someone needs a strymon endorsement!!

  • @JOHNGIFTED I would not be opposed.

  • @JOHNGIFTED yeah no lie hes gettin me to buy one

  • i will get this sound or die trying. giving you credit of course if i use it in any of my music. thank you, this is beautiful.

  • fantastic man, great sound!!!

  • very hammock style,,, nice man!

  • i'd love to know which pedal (or combination of pedals) is primarily responsible for the trailing cave-esque reverb effect? as always, amazingly beautiful stuff.

  • @whitespace73 I'm pretty sure it's his strymon blue sky reverb

  • @whitespace73 im guessing but probably a combo of the strymon blue sky reverb, strymon el capistan, and boss rv-5

  • If we could hear the Angels sing in Heaven it would be this song.

  • Heaven? Yes it is

  • Have you removed the Timefactor?

  • I fucking love this one

  • Great stuff, as always, my friend.

  • This is one of my favorite btw

  • some intense harmonics going on there

  • The Strymon Blue Sky is a sick pedal !

  • 1:18 The tone!!!

  • @mattaio26 totally agree sounds too god damn nice

  • great work

  • What pedals were you using in this one?

  • @kevdog330 just look at his guitar rig vids...

  • beautiful as always. very reminiscent of your older stuff. loved it.

  • Holy shit.

  • Secondly, I think you're proving the new pedalboard here, as well.

  • thanks for this ear candy !

  • Great stuff dude, where did the looper end up going?

  • Great job Andy. Love it. I just traded my POG 2, now I'm thinking about getting a Micro Pog! lol You rock. Love it.

  • no looper needed!

thank you for sharing your lovely music with us :)

  • Man I love love how clear your swells are. I guess part of that is your compressor, right?

  • You're a huge inspiration for my guitar playing. Always pushing the limits of what a guitar can sound like.

Please don't ever stop creating these gorgeous atmospheres.

  • @greggsovereasy Thanks man!

  • That's really nice.

  • Amazing. Thanks for these videos

  • beautiful! i know you had an ac30 a while ago, you just prefer the blues jnr and the matchless?

  • @muggle911 yeah.

  • The soundtrack to my homework. Thanks for keeping me calm brother :)

  • I'm sure this would be a lot of work but very well liked if you did a sort of step by step to create good tones. A pedal how to, just basic things like that. Thanks for constantly having amazing videos, you're music is beautiful.
