Such a shame that a historical town in Scotland should be associated with the scum of the earth like,the donnells,gillespies,and all the other scumbags who have made headlines for ALL The wrong reasons,shame really.

I remember a fort or castle not far from the cross. it had a draw bridge, and the police

used it, until they moved into the old Camphill school premises. AM I correct in saying this, as i am think it was demolised along with the paisley theatre so that a

indoor shopping centre could be built, over the river cart.

Yes, the county buildings, burgh buildings, police office and prison were grouped together and demolished to make way for the Piazza. Google 'paisley prison' for a couple of pictures.

I recently passed through on my way to the airport after having visited family near by and i was deeply saddened and very angry with what i saw, pedestrianization was an act of unspeakable stupidity that has left many parts to rot and fester and essentially killed of a buzzing wee town and brought a great deal of shame and embarrassment, just who are the bright sparks in the local council that allowed this current disgrace, someone must be held to account.

The basic reason is that the council collects a rates bonanza from Braehead shopping centre.

Its a shame because i was up paisley town today and the amount of junkies and neds is a fucking disgrace its terrible the more shops that shut the more junkies sit at the cenotaph.

when you think that paisley used to be the 6th richest place in the world... However, i think there are plans to give paisley a 4str hotel and other things. :)
