They lost the opportunity to idependence and we won the war (If we had lost ther would be a second Holocaust). In 2000 there were negotiations for a final settlemenet. Yasser Arafat refused again.

Israeli's do not necessarily want a wall. HOWEVER, one must do what they must do to prevent the slaughter of innocent CIVILIANS who in the arab mindset is just as legitimate a target as the soldiers. I just got back from there as well--my heart goes out to the Christians and Israel is not against them.

I agree with you. I did not address the Palistinian issue. They are a subjegated underclass relagated to "black jobs" in Isreal....but they do not care to improve. These checkpoints not actually for Israeli security. If they were they would be located on the border with Israel and not within the occupied Palestinian territory.

There are innocent civilians suffering on both sides. I look forward to a new Israel without the occupation and a Palestine without the need to resist occupation.

@eliezer017 Yes Palestinians do have the right to pass from Bethlehem to Jerusalem. East Jerusalem and Bethlehem are both within the Israeli occupied Palestinian West Bank.

Perhaps you would like to research further "the Green Line".

You ask what did israel do. well, if you have to ask, then you don't know history. how about occupied palestine for 41 years, confiscated land from palestinians to build settlements on them, and isolated the palestinians in Gaza and the west bank. Ooh by the way, this little tiny dot has the fifth largest military in the world as well as a nice arsenal of nuclear weapons compliment of the us.
