i think when cas realised the angels wouldnt understand what freedom was, he shoulda just made up rules like:

#1. You cant mess with the human world

#2. You're free to do as you please in heaven as long as it doesnt distrub the other inhabitants

#3. No deals with demons

something like that. Then there would be order in heaven, angels would have been happy and less willing to bring on the apocalypse (maybe), they'd still have their freedom, and our baby would be happy right now :'(
