Ian Bostridge & this song were made for each other, beautiful version of this traditional song, There really are some lovely versions on youtube, my favourite John Shirley- Quirk.
Excellent diction. Very important in English, which is not the easiest language to sing. Also, beautiful tenor voice and fine accompanist! I'm favoriting this one!
I think you will find it less than peaceful; because there will be crowd of swooning females along with you--- trampling the wildflowers and making such a lot of noise with their sighing (!)
I'm trying out for All-State Choir with this! Wish me luck!

This is my lad -- I would wander through Shropshire with him, and quote Housman very softly...

Lovely version. Ian Bostridge is also a pretty high powered academic - doctorate in social history of witchcraft ! Also very, very tall.

Really does it justice. I seem to remember Ian Partridge recording a similarly effective rendition.
