@TheLionfan44 Typically Siberian male tiger can weight up to 320kg and in length up to 330cm and African male lion 225kg and in length up to 250cm, there is a big difference. Obviously these to animals would never encounter each other, but i think Siberian tiger would dominate because of the size. Pretty sure lion wouldnt be in fighting skills any better either, both being cats after all.

@KoKaTa I don't recall a region in the world where tigers and lions share a single habitat, besides a zoo or an animal sanctuary. Captive animal behavior can't be used to conclude anything that might occur in the wild. We will never know for sure how a tiger/lion encounter will be like in the wild. I say it depends on many factors. Obviously a tiger will avoid an encounter with a larger lion, but will it still be the same if the tiger was larger?

....it`s not quite so simple. some animals are quite hesitant to fight, while others readily do so, and still more may wish to decline battle......i know all about this. notice, however, that it took the tiger hours to work up the courage to confront his 'rival'. it is much easier to get lions to attack, according to both schaller and packer, however, by that same token dave salmoni has indicated the lion can, without much accord, be stopped 'fairly' easily.

..the people were not in the enclosure when the tiger can to inspect. they only came back later to check the 'fake' tiger. if they had been anywhere near the tiger when he believed his territory to be in danger, they would have been attacked, and possibly killed. it does not take much for a tiger to spot, or otherwise detect a hiding human.
