Either you've played the SNES version, which is a completely different game - or it's because i'm playing on the hardest difficulty, which changes the boss AI.
Seriously, ACE. Start. Saving. Your. Flickery. Videos. At. 20. Frames. Per. Second. For me? D: Aside from Explose Hornneck (whose wings have exactly three frames of animation at 60 FPS, go figure), it worked wonders for my Rockman X3 boss run!
"A good game is a hard game"? That's strange logic. Besides, what about Lego Star Wars?
And I wasn't insisting that a hard game is hating the community. A game that's frustrating, irritating, and deeply unfair, however? That's not a product of love.
Painstakingly stupid, is what the Lego series is. It's for the casual gamer, not the gaming community.
Hm, now let's see here...oh, right. You just described most side scrollers on their harder difficulty. Or didn't you play many side scrollers from the SNES/G generation?
Casual gamers are part of the gaming community. Or do "gamer" and "gaming" describe two different things (no they don't, by the way)?
So, what, a good game is one that makes you want to break your console in half with your bare hands and throttle the makers with your controller cord? Man. How many controllers must you get through in a month?
Let's see here. A "gamer" is one who plays games more than just causally, and "gaming" is the act of playing a game. Yes, they describe two totally different things, assuming you can use correct logic.
Casual gamers are part of the gaming community, from a certain point of view. That being they play games at the most minimum level, every once in a while. They are not "gamers", they are "someone who plays games casually".
Sparkster on Very Hard is NOT for the casual gamer. Ka'pish?
Hm, either someone has an online dictionary up, or they're not using their head. There are 3 types of gamers, "Casual", "Professional" and "Gamer". Casual gamers play them only once in a while, for shits and giggles. Professionals play games as their job, competing in competitions and gaining sponsors. Gamers play games more then casually, but do not compete.
No one said it was a religion. If you want to play Sparkster yourself, play it on Easy and don't touch Very Hard.
Shouldn't that be "Gamer gamers"? XD Well spoken regardless. I get rather sick of people barging into playthroughs of games and going "OMFG U SUCK". That's not generally the point of the playthrough...
I dunno, how about "Serious Gamers" or "Part-time Gamers". :P
You know, casual, part-time and full-time. Haha, yeah, I know that was lame.
The point of a playthrough, 'specially the Let's Play kind, is to hear the player and hear what they think from start to finish. Well, that's my interpretation.
The point of a video game being hard as hell is that when you beat it, the amount of satisfication you get is enourmous. If you beat a really easy game, it's really nothing to be proud of because of the lack of challenge.
That's precisely why i'm playing this game on the highest difficulty level. The fact I don't (er.. ok, once, but that doesn't count) abuse emulator functions constantly like alot of Let's Players do, means this is a playthrough of skill.. some luck.. but mostly persistance.
Bragging rights is where its at. Nothing like showing off to your friends beating such a hard game. That's exactly what I did after beating Gradius ReBirth...on Normal XD
oh some lifes lost in the run but keep it up! i´ll check the entire run of this, only played a bit the SNES version, and wich one you recommend to me? the SNES one or the MD one?
Wait so you have to beat the game in one sitting ?

Oh, Konami. Why do you hate the gaming community so?
evilegg288 2 years ago
Konami doesn't hate it, it provides growth.
iOniV2 2 years ago 5
Ah. This is obviously some strange usage of the word 'growth' I hadn't previously been aware of.
evilegg288 2 years ago
Well, I was under the presumption that a good game was a hard game, no?
Well, if you honestly insist that a hard game is "[hating] the gaming community"...go back to your easy games then.

First up, if "gaming" is "the act of playing a game", then "gamer" as derived from "gaming" simply means "one who plays games".
Second, this is a hobby, a means of entertainment and escapism. Not a damn religion.
