well the guy said his father was making that a month, so if you figure that was about an average salary for a middle class adult, what would an average adult make a year today, i'd say roughly 50k a year, that equals about $4,000 a month, so i'd guess in today's dollars barry was making about $4,000 a week. and i doubt he was paying taxes on that to boot.
of course he wasn't paying taxes on that... if the money was going to seal through ferrie, it likely came from the cia, and their budget is highly classified, therefore it would have been strictly "off the books" and could never have been proven to have even gone to seal so no way he wouldn't have had to pay taxes against it. shit... that's a lot of dough for that time.
