Actually, Kaname is not her real brother, but a step brother, remember on of the last episodes when Kaname turned Yuki back in to a pure blood vampire, and Zero showed up, he wanted to kill them but Kaname told him they are brother and sister, he asked them something but the point is, Kaname said it would be easier if they were real brother and sister, I think Kaname was adopted after his parents were killed :)
