@djkaseone its squarepusher - Theme From Ernest Borgnine - from feed me wierd things
watch?v=2CHV44WpKw4
classic squarepusher.
just a note, even though many of his tracks are the usual jungle breaks, i dont think i would consider squarepusher as DNB, but more IDM(as its meening in mid 90s) or drill n bass, melodic advanced hyper acid jungle, braindance, something something.
many would propperly disagree. but regular drum n bass is NOTHING like squarepusher.
I agree with you, he makes like IDM or drill'n'bass, but then sometimes you hear things like "my sound" from the music is rotted one note album. Then it's really hard to put a genre on him, Squarepusher is just Squarepusher.
hahahaha this tom is so amazing! what we hardly are able to do with highend computer power and best of best highend software and expansive synthesizers this crazy funny tom just does in a minute from reel to reel hahahahahaa and it sounds fucking much more amazing like the mixing others work weeks or months on it hahaahah i bet he is a genius!
it's so ironic & funny how he was worried about things like, "is there time for a sound check" but it didn't matter because he's so talented, he didn't know it was going to sound great no matter what
Drum & Bass spawned from Hardcore in the UK around 1992, Hardcore was a mix of all styles, techno, house, electro, etc etc etc. the earliset form of Drum & Bass was Jungle Techno, this was techno styled basslines and bass with hectic drum patterns over top,the UK hardcore scene then split into 2 factions (Happy Hardcore) piano driven hardcore & Drum & Bass,
That Synth he has there is the SH-101. I've just bought the Roland SH-201 & it is alot of fun screwing around with all the knobs & Sliders as he says! He also has a copy of 'White Noise' - an album produced by Delia Derbyshire: Who was the Woman who Pioneered the Dr Who Theme.
I'd Recommend everyone to listen to a track from this Album called 'Love Without Sound', it's 30years ahead of it's time. It's availible to watch on You Tube of Couse. Love Without Sound by Delia Derbyshire.
@ryanx27 Meh - it's just a 4-track. No big deal. Anyone over 30 has multi-tracked on tape - it's not as daunting as you think.
In no way do I mean to take away from Squarepusher - he's obviously a genius and I'm a fan or I wouldn't be here, but the tape is about the least impressive thing about this vid.
@Roelandvinken The secrets right there mate. Its the Akai sampler. Considering the age of the vid, I wouldn't be surprised if theres an Atari-ST running cubase around somewhere, but a lot of these guys just used a step-sequencer with an akai sampler.
