I made 20 resolutions, but this week i changed them to "rules for 2012" so that when april comes i dont give up. (i allways do that) i think it will be easier and since they are rules, i have to follow them. i put them on my fridge so i have to see them every day :)
my resolution: never skip a meal, eat right, no crash dieting, and exercising more in a healthy way finding activities that motivate me, not just the gym. I already subscribed to learn more ways of exercising and getting motivation through ur vids. Thanks so much!
I recently had surgery from 2 kidney stones, but the process was not as easy as it sounds. I'm only 22 and have not been eating well through out my life. Intense dieting and intense eating. Skinny and then weight gain. My 2011 holiday was spent at a hospital getting my hemoglobin to a normal rate in order to be operated. My body was extremely weak, slept for 20 hours every day, had a blood transfusion All because my hemoglobin was damaged due to poor nutrition. Health is no joke
Im trying to eat healthy and I do pretty well with it... besides school lunch. All they serve is pizza, fried chicken and corn dogs. Do you have any suggestions on what to bring??? Please help (:
@fliplovecheer Kudos to you for sticking with it~I recommend packing a turkey whole wheat wrap or sandwich, some raw nuts, and an apple. OR if you have time , I love making delcious colorful salads, throwing them in a tepoware and you're good to go. Include some chicken, turkey, tuna or even a vegie burger pattie and any other yummy veggies you like and voila!
I want to lose 32 pounds by may so I could look nice in my prom dress and I won't feel ugly next to all the skinny girls. The thing is that my parents don't really support my decision on it and they always buy fast food and want me to eat it and they also have temptations in the house. My friends also make fun of me and keep telling me that I won't be able to do it. What kind of things can I do to avoid the junk food and eat a healthy snake instead?
@yessjv First of all, i'm so proud of you for your determination to persevere despite your lack of support. I can completely identify, in many of my goals throughout life I've faced the same issue, and had I listened I wouldn't be where I am now, so i just want to tel lyou I understand and I'm proud of you.
My advice is to quietly go about your business, set a plan for yourself in wirting and stick to it despite the criticism. The best way to prove everyone wrong is to SHOW
@yessjv them you can do it versus simply talking about it. In the face of negativity, as hard as it is, take the high road and walk in the other direction. Your results will speak volumes! You go girl!
My resolution is not eat processed sugar for a whole year. I did it for 3 months a few years back and lost 25 lbs. So far so good this year, but im not loosing as much weight. I have lost 5 lbs. so far. I am also working out 6 days a week, weight training and cardio.
My new years resolution is to lose some weight. I'm sort of overweight, but I'm losing weight because I want my confidence back more than anything. I tried starving myself about a year back, and that was a no-no! Now I'm eating healthily, I've stopped eating fast food and fizzy drinks, and I've limited my chocolate allowance (giving it all up was just too painful! hehe) And so far I've lost 5 pounds, which might not be a lot but through this chosen diet I'm getting more healthy too! Result! :)
I've been skinny my whole life, but this year I want to build muscle! I want to gain weight and turn it into muscle and become healthier! Oh! and stop biting my nails... haha!
@favouredsurgeon Absolutely. If you want to, go to my new website. And send me a personal message on your eating habits and I can respond in more length on ideas of how to make this year, your best year yet! :)
My New Years resolution is to loose 30 pounds by june. I'm on my way. I've been running 4 times a week and I lost my first 7 pounds but then I hit a plateau. So I did a search and found YOU. I've already done the work out in the video with HIIMRAWN. I love it. All my muscles are sore and I'll do it again tomorrow. I'm so happy I found you. You are totally helping me meet my goal.
@jennycake4 I'm so thrilled to hear that. I know you have it in you, when something is important enough to you there is always a way to make it happen!
@AmandaRussell thanks Amanda it means a lot to me that you are responding to messages in person. I love all your videos and I'm very inspired. I did sprints today for 3.5 miles and I'm doing the video link on you tube again tomorrow. Thank you thank you.
My new year's resolution is to be more healthy and get more fit... Even if some people think I already look fit and well. Also I'm going to treat my skin more, then finish the first year at university with good grades. Last thing would be is to get at least 4000 G on my xbox (^_^;)
i think i am going to make a new club at my school as it starts the day after tomorrow again, featuring many of your work outs. i want to get back into shape after the holidays and i know many others want to, too. the tips and tricks are so helpful and it's what i've been searching for on the internet for years. thanks amanda :) you have inspired me.
@bienienow What an inspiring and amazing idea! I Love it, let me know if I can help in any way further!! Have the group join my facebook page Amanda Russell Workouts and leave comments on your daily updates!
My new year's resolution is to not have any new year's resolutions and to start right there and then when I want to change something in my life or something about myself, instead of waiting until the new year starts. My new year's resolution ftw!
I'm probably the only one who wants to gain weight. Haha, ever since I was little I had a high metabolism, and I'm just very active naturally, so whatever I eat is already burned! How do I gain weight in a healthy way? Being fit at the same time. I don't eat junk food to begin with! So that's a start :)
Thanks for another awesome workout!! I am super excited to see new workouts each week!! I recognized some of the ex's in this video from Shaun T's Insanity workout...they are great moves!!! :)
I need to lose 83 lbs. (253 to 170).Have started a 4 mile walk which I hope to turn into a jog.Still working on giving up Pepsi, soda a big source of my calories.
My main resolution is to be ORGANIZED ! That way, I can make enough time for all the things I want to do and I enjoy :D I am very happy I found your channel, I officially RESOLUTE to integrate some of your exercises in my schedule ! Not to loose weight but to feel energetic !
my new years resolution is to lose weight. i find the exercise quite easy but the nutrition part hard, could you do any videos based on the right foods to have?
I love your channel I got hooked on by Lily Rubio who taking a 30 day challenge. I'm ready to lose 40 lbs. I want this resolution as a permanent lifestyle. I know I am making up excuses but with the holidays over I'm going back to my crazy schedule- school and work full time. I really want to lose those 40 lbs.
@babyjojog2 Welcome! Excited you have made the commitment, a quote i love that keeps me motivated is thsat if something is important enoough to you, you will work for it, if its not, you will find excuses- that quote always help me decide how important hings are to me when i need motivation!
Hey Amanda! I found your site via YFE with Jennifer Donough and I'm so excited that I did. We have very similar backgrounds and I'm looking forward to watching your videos regularly to get motivated to reach my goals in 2012! Thanks for sharing this :)
@jlynnewell That's AMAZING - thanks for stopping by, so happy to have you and appreciate your support! I will have new workouts EVERY week - so stay tuned!
Good luck with your 2012 goals, and let me know if I can help in any way!
Im so happy I found your channel...I really need my energy back, and would love to get back to my old self before i had kids. I just need help..and my self confidence back. Thank you so much!

thanks for the video , your amazing ! I just found your channel and loved it! My new years resolution would be to happy & healthy and be positive all the time , practice yoga , get in shape, eat healthier :)
My New Year's Resolution is to lose 50 pounds and gain some muscle by next year starting the day after New Year's day. I don't know how I'm going to do it with my mom's cooking, though. She's one of those moms who say, "Hey, your getting kinda chubby *pinches cheek* Have a couple more hundred sausages". Mind over stomach.
Amanda ! Happy NY's to U & Ben! That Blue looks great on you, shows us the Royalty u r !Speaking of Blue ! My NYR is to Wear More of It and treat myself like Royalty ! Another resolution is to get more rest by going to bed early, a Prince has to rest !
Thanks For Being Pure & Genuine!

Thanks Amanda for replying. I've been working out almost everyday the past 2 months or so and taking a break during the time of the month, anyway why is that I always feel so sore after a workout? I feel like I'm sore almost every morning, can't be a good thing. Also, can you make a video to get rid of excess arm fat. I do weights but there's that extra flab I can't seem to get rid of, and I don't think jiggling them won't do anything... help!
I don't really have new years resolution, but I do have goals. One of my goals to run a marathon and be in the top 25 percent of the world in running. Another goal of mine is to pay off my school loans by 2014
Our biggest goal for 2012 is to launch new drink - a drink for London - LONDONADE
Getting Fans On Facebook will strengthen our position in negotiations with drink manufacturers - our intention is to ensure that a proportion of the sales proceeds go to CHARITY.
this is in no way to be mean...but do you have something in your cheeks?lol like gum or something lol but i love your videos and you inspire me in so many ways!
I don't really have any resolutions regarding health. I just want to travel and write more, but like you said, coming up with a definitive plan will make my goals much more tangible.
I'm not overweight or anything, I'm actually a little smaller/skinnier than average. But my New Years resolution is to get my body more toned and eat healthier. I wanna get ready for the bikini-season! :)
To get back my focus on loosing weight..i have hypothyroidism and i get about 10 pounds off and seem to get stuck there no matter what i do....it becomes quite discouraging. I have to find tricks and recipes that i can cook in a casserole dish for many meals for less cooking time overall. Cooking and preparing 5 - 6 meals a day gets old real fast. I tend to eat the same thing day in and day out would love other ideas...thanks for the listening ear..kim
I want to get fit and look fabulous for my wedding in May! With your work outs I know I can do it! "touch and explode!" is my fav quote :D Also, we have been planning our weeks since nov. but the holidays put that out of whack so we want to get back on that, saves $, time and it makes us sure to have a lunch at work so we don't eat out or just snack all day. Thank you for your work outs I did hot body again this morning!
@northernSars ConGRATS on your upcoming wedding! If that's not motivation to get into shape I don't know what is!!
How did you like Hot Body workout? Approx how long did it take you to get through it? I think it would help a lot of others to know how much time to set aside :)
@AmandaRussell right now I am really modifying your work outs- cant do bridge ups or full push ups yet, or do multiple rounds. I know its lame but I do about 10 mins each morning. After a week I am really hoping to do 2 rounds :D I feel happier during the day just from this little bit of exercise! I haven't done the hotel one for a while but I think i spent about 10 mins on that too.
@northernSars That's AMAZING! are you kidding? Everyone has to start somewhere! I design the workouts and usually try to make them hard enough so that the first time i do them even I have to modify. I like things to be challenging - if it's easy you'll never see the results or feel the satisfaction of reaching beyond your limits and achieving greater things.
def wanna loose weight...set my goal for 10 pounds at a time so when i loose the first 10 the second 10 wont be hard. However, dealing with medical issues has made this hard so first i want to get to a painfree state.
@stephmm2004 I completely understand, I have had my share of injuries etc, so I have an immense compassion for you, and appreciate my 'able' days more now! But my advice is to modify the workouts and do what you can, you will be surprised once you get into it what you can accomplish. AND it's good for your head :)
my resolution is to wake up half an hr before the time that i usually wake up,and workout for at least 20 mins each day, since i'm busy with school.also to prepare my school snacks and hopefully my lunch too :)
@nothing2do962 LOVE this goal! and fits perfectly with my workouts which you can do right in your home in less than 30 minutes! kudos to you, keep us posted on how it goes!
im a guy 18 years old , 132 lbs and 5.6 ft tall , i'v started working out for 3 months from now at the gym ,, im doing great i'v already lost 11 of fats and yes i know im already thin but gotta get rid of the fats first!
in all the past 3 months i'v been doin' exercise only with my body weight .. like running,push-ups, ball exercise and all that
but this week im gonna start lefting weighs, so if you could help me with that i'll be pleased!
@alzaeem435 Absoltuely - congrats on your weight loss success. To build muscle you are completely on the right track, weights are important, but you don't actually need weights only, all the bodyweight stuff in my videos (like lunges, squats, push-ups etc) helps build muscle.
However, I will also be doing some weight workouts in 2012, and will be posting strength training routines on my new website. If you 'like' my facebook page you can keep in the loop :)
My new years resolutions are to get in shape (using your amazing workouts), manage my time better, spend time with people I love, give back to my community and save as much as I can.
@SimplyBeeda Such a lovely set of goals! I wish you all the luc in the world and an excited for you to visit my new website and try all my new weekly workouts this year!
i have a goal but its more of a year and half type goal. I want to lose at least 100 pounds. I've been starting already while I come up with a game plan. I'm glad I found your channel. I'm going to for sure use some of your workouts :)
Thanks for the tips Amanda : ) ! I'm still planning the process of my goal, but for now I know that I want to change some of my body fat into muscle instead and get leaner! Can't wait for your new workout videos!
Making a change could be easily done, BUT, hard to maintain. The challenge is to be tenacious. Losing fat doesn't work over night. It takes TIME. It's okay to have cheat days as long as you still keep exercising. Peace.
@AmandaRussell Whats a good way to keep motivatedf? I do the same resolution every year to lose weight I start of good by making a database with shopping list, meal plan & workouts yet after about 2 months I just slowly stop. I want to lose 63lbs I'm currently 231 (thanks to your workout) and hoping to be 168 by March or April 2012 but I'm setting realistic goals of 2-3lb a week & I know thats not enough to reach that goal but atleast if i reach this each week or more then it's a positive step.
I usually have a short-term and a long-term resolution. I have a belly dance performance in January so my short-term New Year's resolution is to exercise every day and practice my choreography at least 5 times a week (it's only 20 minutes) until the performance. My long-term goal is to get to and maintain my goal weight... only 25 pounds to go! I plan on achieving that by beating all of my friends at Fitocracy.
@tillermiller131997 If you want to lose weight, eat lean meats, fruits, veggies, nuts and seeds, a little bit of starch and no extra sugar. Make sure your carbs come mostly from fruits and veggies. Try to limit your high density carb sources (breads, pastas, rice, foods with extra sugars) or any food source which spikes your insulin up drastically.
For getting into shape, try the program Crossfit. Ive been using it and seeing great results! GOOD LUCK!
My new years resolution is of course, like all resolutions - To lose some extra pounds my body doesn't need. I am not fat by any means, but I do HAVE fat that I need to get rid of. I'd like to lose 20 lbs by August. I'm always in or out of staying on track with myself. So this video was informative! Thanks :)
I dont believe in new years resolutions. I think it causes too much pressure on yourself. What I do is say everyday I'm going to do atleast one thing to improve my fitness, career and my mental attitude( make myself feel good as I doubt myself too much) it works for me :)
@RainbowHoboAG Absolutely, start small, I recommend starting with daily walks and try to do 1 or 2 of my workout videos each week, start with the modifying positions and work up to them. You will see your body change fast if you stick with them :)
I'll have one new workout video every week - so always something new and no equipment needed!
Honestly i just want to stick to a plan. Many times i will start something and then by the summer be upset that im not in the best shape i souldve been in. So My goal is to have a healthy lifestyle since im 24 and dont eat the best. and to lose some of my post 2 yr baby belly weight
Last year my resolution was to be more healthy and lose some weight and so far I have lost 50 lbs. For this next year I've decided that I want to train for a 5K and continue eating healthy and exercising! I'm so excited for the new year and I have really enjoyed your videos. Happy new year! :)
@corazora Woohoo- let us know when you do your 5k! And I was a runner myself, so i know these workoutswill drastically improve your speed and stamina! You Go GIRL!
I want to be able to do one of your workouts without modifications! I am SO out of shape for a lot of reasons, and when I do your workouts, even with the modifications, I feel and look better!
@OurSimpleLoveStory HA I LOVE this goal! You are not the first person to say that, in fact, when I first create workouts, I create them so that I need the modifications in the beginning. The goal is to always put something a little out of your reach - it's the only way to really get stronger and see results!
Thank you for inspiering me Amanda, your workouts and spirit has really made me think that things dont have to be so complicated! Next year I want to get a much more fulfilling life, and a big priorityt is me feeling comfortable in my own skin, so that I can enjoy things that I do to the fullest, and the body is a big part of that quest.
@FridayAllWeek Thank you so much for your candid honesty - you are right, in order to be happy, you have to start with yourself. Being comfortable in your own body is very important, but the fact that you recognize that is HUGE and it sounds like you are on your path to a much better 2012~ thank you for your comment!
My New Years Resolution is to start off losing at least 10- 15 lbs and be a lot more limber and fit by making healthier choices. I work with small children so my energy and fitness are essential. I figure if I set small goals and meet them that they will lead to sucess. By the way I love your videos.
@AngelbearMio83 Setting small realistic goals is one of the best way to make long term positive changes! Lots of energy and fitness is definitely needed when working with little ones, kudos to YOU!
I made 20 resolutions, but this week i changed them to "rules for 2012" so that when april comes i dont give up. (i allways do that) i think it will be easier and since they are rules, i have to follow them. i put them on my fridge so i have to see them every day :)

I do weights but there's that extra flab I can't seem to get rid of, and I don't think jiggling them won't do anything... help!

Our biggest goal for 2012 is to launch new drink - a drink for London - LONDONADE
Getting Fans On Facebook will strengthen our position in negotiations with drink manufacturers - our intention is to ensure that a proportion of the sales proceeds go to CHARITY.

Thank you for your work outs I did hot body again this morning!
northernSars 2 months ago
@northernSars ConGRATS on your upcoming wedding! If that's not motivation to get into shape I don't know what is!!
How did you like Hot Body workout? Approx how long did it take you to get through it? I think it would help a lot of others to know how much time to set aside :)
AmandaRussell 2 months ago in playlist Uploaded videos
@AmandaRussell right now I am really modifying your work outs- cant do bridge ups or full push ups yet, or do multiple rounds. I know its lame but I do about 10 mins each morning. After a week I am really hoping to do 2 rounds :D I feel happier during the day just from this little bit of exercise! I haven't done the hotel one for a while but I think i spent about 10 mins on that too.
northernSars 1 month ago
@northernSars That's AMAZING! are you kidding? Everyone has to start somewhere! I design the workouts and usually try to make them hard enough so that the first time i do them even I have to modify. I like things to be challenging - if it's easy you'll never see the results or feel the satisfaction of reaching beyond your limits and achieving greater things.
Congrats to you!

def wanna loose weight...set my goal for 10 pounds at a time so when i loose the first 10 the second 10 wont be hard. However, dealing with medical issues has made this hard so first i want to get to a painfree state.
stephmm2004 2 months ago
@stephmm2004 I completely understand, I have had my share of injuries etc, so I have an immense compassion for you, and appreciate my 'able' days more now! But my advice is to modify the workouts and do what you can, you will be surprised once you get into it what you can accomplish. AND it's good for your head :)

Thank you Amanda...
alzaeem435 2 months ago
@alzaeem435 Absoltuely - congrats on your weight loss success. To build muscle you are completely on the right track, weights are important, but you don't actually need weights only, all the bodyweight stuff in my videos (like lunges, squats, push-ups etc) helps build muscle.
However, I will also be doing some weight workouts in 2012, and will be posting strength training routines on my new website. If you 'like' my facebook page you can keep in the loop :)
Thanks you @alzaeem435

@tillermiller131997 LOVE your attitude! crazy how much it helps to put your goal/resolution in writing. Now you feel accountable :)
AmandaRussell 2 months ago in playlist Uploaded videos

Thanks :)

RainbowHoboAG 2 months ago
@RainbowHoboAG Absolutely, start small, I recommend starting with daily walks and try to do 1 or 2 of my workout videos each week, start with the modifying positions and work up to them. You will see your body change fast if you stick with them :)
I'll have one new workout video every week - so always something new and no equipment needed!
Good luck, keep me posted on how you do!

I want to be able to do one of your workouts without modifications! I am SO out of shape for a lot of reasons, and when I do your workouts, even with the modifications, I feel and look better!
OurSimpleLoveStory 2 months ago
@OurSimpleLoveStory HA I LOVE this goal! You are not the first person to say that, in fact, when I first create workouts, I create them so that I need the modifications in the beginning. The goal is to always put something a little out of your reach - it's the only way to really get stronger and see results!
So proud of you!
AmandaRussell 2 months ago
Thank you for inspiering me Amanda, your workouts and spirit has really made me think that things dont have to be so complicated! Next year I want to get a much more fulfilling life, and a big priorityt is me feeling comfortable in my own skin, so that I can enjoy things that I do to the fullest, and the body is a big part of that quest.
FridayAllWeek 2 months ago
@FridayAllWeek Thank you so much for your candid honesty - you are right, in order to be happy, you have to start with yourself. Being comfortable in your own body is very important, but the fact that you recognize that is HUGE and it sounds like you are on your path to a much better 2012~ thank you for your comment!
AmandaRussell 2 months ago
My New Years Resolution is to start off losing at least 10- 15 lbs and be a lot more limber and fit by making healthier choices. I work with small children so my energy and fitness are essential. I figure if I set small goals and meet them that they will lead to sucess. By the way I love your videos.
