  • il 4° ed il 5° round sono qualcosa di fantastico. Si sono battuti con tutte le energie che avevano in corpo. Due atleti FENOMENALI!!!!

  • RIP RON

  • that was a terrible boxing match. BUT A GREAT FIGHT.

  • George foreman hits like a mule kicks.

  • Maybe the best 5 rounds from a golden era of Heavyweight boxing. Foreman,Ali,Frazier, and Norton were clearly the best of this era but fighters such as Ron Lyle,Jimmy Young, and Earnie Shavers were just a notch or two below these great fighters.

  • classic brawl. One of the best ever.

  • WHAT AN INCREDIBLE FIGHT, UTTERLY WITHOUT BOXING SKILL!

  • No doubt Lyle could throw some bombs of his own. Too bad he didn't do it more frequently.

  • How can one not love Howard Cosell?

  • Thanks to Lyle for giving Foreman a wake-up call. I think Foreman learned a lot from this fight. Both fighters did.

  • 3:34 Oooooo!

  • It isnt artistic buts its slugging...Howard Cossell! That line still cracks me up after all these years!

  • Definetly one of the best fights ever.

  • @kocherginalexs Спасибо за комментарий. Посмотрите на другие мои vidoes, я написал несколько песен о боксе.

  • The fourth round was one of the greatest rounds in history.

  • Foreman bludgeoned Lyle with about 20 unanswered blows... what was the ref doing smoking a cigar?

  • If Joe Cortez was refereeing this fight, it would not be great. He would have stopped it in the first round. There's no more great fights anymore.

  • I twitted Foreman on twitter there, asking who hit harder out of Frazier, Lyle and Sonny Liston. He replied:

"It wasn't like they served ice-cream. It all hurt. But Lyle: a sleeping pill."

  • Foreman might have hurt Tyson

  • If the bell hadnt sounded @13.40 George would not have survived the Lyle onslaught. He got chance to regain himself luckily between rounds

  • great fight

  • Someone from the crowd was yelling "stop it" at 17:04

  • Pure slugfest!

  • Watched the end of round 2 with my mouth hanging open. Lyle taking such punishment to the head from a puncher of Foreman's power, it looked like a homicide in progress.

  • I have never seen anything like Rounds 4 and 5 of this fight. One thing's for sure, if George Foreman got into that half-crouch and started throwing nothing but power punches...it was time to look the fuck out.

  • Leyendas colosossssss el minuto 13,00

  • geroge foreman, a living tank...

  • woooooooooooooooooooow

  • Since boxing went to ufc Randy should actually box toney now instead of submitting him Randy knew. Not to let toney hit him it would have been fatal

  • so much more interesting then ufc.... non of that gay sex leading to a tap out... xD

  • @bradleycontois LMFAO, al this was is 2 sweaty black men punching untill one gets tired enough to fall down. We've seen what happens when I pro boxer comes to the ufc. He gets TKO'd by Randy Couture

  • ya i dont care.... i wana see fighting not wrestling thats why boxin is better...

  • How the fuck did Lyle take all those hige blows. Steel plated skull or what

  • OMG this fight is Epic, when u look up heavyweight fight, this video should pop up......

  • HIGHLIGHTS

  • the 19 dislikes are fans of the current heavyweight division

  • Commentator is a serious asshole.

  • @chanctonbury63 A lot of people did not like Howard Cosell.

  • I didn't know what I was in for when I clicked on this video but I'm glad I did. That was one hell of a fight! Thanks for putting it up.

  • This is like a Godzilla movie

  • Men were clocked in the making of this video.

  • zombie foreman

  • Ron Lyle - plucky

  • What a great fight! A well rounded and pretty even match up. If it would have gone the distance without a knockout, I would have given it a draw, as much as I love Foreman.

  • 19 people have the last name Klitschko

  • @flightdogg WTF does he have to do with this fight?? Klitschko brothers were a few months old when this fight happened.... dumbass.

  • @Hatinonthehaters This is an all-action fight, and the Klitschko's are the dullest fighters in the history of the heavyweight division. Learn about boxing before you start poppin off...

  • @flightdogg Umm have you even seen Klitschko VS Lewis? poppin off... ROFL take that ghetto shit elsewhere.

  • @flightdogg

what has Klitschko got to do with this fight? I don't see any logic in this comment and yet you are getting some stupid people who give you the thumbs up. I am sure Klitschko would pay his respects to George and Ron and applaud their courage and punching power, if not their boxing finesse. So what are you on about? Whats your point about Klitschko disliking this? what idiots there are on you tube....

  • Great Big Georgeeeee!!!!! :)

  • One of the best heavyweight fights ever from a great era for boxing. Heavy Artillery!!!!

  • Vlad & King, may I offer my own input re. your hypothetical Foreman-Tyson match?

I think Tyson's best chance would be to use his superior quickness (especially his exceptional side-to-side lateral approach) to get inside & close enough to land those bomb blasts he was so noted for. However, George had a very considerable chin, not just fearsome punching power. If he could weather MT's early assaults and the fight wore on, I think his superior size & strength could land Mike in real trouble.

  • @pnutbutrncrackers but wouldnt you say tyson could land shots at least as hard as lyle does here. and tyson was a good finisher and could pound foremans body. and tyson also had a good chin he could take punishment. i say he has a good chance and the winner uncertain.

  • @kingzula A good question/point, but kind of a tough one, b/c its converse question must be addressed to answer it, which is "After the punishment Lyle here receives, would Tyson have been in any kind of condition to deliver the shots you speak of?" IOW, I know you think highly of MT's chin, but tbh I think 1976 Lyle's was better. It's one thing to say a fresh Tyson tops a fresh Ron Lyle for power (agree), but that's not necessarily what we're talking about. I think RL's stamina & jaw > Mike's.

  • @pnutbutrncrackers mike tyson had a good chin mike was not the kind of fighter that was out after 1 or 2 big shots. attacking short fighters like tyson have to have good chins to be successful.ron lyle was past his prime and his chin was ok and he did not have good stamina he was 35 he had a good punch but not as good as tyson. if mike hurts george first and as bad as lyle did he finishes him of mike would be hitting with fast hard combo's and you see how low GF hands are. tyson has a chance

  • @kingzula To say that Lyle was past his prime is mostly a stretch. Many regard this fight, even in losing, as the high point in his career. And his chin was better than "ok". Buster Douglas wore down Tyson with hits nowhere near what Foreman delivered, and the uppercut that spelled the end for Mike was like a regular punch he might've seen several of from George -- plus he had been largely spent & beaten for quite a while in that fight before that (I'd give him two or three rounds tops).

  • @pnutbutrncrackers I agree, as I've said before, that Tyson's best chance is to hurt George early on and sting him with a 'Kid Dynamite' blast. And I do think that would've been a definite possibility. On the other hand, if MT absorbs too many direct hits from George before he can do that I can see a wobbly Tyson really struggling -- maybe going down in the 4th round or so.

We'll never know, but it's fun to speculate.

  • @pnutbutrncrackers when tyson fought ruddock a big dangerous fighter he took ruddocks best shots did not go down and fired back. and ron lyle was past his prime had and ok chin. not a bad chin a decent chin.he did have stamina issues and didnt have good defense.and maybe if he was younger he finishes foreman. many people use what he did to frazier as an example of what he would tyson but frazier took foreman lightly(he was the 3 to 1 favorite)and just came of that grueling fight with ali.

  • @pnutbutrncrackers douglas wore down tyson the same way ali wore down foreman and douglas hits harder than ali. and ali wore down foreman with jabs. tyson was in ok shape(not good not bad) while foreman was in great shape.douglas who when in good shape is a very skilled fighter and he was in great shape and focused that night and would have beat many fighters that night. douglas is a big guy 6 ft 4 230lbs in shape and was snapping tyson head back. and hitting with big right hands.

  • @pnutbutrncrackers if you read my past statements with vlad i said that tyson has a chance foreman has a chance and i think it would be and action pact fight with victory uncertain

  • @kingzula I'll go along w/the "victory uncertain". Don't buy much of a parallel between the Rumble in the Jungle and Douglas/Tyson; nor, again, most of your assessment of Ron Lyle, the fighter. My corner instructions for both men:

To Tyson: "Use your lateral quickness, get inside, pop him good once or twice, get out. Don't stand there."

To Foreman: "Guard the inside like a mower against grass -- & don't let him in - like vs. Frazier. Jab, jab. When he's still enough, look to lower the boom."

  • @pnutbutrncrackers neither fighter was ever the same again after they both lost their aura of invincibility .they both where knockout by fighters who are not big punchers (especially ali). thats the parallel i'm making. look at this fight with lyle. lyle runs out of gas just like he did with ali

  • @kingzula Good boxing discussion, thanks. Appreciate you not using profanity with me, too (as I myself never do). Rare on YouTube.

I wish there had been an Ali-Foreman rematch, and I think I would've picked George. I actually didn't think he did that badly in Zaire -- just foolishly punched himself out in the heat (where was his corner's counsel?). Pretty even up till then, IMO. Also thought the count seemed a bit quick, but likely wouldn't have made the difference. Not as big a MA fan as many.

  • @vladiator100 tyson didnt get up against douglas the way foreman didnt get up against ali. and against ruddock tyson didnt go down.even though he was hit with shots at least as hard as foreman was against lyle. tyson had too be soften up before going down. he took a good shot . foreman would not knockout tyson in 1 round.and size wise in tyson prime he would fight at between 215 and 220 and foreman 220 to 225 and foreman was taller so bulk wise they are about the same. tyson has a good chance

  • @kingzula Exactly, if Tyson was knocked down against Douglas I see Foreman knocking out Tyson with one or two shots to the chin. Douglas soften up Tyson BUT Douglas does not have the power Foreman does. We all know why Ali was able to KO Foreman which makes it one of the biggest masterpieces of all time. I don't see Tyson getting close and actually duke it out with Foreman, most likely another Frazier vs Foreman night.

  • @vladiator100 yes douglas soften tyson the way ali soften up foreman and ali didnt hit as hard as douglas.and tyson wasnt in as good of shape that foreman was .no one or two shots does not knockout tyson just like one or two shots doesnt knockout foreman tyson has been hit with one or two big shot before and wasnt knocked out.and ali soften up foreman mostly with jabs . once again the outcome is uncertain tyson in his prime had good head movement and could jab his way in and hurt foreman.

  • @kingzula Ali didn't soften up Foreman the way Douglas soften up Tyson. Ali shelled up for 7 rounds and let Foreman punch himself out and then unleashed a deadly 7+ punch combination. Big difference. It was the only time Foreman was stopped, Tyson was stopped 5 times. I can't see Tyson banging toe to toe against Foreman even if he was elusive. Even Cus was quoted as saying "its suicide" when it came for Foreman vs Tyson.

  • @vladiator100 yes he did ali was poppin goerge whith jabs through out the fight those jabs where clearly having an affect on him. foreman was knock out the same way tyson was from taking punishment and then fatigue ali hurt foreman in the first round with a big right . and yes tyson was stopped 5 times but once in his prime like foreman. foreman retired in his prime so we dont no what would have happened if he continued . and foreman really never fought bid punchers except lyle

  • @kingzula Not really, it was mostly because Foreman punched himself out. The jabs had little effect, of course they still had some effect but Foreman was tired and it did him in. And Lyle was not the only big puncher Foreman faced, he also faced a man named Joe Frazier and KOd him in 2. Foreman came back at 38 years old and that didn't stop him from going the distance in every single bout he had until his final retirement. He also did much better against an even younger Holyfield than Tyson did

  • @vladiator100 no ali jabs where snapping his head back jab after jab and he hurt forman in the first round and like i said foreman was in good shape tyson was in ok shape(not bad but not good) foreman was not ahead when ali knocked him out. i could see a prime tyson hitting that ali (not in his prime) as much as foreman did.also if joe frazier faced a prime tyson after he just came of that mentally and physically draining fight with ali i think it would have been the same as foreman.

  • @vladiator100 even jerry cooney (a big puncher but had no chin) hurt foreman. tyson in his prime hurts foreman just as much as foreman hurts tyson

  • @kingzula Also, Foreman ate short armed punchers for lunch. I don't see him doing much damage. Its probably why he avoided Foreman altogether. Cus himself was quoted as saying it was suicide as I mentioned earlier. Tyson needs to get close to Foreman to do damage, Foreman was very good at keeping guys away, especially smaller guys, with way more reach, size and power, Foreman would make easy work of Tyson.

  • @vladiator100 i'm skeptical if steve lott and booby goodman two people with an ax too grind said that, being there meal ticket and careers was over when tyson split with them and that tyson quote has been on the internet for years. that could easily be attributed to the foreman camp spreading rumors. but even so i base my opinion on the how i see them fight . and mike tyson has fought many big strong hard hitting fighters and handled their power. like i said both have a chance. an exciting fight

  • @kingzula Im pretty sure its true, it was around when they had the Tyson vs Foreman hype, im pretty sure you can find the story, its pretty good, I didn't want to believe it but when I read it I was stunned about how they viewed Foreman, and Cus and Tyson never disputed the story. Its never been a secret that Tyson was thought to have avoided Foreman. With their styles I really can't blame Tyson for doing so if he did. Foreman was a bad match up for him.

  • @vladiator100 the steve lott thing may or may not be true an cus was dead by the time the rumor started circulating so he couldnt dispute that.but as for as the older foreman he was not knocking out any of the top competition he was facing and in fact king had offered foreman a match before tyson fought ruddock who many said was too dangerous a challenge while tyson was waiting for his shot to regain the title. and foreman turn it down to fight holyfield.

  • @kingzula Im betting its true otherwise the story would have been negated by Tyson's people. Tyson's style is an easy pick for Foreman. Even if the story was false Tyson was smart enough not to look for a Foreman bout enthusiastically. No matter how untouchable Tyson may have been someone will always make you think twice or thrice, Foreman was that man for Tyson. I think Foreman would finish him in a few maybe 2 rounds.

  • @vladiator100 also foremans success in his comeback is basically his one big punch against moorer who got careless and had a bad chin. he lost too holyfield convincingly he was losing every minute of every round to moorer before the ko .even alex stewert dominated him after the second round and alex should have got the decision. and he was even out boxed by tommy morrison of all people. and i will say tyson was done after ;prison. still he deserves credit for being the oldest champion

  • @kingzula He did better against Holyfield than Tyson did. Foreman hurt Holyfield on occasions while Tyson was completely dominated. Foreman was never stopped past his prime and even fought in the top competition well into his 40s while Tyson lost a few times past his prime. I will even say Tyson was very near his prime when he fought Holyfield the first time, everybody thought he was going to kill Holyfield. Anyway, I don't Tyson lasting too many rounds against Foreman, prime or not.

  • @vladiator100 i would say tyson wasnt near his prime when he fought holyfield and certainly wasnt mentally coming of 3 and 1/2 jail sentence. like i said foreman stayed away from the punchers after his fight with lyle and tyson wasnt completely dominated it was competitive for a while. and i have my theories why holyfield had so much more strength and power later in his career. tyson did fight punchers in his prime and has a good chance in his prime against forman was hurt by punchers

  • @kingzula Most on ringside only gave Tyson one-two rounds in the entire fight against Holyfield( I only gave Tyson one round). Tyson had begun his second reign as champ and did it just as convincingly as he did in the first, very near his prime. Tyson's size and style is a no no against Foreman, sure Tyson has the puncher's chance but I can't see Tyson walking in to Foreman without getting wrecked by Foreman's insane power house punches.

  • @vladiator100 i gave tyson 3 of the first five rds then holyfield took control over a tiring tyson .but thats not the point. where talking about primes. what short armed fighter did foreman eat for lunch beside frazier.and i already said why i think he beat frazier so easy(that war with ali) and tell me who quoted cus saying that i never herd or read cus saying that . tyson would be able to get inside and work the body and hurt foreman .and what if tyson landed first. both have a chance

  • @kingzula Bobby Goodman and Steve Lott have been credited to bring up that quote or story. There is also another quote which has Tyson saying "I'm not fightin' that Fuckin' animal, if you love the motherfucker so much, you fight him!" I don't know if they have it on the internet but I read it on a boxing bio a while ago. That quote was directed towards Don King. Tyson getting in is like running towards a train head on, no matter what I don't see Tyson enduring an inside war against George.

  • @vladiator100 foreman would have to hit tyson with consistent punches thru out the fight and not get hit by tyson that much. tyson takes a good shot . even against lewis where tyson was obviously badly shot, he was able to absorb lewis's big shots for a while. foreman would not just knockout tyson with a couple of big shots.

  • one of the most brutal fights ever

  • Best 4th round I ever saw!

  • Oh and by the way Foreman actually WON when he was in trouble against Lyle. As opposed to Tyson falling to adversity in his losses to Douglas and Holyfield. Just as people make countless excuses for Tyson, so I guess the same notion falls for Foreman and why he struggled against Lyle as he was not the same after Ali. Uninterested, unmotivated, he ditched his trainer and was mentally unstable here against Lyle. Same excuses they make for Tyson. Any Foreman kills any Tyson.

  • @vladiator100 yes foreman beat lyle and tyson beat ruddock after being hurt by a big puncher. like i said they had similar careers and they where never the same after they lost.they lost their mental focus .and tyson never got a chance to win back his title in his prime .foreman more gave up on that quest. you could argue that he no longer felt he could be a champion.so the excuses go both ways. prime tyson and foreman would be a action packed fight with the outcome uncertain.

  • I watch this fight and can see a classic tyson running thru foreman. What would foreman do when he gets 100 punches landed on him before the first round?Foreman wouldnt get a chance to land a shot.He was so suseptible to right hands.foreman wouldnt knock classic 1987 tyson out as he did frazier ,tyson late 1987,would finish this foreman in the second round.Lyle wasn't close to the relentless punching of a classic tyson. Not even close.

  • this is one of the best fights ever i love it Big George is so very Great Boxer and even Greater Man i love him , God bless Him

  • Epic (and I don't use that word often). I'm a big 'Big George' fan, but I have to admit that my heart went out to Ron Lyle that last time he went down and was unable to rise one more time. He had NOTHING to be ashamed of here, an absolute warrior. Huge credit to both men.

Why does it seem like we never see bouts like this anymore? Just me?

  • @pnutbutrncrackers i agree that fights like this are quite rare nowadays, a lot of fights are too one sided cos there is too much money at stake for promoters and tv etc but when u do see a cracking bout like this it shows us all what a brilliant sport boxing is

  • Comment removed

  • @scoppy80 2005-2008? Do you even know your boxing.

  • @musood6630 I meant to write 1985-1988, it was a mistake and you should have known instead of trying to admonish me. No body is above mistake, just a mere typing error.

  • @scoppy80 Looking bad admit that I was a bit harsh. not intended. Sorry mate.

  • @musood6630 Cool bro, stay blessed man.

  • After watching the Fraizer vs Ali III fight, it's amazing to see a fight like this.

  • Classic tyson would have finished foreman off in the first here.

  • @fadethetrade With this ^ Foreman, the one who wasn't training properly, tormented by his own demons and on a downward slope after the Ali fight then maybe, but not in the first. But Prime vs Prime, Tyson would get killed.

  • @MrBumboclart Foreman 1973 vs tyson early 1988,would be a shootout with tyson or foreman winning in the second round.Normally I would take young george but after seeing lyle hurt foreman with one right hand, the voice tells me inside that a classic tyson, not any tyson after 1988 but the classic tyson would have swarmed all over foreman .Dont forget, this george had an illegal tactic of constantly shoving his opponents into punching range. If you dont allow him to shove you to the outside, who knows!

  • @MrBumboclart THe way you describe foreman here after getting his demons after ali,it seems a parrallel to tyson after losing to douglas,he stopped training and stopped fighting the right way.But strictly on form I still wonder if foreman would be able to handle the barrage of the first 90 seconds of tyson after seeing Lyle almost take foremans head off and it only took one Lyle right hand to get the ball rolling, bro!!Tyson with his eyes closed could land 10 rights.and he was a better finisher

  • @MrBumboclart I think most fans look at the frazier ko and put tyson is fraziers place but you cant because tyson got going when the belll rang, frazier was a notoriously slow starter, perfect fro the fast starting foreman to shove and get the jab/right hand, right uppercut in.TYson would be watching foreman carefully for those tactics,he and damato watched foreman fights all day together.Im sure they mused the idea of how to beat george.

  • @fadethetrade I can't see Tyson winning at all.

All that he'll do is GO TO george faster than frazier did and get caught with a swinging Foreman uppercut of hook.

If Buster could KO Mike Tyson then George could. People underrate Foreman's chin, he took Brigg's, Moore's, Morrison's and Holyfield's best shots and didn't go down. Don't judge his chin on this ^ because he fought dumb and tried to end it quick without having the conditioning to do so.

    KO2-4 Foreman

  • 19 people are Ron lyles family

  • one of the greatest fights!

  • What a fight. This is what heavyweight fights are supposed to look like. The last good heavyweight fight that went into a good mix-em-up slugfest was with Lewis vs. Vitali. The latter rounds were brutal.... this is good stuff!! (the persons who disliked are dickheads)

  • @MegaYouri13 actually the last great heavyweight fight was lamon brewster vs sergiy liakovic (sorry for spelling it wrong) it was for the wbo hw title in 2006 i think check it out its a great fight

  • @MegaYouri13 indeed, who on earth did not like this fight? Absolutely breathtaking.

  • @MegaYouri13 The neuropsychologist in me knows how damaging this fight had to be to the brains of both fighters. The humanist in me finds the violence problematic. That said, this was an epic battle with more action than I've ever seen in a heavyweight fight. Both men showed ultimate heart. True courage and determination. Lyle was very under appreciated. He was more than fair-middlin. He was kind of mechanical but he could slug, and could take a major punch. A shame someone had to get the loss.
