Actually, that would be pretty hard. After a little bit of calculating:

chance to crit is 15% / 25% (min/max) with melee.

average health of all classes is 166 hp.

the bat does 40 damage, so it takes 5 hits to kill mr average without a crit.

the chance to not crit in 5 subsequent hits is 44% / 23%.

Now try to hit a soldier 5 times :o
