The paper they might be referring to is a second parent adoption. Our state allows another person to adopt without the original parent having to give up rights. Not sure how that works with a father in the pic or if that state has such a thing They could also be talking about a power of attorney and a will giving her legal rights. Kind of ridiculous what we have to go thru just to love and protect our kids, but it is so worth the peace of mind.
Children can have a "third parent". For example, I have a friend whose parents never got married but they split up when she was 4. However, her dad never abandoned her or anything like that..but at 6, her mother married a man who adopted her as a third parent which is not really a parental adoption but it does give him some rights and everything. Almost as if she had 2 parents and a legal guardian or tutor who is almost a parent but not quite. He was able to do everything for her normally.

What she is asking for is a paper that gives her legal guardianship of Sophia. In the case that anything ever happens to Callie and/or Mark Arizona can make legal and medical decisions for Sophia. If something were to happen to both of them Arizona would be able to legally adopt Sophia.

If they don't put ob paper Arizona is nxt in line to get her, she would legally have to go to a living relative of Mark or Callie. That emergency paper situation is pretty basic. I think it's pretty safe to say Mallie aren't going to be relinquishing those rights, hence why I'm wondering what this piece of paper is. Guess we'll find out.

When the camera is again focused on them, Owen is walking towards Teddy and Callie is appreciating her wife's "assets". What is happening off camera is more interesting than Bailey and Henry's conversation.

I keep replaying that last scene. I can't help but watch it over and over. For a woman who couldn't see herself being a mommy 2 seasons ago she sure has come around. Arizona conveys SO much emotion & vulnerability here, desperately wanting to secure her place in Sof's life. WOW. JCap rocks like gym socks! And I LOVE LOVE LOVE that Callie responds so sensitively to her! Her face saying it all, like she could actually hear Arizona's heart. Great scene. Phenomenal acting. LOVE these ladies =D
Karev really needs to learn to mind his own damn business. What he said to Arizona was a really low blow. What's even more messed up is that Arizona has been there pushing him to be better and NOT hating him when everyone else had been. Ugghhhh.
So, yeah, looks like the comment Karev made hit a nerve with Arizona. You can tell by the looks she has behind that mask before and after she responded to him. In Karev's defense, I think he was just trying to get her to understand why he did what he did involving MerDer & babe Zola. No harm there. It lit some fire under her. And from what we can see in the last scene, it prompted her to actually draw attention to what she and Callie had apparently only talked about by never got around to doing.
Have any of you noticed how Callie checked out her wife when Arizona pulled Callie to one side so they can talk? Callie surely was admiring the sexiness of her wife and it was one hell of a look she gave her! ;)

He's not homophobic, in fact, I think he really likes and is inspired by Arizona, he's just trying to help his friend. And I know Arizona didn't take it personally, it was just a tense scene.
