When he first helped her, he said they'll be at the hospital in 10 minutes. After he finally stops at the hospital, he says "We got here in exactly 10 minutes", so one can assume that he got there in 9 minutes 50 seconds, but he didn't want to lie, so he pulled that last drift around the circle to hit exactly 10 minutes.
