  • lol.old song i love it !!!

  • 6 people suck my nuts

  • Kurt Cobain: didnt want to be overrated

Billy Corgan: wanted to be huge.

you cant compare them if they didnt want the same thing.

  • This album punched me in the earballs. Billy could light guitars on fire just by pissing on them.

  • yeh guys i forgot to say thats just my opinion, you can stop treating me like hitler

  • @RaTeDRKOdwyer94 i know its ur opinion and all but those are two totally different things. I know they were from the grunge scene but they wanted 2 different things out of there career. Nirvana never hoped for success but SP did.

  • 2:23 epic

  • Amazing! This is my new favourite Smashing Pumpkins song!

  • I thought Billy got all the rights to the songs. Why the hell is Mayonaise blocked by EMI all of a sudden?

  • This shit rocks, man. The guitars sound so heavy and true. Billy's guitar skills trump most lead guitarists even in the grunge era, and he was a lead singer. He just had Darcy and James for the shows. Billy did everything on this album except drums. He can play guitar, bass, piano, new wave keyboards, sing, songwrite, and record his own shit. What a musical genius.

  • My dad taught me to play this when I was only 5 :) I miss my dad :( This song reminds me of him, rip daddy -3

  • I want that sound...

  • <3

  • best song off that album imo

  • The 4 people who disliked this are fucking idiots.

  • This song is an acid trip! I rock myself to sleep with it :)

  • this song reminds me of deftones

  • 4 people need to be QUIET!!!!!

  • Haha, people still fighting over two different bands? How wonderful.

    Great song, great album. :-)

  • @trashedbodomguy children of bodom, really?

  • you're an idiot if you think in your f 'd up talentless mind that nirvana had any albums better than the pumkins.

  • @audhep77 dont quote me but they both have great albums and all are good and should be taken into consideration im not trying to be an ass or anything but im just trying to prove my point

  • @audhep77

    Can't say fuck?

  • i have to disagree a little. Without competition or view of seeing who the better band is, know one can strive to one up the other. If Billy didn't have that drive and thought of trying to write songs better than Kurt and vise versa, I don't think they would have ever produced the music they had done. All music is great, but hearing the differences in band's sound help others to combine elements and make a greater tone.

  • Play this alongside the song on itunes or whatever . Sounds so wicked .

  • nirvana : overrated smashing pumpkins: massivly underrated

  • @RaTeDRKOdwyer94 u cant compare the 2 man, i love botyh but they so different... pumpkins is my youth, nirvana is my anger...

  • @RaTeDRKOdwyer94 woah there thats a very blanket statement calling nirvana overrated. you sure youve done all your research to be able to make that statement?

  • @RaTeDRKOdwyer94

Yeah, sure thing buddy. That's why these guys are on Guitar Hero, Yup.. If they underrated why would they be in a game? Evidently people don't want poor music in their games. Also I like both bands and Nirvana were one of the leading exponents in late-eighties grunge. Smashing Pumpkins are Alternate.

  • @Rosserusini There is a few underrated bands on Guitar Hero, and there is a lot of underrated bands in a lot of video games.

  • @RaTeDRKOdwyer94

Nirvana had 4 great albums, Smashing Pumpkins had 1.

  • @TheCagedTiger yeah, i agree. this is the only good album.

  • @TheCagedTiger Nope, The Smashing Pumpkins have much better albums.

  • @TheCagedTiger Lmao . This album is a million times better than anything nirvana's ever put out . The thing with Nirvana is they're only more, let's say well known, than the pumpkins because of Kurts death and all that crap but the truth is pumpkins are just better than nirvana. Sorry to break it to you bud. Gish is also a very good album so is mellon collie and so is adore .

  • @BlackTeddies

Gish is alright, mellon collie is pure shit, and adore is half-shit.

  • @BlackTeddies although i agree w you, comparing bands is stupid and irrelevant. music is music. nirvana was a great band. so is smashing pumpkins. period. it doesnt have to b a competition. they both were gifted at translating soul charismatic energy into a cd.

  • @BlackTeddies

Gish is alright, Adore and Melancholy suck cock.

  • Comment removed

  • @nicholsjoshua15

Nirvana was Grunge, REM was alternative rock... completely different sounds and not even comparable...

  • Comment removed

  • @nicholsjoshua15

Gish and Mellon Collie were meh. Everything past Mellon Collie has no merit and no memorable songs. Also, even though nevermind and insesticide weren't as good as In Utero or Bleach, they are far superior to any of the newer Pumpkins trash.

  • Comment removed

  • @nicholsjoshua15 Not cool, dude. They are both great bands, no need get nasty.

  • @nicholsjoshua15

The only reason people remember Nirvana is because they populized grunge and revolutionized rock in the 90s. Meanwhile, Smashing Pumpkins were copying the sound of REM

  • Comment removed

  • @nicholsjoshua15

    1) I don't know why you are capitalizing "The", when the band's name is Smashing Pumpkins.

    2) The author of the video has deleted your comments... I wonder why?

  • @TheCagedTiger

REM? Are you kidding? I always thought Smashing Pumpkins' sound was like a mix between 70's hard rock/metal and 80's and 90's indie rock.

  • @pashedmotatos

...except that 70/s80's hard rock and 90s indie were completely opposite to one another. The only reason alternative music came along was to move away from the sound of the 70's/80's hair bands. Thank god they did, though. Listen to Automatic for the People and Murmur and see the similarities.

  • @TheCagedTiger Uh, I still see no similarities between Smashing Pumpkins and REM...

Corgan is influenced from everything from Black Sabbath to The Cure to My Bloody Valentine. This is according to him.

I think you're smoking some good shit, pal. Pass over the peace pipe.

  • @pashedmotatos

Lol, Kurt Cobain was influenced by the Beatles, that doesn't mean shit all.

  • @TheCagedTiger He wrote All Apologies, which is apparently his attempt at writing a Beatles song, from what I've heard.

  • @TheCagedTiger damn right we went from poison and bon jovi to alice n chains, pumpkins soundgarden, rage against the machine, korn, cypress hill etc!

  • @TheCagedTiger LOL Dude smashing pumpkins and rem don't sound anything alike. I've actually listened to murmur and siamese dream. They don't sound anything alike. You must be smoking if you think they sound alike.

  • @musiclover01ization

Listen to the chord progression on the songs, not just the tempo or riffs.

  • @musiclover01ization I agree. They're not the same style. It's likely that REM might have influenced them though.

  • @TheCagedTiger I love Nirvana and Smashing Pumpkins - what do you think was their only 'great' album - I know its difficult to pinpoint it but what do you personally think an album has to have before it is deemed 'great' ? PS Im not being argumentative Im just wondering thats all. Best wishes.

  • @coveneyr

Bleach, Nevermind, In Utero, and a shit load of their earlier work I consider an album.

Smashing Pumpkins on the otherhand... Gish was alright, Siamese Dream was fantastic, and everything past was trying hard to be depressive.

  • @RaTeDRKOdwyer94 heeeeell no. smashing pumpinks are underrated ill agree on that one. but nirvana are in no way overrated.

  • @RaTeDRKOdwyer94 and why would you even consider conmparing the two? there two tottally different bands.

  • @RaTeDRKOdwyer94 not as much as you think......nirvana: nevermind = massivly overrated.....nirvana: in utero = massivly underrated

smashing pumpkins = massivly awsome regardless if they get the credit they deserve or not

  • @RaTeDRKOdwyer94 Both great bands, two great signers but Corgan couldn't reproduce what he did on his albums..(voice wise) listen to most of his live stuff it's never really close to how smooth he sounds on the albums. Heavy studio editing.. Cobain on the other hand was solid live.

  • @coozno1977 True.

  • this is still my favorite sp song of all time

  • I don't know, but its my heart choosing the songs...not me.

  • best album of the 90s. hands down

  • @zeppelin88ab Yeah, it's so true.Nirvana's Nevermind and Soundgarden's Superunknown are great albums too. But I find Nirvana's music a bit simple and there are a few tracks from 'Superunknown' which are not too worthy. With Siamese Dream, I don't have to worrry about that coz it's all the way tuneful. It's probably the only album that I know how to sing from start to finish including their weakest track, Silverfuck

  • 2:00

  • i forgot how good this album was. best song on here. my opinion anyways, better than the ones they played the sh!t out of at the time. the whole album does rock tho

  • @jam1ng SHHH!!!

    This shit is overlord.

  • yeah.. this is my jam!

  • I don't know how this song wasn't released as a single. My fav SP song ever, though I can understand how a few other songs were released over this. Such a powerful ballsy driving riff during the verses

  • this is so heavy...

  • the better the sound equipment you get for this song the better the experience. This shit would just drown all noise in my car. Beautiful shit. LSD FOREVER

Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band 2-Smashing Pumpkins-Siamese Dream 1-Alice In Chains-Jar Of Flies my opinion and im 13....so i havent discovered everything yet but if you have any suggestions feel free to tell me
  • @SmashingPumpkinsTV why don't you try listening Disintegration by The Cure...It's a great album... :)

  • Its funny how there music sounds like there name some how.. Smashing Pumpkins. Dosnt it?

  • @uh0oo I know what you mean.

Billy Corgan does kind of sound like a pumpkin.

In a good way of course

  • Drums Drums Drums And more Drums. This albulm had some of the best drumming of the 90's, hell the best drumming ever!, yet you rarely ever hear Jimmy Chamberlien's name in any countdowns. But we all know he's a master of the skins

  • Quiet...I am sleeping in here... we need a little hope. Jesus are you listening? xD!!!

  • this is an awesome song from one of the greatest albums ever made!!.. i'm not just saying that, as an album every song fits perfectly!!! very few albums captivate me like this

  • I ordered this album along with Gish online... and im still waiting for them to arrive!!! its nearly been a week now =,(

  • @CiaLabelle I downloaded the full discography in 30 minutes for free ;-D

  • @MutantCheeseburger

haha maybe i should have done that instead :P

But it only cost me £5 together so i suppose its not tooo bad.

But im losing my patience, i want them now!!!

  • @MutantCheeseburger Soon after this happened MutantCheeseburger was brutally arrested and raped by 10 horny members of the RIAA, and then was fined 10 trillion dollars for his horrible crime against humanity.

  • @MutantCheeseburger You shouldn't smile about that, loser.

  • @TheUltraDude Haha, fuck you dude I do what I want. :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

  • @MutantCheeseburger At least this one knows it's a troll.

  • @MutantCheeseburger keyboard warrior

  • @beccappp Fuck yeah :D

  • @MutantCheeseburger tht's why you're cool! xD

  • @cordfluidnevoie thanks :)

  • @TheUltraDude all the money goes to the record company anyway, and not the actual band. bands make most of their money touring.

  • @TheUltraDude You realize services like iTunes, Rhapsody and Zune allow you to do this legally right? "I downloaded" doesn't mean Kazaa, Limewire or Napster exclusively anymore. Plus Corgan is putting his new CD up for FREE download 1 track at a time!

  • @smoss469 Was anyone talking to you? I was talking to someone who specifically said "free," asshole. Also, the new album is ONE album, that guy downloaded ALL. You're a fucking idiot and your comment fails in every way.

  • Comment removed

  • @TheUltraDude Hey Ultra Tard-Face, did you know that swearing makes you sound really STUPID? Let me guess, you don't care... I think YOU fail in every way, loser-fest!

  • @UCC1308Staff

    "loserfest" are you ten?

  • @rainfire366 I am ten on a scale of 1 - 20. Hey, I'm sorry to TheUltraDude, I screwed up and got the name wrong, my message was for @smoss469! Yeah, that's right everyone, I feel really dumb right now, I was wrong, I was wrong, and I am sorry. I am admitting it, so there you go. Who the hell are you?

  • @UCC1308Staff

    Jake.

  • @MutantCheeseburger Your downloading their work is nothing to brag about. It makes you a loser and a destroyer of the ability of people to make music for a living. Grow a conscience.

  • @MutantCheeseburger I buy their music because I believe they deserve more and more money for their spectacular talent.

  • @Cuhfuhfuhd i bought them the first time around...but now i have no monies.

  • @bagecka27 I bought Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness. Then Siamese Dream.

  • @CiaLabelle I had this on casette

  • After listening to this, I have to say that a huge 90's-style outbreak of music is inevitable in the future (YES!!!).

  • @DaxinatorProductions we can only hope!!!

  • This is one of my all-time favorite albums. Yeah, I was in my early 20s when this album came out, it is totally the music of my youth. I used to tell everyone I could about this band, I called it "Preaching the Gospel of the Punkins"

If Nirvana had not been around, this band would have taken over the world instead. As it was, these guys had to take a back seat and didnt really hit their peak until rock had died again, and electronica was back. Billy was almost Kurt, just a little too slow.

  • @eqsheiky When I saw Lolapalooza in 94 the Pumpkins ended up being the headlining act instead of Nirvana because Kurt had killed himself months before the festival began. Maybe that will confirm your theory which I agree with.

  • i know billy might have made mistakes....well he's fucking human right???? so it's natural....so i wish people would stop fucking saying he's a douche and an asshole.......its not like your anybetter. or unless your perfect (highly doubt) or unless u actually know him in person...... rock on

  • @SuperSiamesedream If they were perfect they would know how stupid it is to say stuff like that. I love Billy he ain't Jesus but neither am I. You are right we all make mistakes. Siamese Dreams was when he was very depressed so it had to be great because that much pain always make beauty.

  • 2:03 - 2:06 it sounds like his voice fused with the guitars

  • @auralstream Yup love it ... THAT's the pinnacle of a solo! Guitar singing out from the voice and taking the song to the next level.

  • Mutant cheese burger! chido tu rock lol

  • @TheMinusBlindfold Thanks :D

  • @MutantCheeseburger You have the best usename ever!

  • @birdy47 Thanks man!

  • Mutant cheese burger! chido tu rock lol

  • Billy's an asshole. I mean, a fucking douchebag. I knew Billy; not well, but I had friends who were extremely close to him. No matter what people say, he truly is a jackass.

But what he created... Makes up for it. How can people listen to this album and not consider Billy Corgan a god of grunge music? He recorded every stringed instrument on this album himself, with Chamberlin on drums. You can't deny the incredible talent he has, and exhibits with this... this masterpiece.

  • @youmomhowdo is he really that bad? how so? I'm curious

  • @ryeguy48 The shit he said about people. Predominantly D'arcy.

  • Being a man that judges not by tone or lyric, Smashing Pumpkins win the Grunge. So many groups...(soundgarden, screaming trees, mother love bone, ...) the list can and always will go on according to preference. I love Nirvana, but the cord was severed and the music grew.

  • ahh man this album soooo puts me in the mood right now

  • you know shits gonna go down when you hear 0:15-0:23.

  • this song fucking pwns

  • most underrated album of the 90s besides loveless

  • Let's not argues about which band is better, I personally think Nirvana is highly overrated when compared to other music from the 90's but that's not why you're here. Enjoy this song and let's call it a day.

  • The solo grabs the listener and says," HEY! You will pay attention to me... Now." Such a beautiful song.

  • Tremenda Canción

  • best song off this album.......cause im listening to it now.........anyother one would be the same!!!!

  • who are those kids i wonder......

  • nevermind , nirvana. doesnt touch this album never did and and never will i my head

  • @gspeas13

bad comment, the 2 bands are same era, similar "genre", but you cant compare them dude...its like comparing night and day...just an opinion :D

  • @gspeas13 Your taste in music is absolute shit if you think this is better than nevermind.

  • @MIvarsson99 You know dick about music man. I like Nirvana to but Musically they can't touch the likes of Siamese Dream. Kurt was a shitty guitarist and an even worse singer. Nirvana was extremely hit or miss and each album had a few tracks that were pretty terrible. Nirvana was lifted to mythical status when Kurt Killed himself. Billy Corgan is a musical phenom compared to Kurt.

  • @JoeGeetar Musical tastes are subjective, you dumb fucking shit.

You can't count the number of chords a band uses in a song and then determine how good the song is on that basis. The real scholars of rock respect Nirvana and understand that band's place in history. They also agree that Nevermind was better than Siamese Dream.

So, don't act like you can objectively prove that Siamese Dream was better.

Hey,....I LOVE SP and I believe in my heart that MCIS was the greatest album ever, bar none.

  • @MIvarsson99 The scholars of rock all know Nevermind to be the superior album. That couldn't possibly be more of a farsical reach. There are some facepalmingly bad tracks on Nevermind and even the good ones make you change the station do to them being overplayed to death and to be quite honest not all that good in the first place. Smells Like Teen Spirit, Come As You Are and Polly come to mind. And you are talking to someone that used to breathe Nirvana. The hype has surpassed the talent.

  • @JoeGeetar I mean, Siamese Dream, as much as I hate to say it, is an album for pussies. Even Gish is WAY fucking better. There's so much outcast anger and depth and deranged weirdness on Gish. SD is like a Smith's record. The lyrics are weak: "Life's a bummer when you're a hummer." "When I can. I will try to understand." Weak.

Also, it doesn't rock as hard as MCIS. It's the "Gap" version of the Smashing Pumpkins and that's why so many lameos love it so much.

    Fuck that record.

  • go jump up your mom's ass

  • @MIvarsson99 Look, I know I might get flamed for this but Nirvana and Kurt Cobain are extremely overrated. The top 90's bands that come to mind that had real talent are bands like Smashing Pumpkins and Alice in Chains not Nirvana

  • @zachw1014 I sorta agree with you on SP being better than Nirvana but..Alice?!?!

All Staley ever wrote about was smack I don't even call that garbage music

Terrible poems about smack layered over cheesy metal chords

Your taste in music is shit.

  • @MIvarsson99 Riiiiiight, I'm sure that millions of people agree with me and like ten disagree with what you said. But whatever, it's the internet and this is a Smashing Pumpkins video, either enjoy the music like everyone else or go outside, you pick.

  • ONE OF THE BEST ALBUMS EVER!!!!!!!

  • love this song too and once again amazing sound quality, thanks cheesburger :)

  • Siamese Dream is still one of my all time favorite albums. I think it might have been one of the very first albums I bought, on cassette tape! when I was like 12 years old. Also...I remember one time, the band was introduced as "The Smashing Pumpkins" at some concert. Billy got pissed and told the guy "It's 'Smashing Pumpkins'" before they started their set =)

  • i have been a fan 4 years i remember seing them live in the uk glad to see they are bk toghethr dont think

they could recreate this album or any thing close its like nevermind to nirvana.

  • This song is pretty much orgasmic.

  • Grew up on this album. This album is the reason I am so cool.

  • I am 36 and lived this era witnessing there rise and the change of the times.Funny as it may seem I also listen to hip-hop mainly but also love alternative, and metal. The music that comes out now, is so bland in comparison. You take those 3 genres In the early ninties ,you have Wu Tang Clan , Iron Maiden,Metallica, Smashing pumpkins , and Bush, the Cure, etc. Other than Chevelle I can't think of one band I began to like after the year 2000.

  • @esar71aw Try Silversun Pickups, they're really good, and are influenced by this band.

  • @ganstamannirvana93 They never said they were.

  • @Gamagachee Well they sound alot like them. I don't think it's odd to assume that Smashing Pumpkins is one of, if not their main influence.

  • @ganstamannirvana93 I looked at their wiki page a long time ago, they never mentioned them, but they did mention My Bloody Valentine, Sunny Day Real Estate and a few others.

  • @Lagwins It sounds kinda creepy, but that's part of the coolness!

  • And with the words "I can't hear you at all" lets all put our fingers in our ears and sing along.

  • Intro is awsome!(as if the whole song isn't!)

  • @oneofanceantproficy The intro is a sample loop played in reverse. Neat 70's style trick. It sounds like racecars going around a track to me. It really sets the mood for the song.

  • EEEK! Whenever I hear a Siamese Dream songs I just like explode with excitement!!!!! Amazing... xD

  • nothing quite like a stratocaster droning in drop D

  • Silencio!!!!! Estoy durmiendo. Y aqui necesitamos un pokito de esperanza.....

  • amazing i can't belive how underated this song is

  • Dude playing this on drums is a blast...

heck just listening to it rocks.

  • I used to hang out in my friends basement when i was 15 and we would listen to this album over and over. It is truly a rock masterpiece. Everytime i listen to it, it brings me back to one of the gratest times in my life.
