The worst thing to happen to foxes in recent yaers is the hunting ban, they are now being shot in there 1000s every year and many end up dieing slowly from gunshot wounds. I used to put up with foxes on my land and the local hunt used to kill 2 or 3 a year locally, now they cant be hunted we shoot them, so far this winter we have shot 32.

Isn't a death thats gruesome, painful & causes unsurmountable stress actually cruel, there really is no actual point to hunting with hounds, my understanding of American hunts policy with this form of hunting is that the practise is all about the chase it is just unfortunate that a fox may in a few cases actually get killed. It is just rather difficult for me to understand if this is the policy, why not just go on your social rides without the hunting or even drag, what difference would it make.
it's cruel if it's painful & there's no point to it, but in most cases (if there is a kill) it's relatively painless and there's great purpose in the hunt. it's social, it serve's a great conservatory purpose (in more than just the foxes and coyotes) and it's a historical connection to the past..plus it's really fun to see how nature has made a wild animal that can outrun, outsmart, and well..outfox us and our hounds..we get to bond with the horses, hounds, and friends while enjoying nature

look into it for yourself, it shouldnt take you too long if you really r interested. but i am busy.... did you know that it was anti hunters that told gamekeepers that they should use terriers rather than gas...because it was humane... and i use a gun when a gun is called for, but dogs when dogs are called for. obviously you dont understand that every situation has a different solution. sometimes a gun is best sometimes dogs, gamekeepers that value there jobs will use dogs when they have to.

because fox hunting is a sport. and fox hunts like having foxes to hunt, some areas they hunted several times a week, and caught alot of foxes, they soon found that they had no foxes left, so they imported them, farmers do not like larger numbers of foxes - one or two is fine, they keep the rabbits and rats down a bit, but when there are lots they are a problem. and hunts are allowed onto the land to get them. its complicated and you are simple. no wonder you are confused.

Fox hunting with hounds is crossing the line with my conscience, the whole situation stinks. I see no difference in this practise in comparison than with dog fighting or bear baiting which were banned many moons ago. I don't want to go down this road as class, as much as many huntsmen seem to wish, has absolutely nothing to do with peoples hate of this pursuit, but if it was followed solely by the working classes back then, we both know we wouldn't be having to have this conversation now.
i see no difference becuase you have no idea what dog fighting or bear baiting are in comparison, infact there is no comparison, a dog fight could be HOURS of suffering, a fox hunt will be hours of hunting but SECONDS of suffering. the same goes for bear baiting. and of course class has something to do with it, most anti's refer to huntsmen as toffs, so obviously class is part of the issue.
i beleive the rspb posted a report saying that they did carry out pest control when they had to but that they didnt want to...something along those lines but more drawn out. (i read it a while back) everyone who shoots foxes will injure and lose his/her quarry at some time. and thats the moment you realise that dogs are much better. you never wound an animal. i'm not talking about fox hunting, i'm talking about lurcher work. look into it. and how exactly is fox hunting cruel? its a quick death.
I can assure you that i have concrete evidence that on many fox hunts the fox isnt killed quickly. What about the vixen that was torn open while pregnant and her cubs were wriggling on the ground!!! Surely you cant find that acceptable.
of course i dont find it acceptable, but there are shitty aspects to everything. occassionally something goes wrong. a kid died from the cervical cancer vaccine, they wont stop offering it to people though, becuase for the most part its fine. there are closed seasons to prevent that sort of thing, and it simply shouldnt have happened. wriggling? thats grim, hadnt heard that. my theory on it is that the fox was an urban relocated one, breeding seasons are lengthened in our towns warmer/more food.
of course thats just my theory, its true that rats now breed all year round in our cities, whereas in the countryside they still have a breeding season. i'm not sure whether this is the same for foxes, but i do know that the rspca dump a lot of foxes in the countryside. usually they are picked off pretty quick, or die of starvation. town bred foxes just like town bred people, do not understand the countryside.
you are superior to no one. and i can pick holes too, hunting is not cruel, professional pest controllers know this FROM EXPERIENCE - years of it.
the kill is quick, usually instant, almost always faster than a shotgun. yes the fox has to run a bit, but not for hours, its a sprint, not a marathon. all those hours of hunting are just that, looking for the fox. once he is seen its over very quickly. fox hunting was not the only thing effected by this ridiculous ban.

Fox hunting is a dispicable, evil, discusting practice, with no respect for life. First they chase the fox swith dogs and horses, until it can't run anymore or until they corner it. Then they let the dogs tear it apart while its still alive. Its EVIL, and I hope anyone who does it has the same thing done to them as justice.
If you went and researched it with no bias view then you will find out that we certainly do not tear the foxes up when they are still alive; for a start the law won't allow us and when we did (before the stupid law) the HOUND are TRAINED and are not savages.
The worst thing to happen to foxes in recent yaers is the hunting ban, they are now being shot in there 1000s every year and many end up dieing slowly from gunshot wounds. I used to put up with foxes on my land and the local hunt used to kill 2 or 3 a year locally, now they cant be hunted we shoot them, so far this winter we have shot 32.

Isn't a death thats gruesome, painful & causes unsurmountable stress actually cruel, there really is no actual point to hunting with hounds, my understanding of American hunts policy with this form of hunting is that the practise is all about the chase it is just unfortunate that a fox may in a few cases actually get killed. It is just rather difficult for me to understand if this is the policy, why not just go on your social rides without the hunting or even drag, what difference would it make.

it's cruel if it's painful & there's no point to it, but in most cases (if there is a kill) it's relatively painless and there's great purpose in the hunt. it's social, it serve's a great conservatory purpose (in more than just the foxes and coyotes) and it's a historical connection to the past..plus it's really fun to see how nature has made a wild animal that can outrun, outsmart, and well..outfox us and our hounds..we get to bond with the horses, hounds, and friends while enjoying nature

I have probably more experience than you on the ways of the countryside, now i know you wont believe it but its true. I am not a "tree hugger" as you put it, what i object to is sheer cruelty, and Fox hunting is just that, wether you like it or not.
I know game keepers who wont use dogs, no they control vermin the correct way, with a gun and stealth, which it humane and effective.
Can you tell me a bit more about your RSPB allegation please, i would love to read it.

look into it for yourself, it shouldnt take you too long if you really r interested. but i am busy.... did you know that it was anti hunters that told gamekeepers that they should use terriers rather than gas...because it was humane... and i use a gun when a gun is called for, but dogs when dogs are called for. obviously you dont understand that every situation has a different solution. sometimes a gun is best sometimes dogs, gamekeepers that value there jobs will use dogs when they have to.

because fox hunting is a sport. and fox hunts like having foxes to hunt, some areas they hunted several times a week, and caught alot of foxes, they soon found that they had no foxes left, so they imported them, farmers do not like larger numbers of foxes - one or two is fine, they keep the rabbits and rats down a bit, but when there are lots they are a problem. and hunts are allowed onto the land to get them. its complicated and you are simple. no wonder you are confused.

Fox hunting with hounds is crossing the line with my conscience, the whole situation stinks. I see no difference in this practise in comparison than with dog fighting or bear baiting which were banned many moons ago. I don't want to go down this road as class, as much as many huntsmen seem to wish, has absolutely nothing to do with peoples hate of this pursuit, but if it was followed solely by the working classes back then, we both know we wouldn't be having to have this conversation now.

i see no difference becuase you have no idea what dog fighting or bear baiting are in comparison, infact there is no comparison, a dog fight could be HOURS of suffering, a fox hunt will be hours of hunting but SECONDS of suffering. the same goes for bear baiting. and of course class has something to do with it, most anti's refer to huntsmen as toffs, so obviously class is part of the issue.

i beleive the rspb posted a report saying that they did carry out pest control when they had to but that they didnt want to...something along those lines but more drawn out. (i read it a while back) everyone who shoots foxes will injure and lose his/her quarry at some time. and thats the moment you realise that dogs are much better. you never wound an animal. i'm not talking about fox hunting, i'm talking about lurcher work. look into it. and how exactly is fox hunting cruel? its a quick death.

of course i dont find it acceptable, but there are shitty aspects to everything. occassionally something goes wrong. a kid died from the cervical cancer vaccine, they wont stop offering it to people though, becuase for the most part its fine. there are closed seasons to prevent that sort of thing, and it simply shouldnt have happened. wriggling? thats grim, hadnt heard that. my theory on it is that the fox was an urban relocated one, breeding seasons are lengthened in our towns warmer/more food.

the kill is quick, usually instant, almost always faster than a shotgun. yes the fox has to run a bit, but not for hours, its a sprint, not a marathon. all those hours of hunting are just that, looking for the fox. once he is seen its over very quickly. fox hunting was not the only thing effected by this ridiculous ban.
