I've always loved the unique sounds of the Russian language, and watching Asiatic cartoon characters sing in Russian is really interesting, to say the least! I never imagined that it would fit as well as it does here. Disney really do go out of their way to find voice/singing actors that match their characters' personalities, don't they?

More likely, I think, is that people who are unfamiliar with Russian (English speakers, anyway) tend to imagine it as being rough sounding, which is to say, not very musical. It has more to do with the speaker/singer than the given language, though.
