  • I think there alot like metro pcs in CA. they are new. I spoke to a Rep And he did promise me the world. sounds like it is work in progress. he said to get out of the contract was 50 bucks, be careful. I will take the contract home if I go that way.

  • yeah fuck clearwire. cant play ponline fps with it thats for sure can hardly surf the web with it. i cant even watch the video without it stoping every 3 seconds i'm waiting for it to load right now and no my computer isnt a piece of shit clearwire/clear are the pieces of shit

  • I have clear service and I play my 360 online all the time and I take it to my friends house ...who doesnt have service and I can take the modem with me and he lives on the other side of town and it works just great and my mobile internet is the best thing ever . its way faster than the verizon air card I had and much much cheaper.

  • What they don't tell you about Clearwire is that you are locked into a contract after 7 days and have to pay an early termination fee that is a couple of hundred bucks. The signal can't go through double pained windows. Towers go down in bad weather and your service doesn't come back up for hours. This is a very deceptive company. This is why they will fail.

  • What Clearwire doesn't tell you is that even if your service doesn't work, you only have 7 days to cancel. If you miss that 7 days, you have to pay an early termination fee. You cannot use this for gaming. Only casual internet surfing and email. Over half the time it doesn't work and they are losing customer's left and right. That is why the company is in so much trouble.

  • I wouldn't say that...

I have constant 2.5 MB/S speed without Wi max..

I play X box live and MMO's without problems.

  • You are a lying sack of shit. I know for a fact that you wouldn't be able to use Clearwire's service to game without problems. You probably sell their lousy ass service and you are trying to convince people that it is worth it. It isn't, Clearwire sucks ass!

  • yes he is lying i have a laptop and home service this guy is full of it i have 2 clearwire connections and pay 75/mo for the best service they are limited by motorola equipment

  • Clearwire is a piece of shit. The sooner people realize that, the better off they will be. People shouldn't be forced to sign 2 year contracts for shitty service. Over half the time the modem doesn't pick up a signal. They are a bunch of liars.

  • @sickwiththetruth what city?

  • Australia's owned teleco Telstra has a mobile broadband service called Telstra NextG which is currently providing 6Mbps for Mobile phones and laptops and will be boosting the speeds upto an average of 21Mbps in the near furture which is great when you got a laptop so byebye ADSL, ADSL+ and probly not Cable because Telstra's cable broadband service offers up to 50Mbps downlink but superfast wireless broadband will be the best and you have the freedom of moving everywhere but its only in Austarlia

  • i foget to put in that it covers 99% of Australia's populating. just if you were wondering

  • wow, amazing, here in mexico just one company provides 3G wireless internet from anywhere in the country, but it costs like 50bucks p/month and that in mexico it's just too much

  • Oh that's cheap it cost $130/ month for 3G wireless 6Mbps Downlink and a 10GB download limit to it switches to Dail-up but I'm just using ADSL2+ (land line) at the moment coz it costs only $70 a month for 1.5Mbps downlink and 12GB download limit but I'm better of gettin a Telstra NextG compatible phone coz you can get data caps. Telstra is the only one that has this, Vodafone has HSPDA but only in citys like Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne and optus only has standard 3G.

  • But Vodafone and optus hasn't got good signal but like I said Telstra has covered 99% of the Population which is only like 21Million people (Gosh Australia's small LOL Tokyo city is like 28Million) but eveywhere on the east coast of Australia their is phone signal and their is hardly any Network failures coz it's not linked to one computer, it's a network of Computers and then the main Server so it can be rerouted on State Failures to avoid the damaged cell tower. It's pretty cool sortof

  • So far WiMax in Malaysia has been having alot of problems.......

  • how fast is 2 mbits?

  • i think 250kBps

  • Well a Megabyte is a unit of measuring file size and data transfer speeds

    • 1000 bytes = 1 KB (kilobyte)

    • 1000 Kilobyte = 1 MB (Megabyte)

    • 1000 Megabytes = 1 GB (Gigabyte)

    • 1000 Gigabyte = 1 TB (Terabyte)

An Average MP3 song is about 4MB so at 2 Megabytes per a second that's really fast

Sorry I hope I didn't confuse you I have a habit of that So i hope this anwsered you Question

  • Clearwire lies. You get up to 1.5mb and up to 250 on the upload. Those speeds are not constant. They fluctuate. Clearwire also manages the bandwith. If they see you using too much, they will throttle your speed. Their towers are always going down especially in bad weather. But they don't tell you this in the contract. You only have 7 days to cancel or you will pay an early termination fee.

  • Nice I wouldn't be surprised if their speeds are faster than CoX cables speeds I mean cox cable is FAST!

  • My dad works for clearwire and he says the speeds of wimax are going to be at around 6-10 mp/s.

  • Yeah right. Tell your dad to pull his head out of his ass. Clearwire sucks ass. That is why McCaw sold most of it to the partners. Ask your dad about the raise he wont be getting this year from Clearwire because they are losing so many customers. Oh and Clearwire shares have fallen to $3 per share. That company is pathetic
