  • Your eyes are intense :-) nice video, it helped a lot

  • wrong order :( ㅎ is aspirated.. perhaps the most aspirated lol

    ㄱ ㄴ ㄷ ㄹ ㅁ ㅂ ㅅ ㅇ ㅈ ㅊ ㅋ ㅌ ㅍ ㅎ

  • @gyoshilxxidea Thanks for your comment, I appreciate all constructive criticism. The reason I placed the ㅎ with the singular consonants was because it does not visually resemble any other singular consonants - i.e. ㅊ resembles ㅈ, ㅋ resembles ㄱ and so on. Therefore my video is not in the 'official' alphabetical/dictionary order. Thank you also for writing the apparent 'official' or dictionary order of the alphabet, though that should then include also the ㄲ, ㄸ, ㅃ and ㅆ.

  • @teenamja Well, if you were going for that, the "singular consonants" should've been ㄱ, ㄴ, ㅁ, ㅅ, and ㅇ because ㅎ comes from (and thus visually resembles) ㅇ, ㄷ comes from ㄴ, ㅂ comes from ㅁ, ㅈ comes from ㅅ, etc. I'm not trying to argue with you, I just wanted to point this out.

  • @gyoshilxxidea Aha, I think you're going back to the linguistic origins of each letter, whereas I just saw ㄱ, ㄴ,ㄷ,ㄹ,ㅁ,ㅂ,ㅅ,ㅈ,ㅇ and ㅎ as 'singular', ㄲ, ㄸ, ㅃ and ㅆ as 'double', and ㅋ, ㅌ, ㅍ and ㅊ as 'aspirated'.

What I was trying to say was: ㄱ resembles ㅋ, k and k' may be learned together, and because ㅂ resembles ㅍ, b and p' may be learned together, and so on.

I didn't see it that helpful to point out that ㅈ comes from ㅅ, ㅂ from ㅁ etc, as I didn't think that it really helps with pronunciation.

  • @teenamja Though that is another interesting topic relating to Hangul (the throat/mouth/tongue positions) and its 'origins', but I should think that that'd be another debate for another video :)

  • i have to echo the comments here, thanks alot for helping me out with Korean!! It's so fun to learn Hangul! I'm a complete novice but am really enjoying using symbols to write :)

it took me a while but deciphering '오마이갓' was a fun exercise! and saying 갓 really helps to practise pronounciation of the soft t
