@potatopac And what are you basing that on? What do you think the length of master Zhou's spear? Never heard of "normal spear" there are only different spear forms and no "normal" or "abnormal"
Of course it's not a NORMAL spear,no spear is NORMAL,but what i'm tryin' to say is that (god knows which spear that is if it isn't 6 harmony) I found a website,it said that baji 6 harmony was 10 foot long and heavy as hell, maybe I was wrong. That one looks 7-8 feet.but hey,who cares?the point is he's skilled right?
Oh yeah,at 1:06 it looks like he's mopping the floor lol.
yer vids are awesome.though, and master Zhou should start growing a beard..a master with a beard kicks ass.
Wow, was I surprised to see this set. I started this routine about 12 years ago from a Sifu Liu who was an exponent of Liuhequan. Can I ask the history of this set>
Shame I wasn't able to finish it as my teacher left NYC.
I find this video less impressive than the other ones. I don't know baji but I thought wierd that he didn't turn his kuas when he striked. The footwork seemed good but I didn't have the feeling that his body was connected. Must be me, because I've seen the other videos and I sort of know what he can do so don't get me wrong if i am pessimistic...
The Shidi who made the video told me that, master Zhou performed the form casualy (sui bian), so he was disapointed that one can't see any of the actual Shen-fa.
From my long acquaintance with master Zhou I can tell he is not so enthusiastic about showing the shen fa.
Nevertheless, big turning of kua can be seen in beginners. The better you get the smaller are the turns. One can see it very clearly in his Lan-na-za combination, you can hardly see him move and the spear is turning violently
I've been watching his piqua, baji and xing yi stuff, exellent body controle even if they try to hide it, it shows. I'm planning to go to china for my tuina studies but hope to get to meet this man. He reminds me of sifu mike martello. Especially the way he moves. thanks for posting, really
Superb stuff! Thanks for posting. I learn and teach Nin-Jutsu over here in the U.K but have always wanted to learn Baji Quan alongside it. Can't find anywhere near me though! :(
Sorry,but thats not a 6 harmony spear.it's a normal spear
six harmony spears are 10 feet long and made out of hard wood...
not that the vid is bad or anything.

Top Notch!! I've been waiting to see your spear method in more detail, this is fantastic.

Thanks :-)
It was taken during a class in Xi-gu park. Master Zhou performed the form in order to show it's flow to a student who is studying it.
My favorite is his lan-na-zha.

This is great. It makes me a bit nostalgic, remembring the lessons I had with Master Zhou at XiGu.
I hope we can get somewhere in the future a video of him doing the form with full Shen Fa- then he is realy impressive!
