In addition to these comments, you don't have to prove God's existence scientifically for him to be real. He exists, and holds the entire universe in his hand whether or not scientists like it, or believe it. Even scientists depend on history to help them with their findings.

As far as pragmatic backing, there are literally millions who can and will tell you of the help we receive from our relationship with God. Very pragmatic. I don't expect you to believe or understand what I am saying. However, when it comes to dogmatism nobody beats the scientific establishment. Many of their sacred doctrines are dearly held without backing. Want proof? So do I. Prove that dark matter and dark energy exist. You can't, yet theoretical physicists strenuously defend their existence.

Since you choose to ignore all other aspects of science, I can say with confidence that dark matter and dark energy have more backing than religion. NASA and others have found plenty of evidence suggesting dark matter and energy or something of the like, which is more than anybody can say about Christianity.

@quenwolf --Hey, I'll be 'anybody'...Dark matter is the term for the 'hypothesized matter' in the universe and tries to explain the missing mass problem of the standard cosmological / big bang model. Dark matter supposedly interacts with normal matter by gravity, but does not absorb or emit radiation, and thus cannot be seen...Now that takes faith...You have a faith in something that cannot be seen. That Christ 'existed' is a fact...you can look at the historic documents.
