People do not appreciate this video. I actually like Ayn, but don't always agree on everything. This skit captures Ayn's personality and how she actually spoke. I give her an A+ for conveying how Ayn did carry herself in interviews and when challenged with questions. I think if people studied Ayn speech pattern, this lady nailed it. I found it funny. The puppet mouth makes it funnier. And the cigarette that pops up is funny too as Ayn was a chain smoker.

I do like the impersonation of Ayn Rand though, she does come off as arrogant and outspoken about objectism as the only real philosophy since aristotle (she does say this in some interviews)

This is the worst satirical representation of any writer I've ever seen. The creator of the video obviously never understood the two authors' works in depth. It's as if an eleven-year-old girl snuck into her sister's college class and "cliff-noted" this sketch just before presentation day. If Larry the Cable Guy had an antisocial, liberal daughter with a voice modulator locked away in his basement, this would be the resulting comedy.

How could you assume that the creator of this video does not understand the work of these authors when the video is obviously made to be a half-baked parody and nothing else? Even considering the result of a meeting between Rand and Hemingway is hysterical and original. Recognizing them as antipodes in American literature is more insightful than you might imagine.

Next, she showed her utter contempt for free speech by testifying before the House Committee on Unamerican Activities, a fascist pogrom against "thought criminals". She stole another woman's husband, cheated on her own, and then smeared her boyfriend later in life. In sum, there is nothing about Ayn Rand to admire.

@SpellboundSolution Did you fight freely with no pay? If not then you fought for wages, not the idea, which is what it is- just an idea. We have great emotion attached to this idea. And in turn this strong emotion causes us to become weak. We should act with logic, not emotion. Freedom is not realistic as 99.99% of people must trade their labor in exchange for life necessities, which in fact means we are bound by certain rules . Therefore, because we are bound we can never truly be free.

She does not at all advocated anarchy, and I think you know very well that such a suggestion is absurd. Society would be regulated as described in two essays by Rand: "Government Financing in a Free Society" and

This is terribly made. Not only did you badly understand the purpose of Ayn Rand's books, but you misunderstood the point of her characters' perfection and how it helps her to prove her point. I don't know very much about Ernest Hemingway, but the way you made Rand into a puppet that isn't able to properly defend herself is disgusting. It's bias, badly made, and not at all her words. Re-read what you're talking about and look up some interviews of her, and you might understand her intentions.

Your Hemingway is off. (Perhaps you're more of a natural at women.) Hemingway was a stoic, tough, manly man of few (but exact) words, serious and reserved (but masking deep wounds and his voice/accent was not manly, his soul was).
He was also a notorious drinker and obsessed with bullfighter's focus in the face of danger...
Do another with him and F. Scott Fitzgerald. Hemingway hated that Fitzgerald couldn't drink as much, even if for medical reasons...
