@crocz Maybe I should have been clearer. Most of the music I write is in 15/16 5/4 7/8 9/8 13/16 and so on, is it possible to write in such time signatures in a tracker. Aaron Funk(aka Venetian Snares) adores cubase for some reason and relies heavily and vstis a decent amount of his input comes from piano rolls and his output. But is it possible in a tracker? (just to be extra clear cubase is not a tracker :S)
@vincentizghra Venetian Snares has used Renoise since 2006 to this day almost exclusively. In his early days he also used OctaMED a lot. There is a video of his track Vache playing in it, take a look at it. And yes, it is very possible to make music in any time signature in a tracker.
@crocz Yea rossz is from 2004 I believe in a breakcore documentary from 2007 he says he almost exclusively uses Cubase. After some more research it seems obvious that trackers don't have a clue about time signatures anyway so you can write in any time signature but you will never have any indication of what time signature you're writing in. 1/32 all the way.

But I don't think our cultural heritage should define what we do with wish to create. Some culture has 7/4 as standard.
@legalyzefreed0m You could run this program on Mac by using a virtual machine on your Mac installing windows on it... Or you can use a windows emulator.
But the easiest way is to simply download the Mac version form the Milkytracker homepage. ;)
How to learn: 1. It is essential that you know the effects. For starters 0XX, 9XX, AXX, FXX and RXX are most important if you ask me. 2. You need to understand the hexadecimal system. Where decimal is a 10-base system, hex is base-16. 0 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 A B C D E F. F equals 15. 10 equals 16. 3. Now use these together; These examples I've used a lot. samp R03 - R02 - R01 Samp AFF LoopSamp 940 LoopSamp 980 Play around and you will get it :)
milky tracker is a rather easy program to use and well theres plenty of tut videos on the official site along with a whole host of links to other site full of lovely people to help... just ask, we're not that scary
Yes, when you run it click on the program's icon at the top left corner of the window. From there click on "Preferences...", select your MIDI device from the combo box and check the Enable MIDI device checkbox. I have a USB M-Audio MIDI keyboard and i can use it to enter notes with Milkytracker.
Note that if you want to test the samples it would be a nice idea to enable "Jam channels" from the options because
It's amazing how different trackers (as in people who use trackers) all have their own ways of doing things. I know most of the stuff you showed here but I was doing it in different order sometimes, different ways. Trough only LOOKING at yourself putting in notes and effects I've learned a lot.

I got a question. What did that number mean? The white are the notes, the bue is the instrument. but what about the green and the pink/yellow numbers?

The software used to give you a fake key to activate the programs are called keygens.
Most of the time, traditionally, they have chip tunes/other 8bit music playing in the background of the program. So... yea...

To ass notes, you need to have the recording option on. Pressing spacebar should work. Other than that it's hard to say what's wrong.
