  • How can ANYONE be so CUTE?????!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Millie *wasn't* a one hit wonder! One hit wonders put one hit out and disappear. Millie wasn't a 'world beater' again but she kept recoding and kept pleasing her fans!

  • She is Jamaican

  • It's obvious it's Millie speaking...

  • i mean we speak dialect or patois or creole what ever u want to call it but not all the time. when u are in certain places for some reason it is just expected that u use standard english rather than dialect

  • okkkkkkkkk well im west indian and just so the ppl who feel as though her voice was dubbed or what ever it has more to do with the time she grew up in cz my grandmother speaks the same way due to the colonial education they received :s yall should note that around this time most British Caribbean islands were gaining full independence from England

  • Millie was not a one-hit wonder. Subsequent recordings such as "Sweet William" and "Bloodshot Eyes", both charted in the UK at numbers 30 and 48, respectively.

  • im not mean shes was sorta pretty when she got older its probably her hair style but she is ugly in this interview im not mean and i respect that she started singing at such a young age as an nlack person int the 60`s im black to so dont call me racist

  • PIENI YLLÄRI!! Toi juontaja kuullostaa ihan karmeelta pervolta!!

  • I AM NOT SO TRESS: YOU SHOULD KNOW THAT JAMAICANS SPEAK PERFECT ENGLISH SO I DO NOT UNDERSTAND YOUR COMMENT ABOUT PATOIS OR MAYBE YOU DO NOT

  • SOLID ROCK YOU SHOULD KNOW THAT JAMAICANS SPEAK PERFECT ENGLISH SO I DO NOT UNDERSTAND YOUR COMMENT ABOUT PATOIS

  • Tämäpa oli yllätys meikäläisille et neitti on käynyt Suomessa ja vieläpä YLEn haastattelussa mun piti etsii sen biisiä mut sitten tulikin tämä

  • vähän random et tää on suomeks

  • Woooo. She sounds like the lady from "Gone With the Wind". ...."I don't know nothin' 'bout birthin' no babies." I think her name was Millie too.

  • Wow is she adorable or what?

Lovely smile, and she's sexy but innocent at the same time; a rare combi nowadays...

  • Chris Blackwell, the vampire destroyed her

  • She is 63 today and I am glad that I now know who song that famous song: "My boy lolli pop" which I loved.

  • Nice to see her still around, I remember her in the early 60's she came to Shepperton studios to do "My boy lollipop" for a music film we were making at the time.....she also had her 15th birthday party on the set, pleasant memories of you Millie!!

  • One of those artists that will always be remembered. Who brought something extra with her. A real artist. Belong up there with Celine Dion, Michael Jackson, and many many more. The ones who have that "thing" that the others dont. Thanks Millie!

  • MIllie was a real hot ticket in her day. Very sexy!

  • she sounds so hot as well as looks attractive as hell.

  • bahama born NOT..

    born in Clarendon,Jamaica.

  • thank u @mepipeline

  • thank u @johlufc

  • is milly small still alive?

  • Alive and well.

  • She's aged gracefully, a healthy, beautiful 64 year old single mom, financially secured and content.

    Resides in U.K.and Singapore.

    Bahama born, Millie Small.

  • Millie born Millicent Small, 6 October 1946, Clarendon, Jamaica

  • Gladly Millie Small is by no means a "one hit wonder" she enjoyed hits before and after "My Boy Lollipop", her only international hit; as evidenced by her You Tube lists of songs. Plus she had hits, with her singing partner Roy Panton. The very first Jamaican singing sensation, had quite the career in Europe and was always a major pop star! A little trivia to show her importance: the harmonica break in "My Boy Lollipop" was played by non other than Rod Stewart before his star break for real.

  • Millie was IT!!!!! Check out the girl from Sprockets behind her......Where's Dieter?

  • simply beautiful, Milly you are perfect.

  • She's gorgeous! Love her voice, and style.

  • There are many contracting comments about this lovely lady.

What can really be the truth? Is there an update anyone? Thanks

  • She looks Filipino.

  • Millie doesn't look like anything but a beautiful black woman. This gal was so cute. I wish we had young black women like her in showbiz today ...instead of all these hoochies playing with thug wannabes.

  • I agree with you and she is beautifully lady-like, feminine , elegant and pleasing to the eye. She still looks Filipina to me.

  • I would not surprised if she is Asian mixed. Her family is very mixed on her father's side.

  • Yes you are right and. And there is a Chinese community in Jamaica as there is a Japanese community in Brazil, for everyone's information!

Naomi Campbell has Chinese blood in her.

  • alicia keys springs to mind.

  • thats what they all say

  • She is BEAUTIFUL, and I agree gandy74: she looks like a young Whitney Houston.

  • Lol

  • horrivel a detesto

  • What a beautiful girl - and a great song. Thanks for posting this rarity.

  • nice girl where is she now ?

  • Actually she live in ENgland with her adult daughter studying at Music & Art School.

  • Im very happy for her, Are we talking about millie Jackson ? If so I met her Edinburgh 64 great singer and a nice person.

  • Millie (born Millicent Small, 6 October 1946, Clarendon, Jamaica) was often known as "Little Millie Small", and in the United States as "Millie Small", and is best known as the singer of the 1964 hit, "My Boy Lollipop". She had a brief relationship with Peter Asher, part of the Peter & Gordon 1960s duo, and the brother of Jane Asher .

She lived in Singapore from 1971 to 1973 before returning to the UK which is now her home. She has an adult daughter, who is studying art and the music industry.

  • She looks like Sinita, Toyboy fame

  • fea ukge jwekw fea chris woddle uyef kuqr ruquqr yr gu

  • she's beautiful! man!!!

    HoTt!!

  • She looks like a young Whitney Houston.

  • The filmed footage is obviously from rehearsals in the TV studio. It looks like they are setting the lights. My guess is that this is an interview made for a TV show in Finland and somehow the camera stopped working while the audio tape didn't. So they just mixed it with this footage in lack of a better idea.

  • Contrary to legend, the harmonica player was not Rod Stewart but Pete Hogman of The Pete Hogman Blues Band and Hoggie & The Sharpetones. (thanks, Nigel Foster - Isle of Wight, England)

  • shame she only had one big hit.

  • She is really pretty!

  • It's idiots like GodsDaughter 19 that disobey God by staring and repeating nasty rumours.

    Millie is alive and well.

  • The interviewer is dubbed, and that is in Finnish not German, for the viewers convenience, coz this clip was made by and shown on Finnish National TV. Millie's answers are not dubbed.

  • Oh yes it is. Meaning, they did a voice over of Millie's original accent, because it was strong for European audiences, and replaced it with a British accent to make her more appealing to the public. I don't expect her to have broken English, but obviously her singing voice is different from this interview. It's not her real voice. They use to do the same thing in the early James Bond movies.

  • Nevermind....it might be her real voice :S

  • @Solidrock57 .... hmm, I'm not sure, but I don't think it was dubbed either. You never know, she may have used "this voice" for her foreign interviews, no doubt she would've been more comfortable in her own native tongue. But face it Solid, she had to know that foreigners would not recognize the english in patois. She had to practice 'their language' in order to be understood. It was her chance and she took it, be happy for her!!! BTW, I love this song!

  • Oh Hell No. Her voice was dubbed. I don't believe she spoke like that. So typical of what was done at that time. If the accent wasn't British or American, it had to be dubbed >:(

  • That is not DUBBED!

  • Yes it is. Her accent has been watered down.

  • She's neither British nor American. She's Jamaican, hence her accent.

  • @cstar88 ................... Woooo. She sounds like the lady from "Gone With the Wind". ...."I don't know nothin' 'bout birthin' no babies." I think her name was Millie too. That singing is ooo weee.

  • @cstar88 She's from Jamaica, so the accent is authentic

  • Yes, she really was very cute.

  • well isnt see a cutie

  • She is not dead. She lives in the UK and had a couple of hits on the charts there, and she is from Jamaica. It's all on Wikipedia if you'd care to check it out.

  • Ooh, let me help with the trivia! She has a 22-year-old daughter who is studying music. She was so cute it's a shame she didn't do more records and stuff.

  • I have not found any info about that, but if I do find anything, I'll let you know.

  • She is in the studios recording but do not do tours.

  • my mom knew her

  • She's alive and her last album "Time will tell" came out in 2004.

  • Time will tell LP on Trojan Records came out in 1970 - think you are a little outa synch mate !

  • ... what language is this?

    it sounds like old english...

  • Narrators language is Finnish.

  • um she is NOT dead.

  • sorry to burst your bublr but the milicent small died a number of years ago. And the sad part is that she like many jamaican and american recording artists died poor because of glutonus record copmanyies but the thief who stole from smal is no other than chriss blackwell of island records.

  • I am a family member and has heard that she is still alive but the last part of your statement I heard is true. I also heard some more things but it is private only for the family. Only she should tell her own story.

  • sorry to burst your bublr but the milicent small died a number of years ago. And the sad part is that she like many jamaican and american recording artists died poor because of glutonus record copmanyies but the thief who stole from smal is no other than chriss blackwell of island records.
