  • absolutely wonderful.. "You Are Love" is a beautiful song, and this is beautifully performed.

And this Showboat is the all time classic musical .

    Thanks for posting this

  • All this part is great, and so beautiful

  • these 2 are the gems of the movie!

  • Did anyone notice the box of Aunt Jemima pancake mix at 8:30? I think it was put in as a nod to Tess Gardella who used to dress up as A.J. and who played Queenie in Showboat on Broadway. The only problem is that this scene takes place in the 1880s and I think the company came out much later. can anyone find out?

  • Aunt Jemima was introduced in 1889, and that scene is either set in that year or just later.

  • @ Nu13th - I'm really sorry for giving you a down thumb. I was trying to give you an up thumb but I clicked on the wrong thing. I've tried to figure out how to fix it but I can't seem to find out how. I'm sorry :( I love this movie and Hattie McDaniel is definitely awesome! She and Paul Robeson both!

  • Hattie McDaniel Is a Great actrice ans singer she lived a great life

  • At 5.24 minutes is the amusing song "I Still Suits Me" sung by Paul Robeson and Hatty McDaniel add her opinion, and for me it's the highlight of the whole movie! Great fun and so entertaining, all husbands should hear it, haha.
