How is the G.Skill pi series. I heard its got 1.5v@stock and overclocks crazy and has a funky heatsink. Have you compared it with other memory? I didn't find any legit reviews or someone in the forum talking about it. you could tell me!
its actually 1.65V stock. i keep it at 1.65V and overclocked my cpu to 4.5GHz easily!
the heatsink is kinda crazy looking but it needs it to dissipate all the heat it ouputs, especially with a overclocked cpu and the RAM being slightly overclocked at 1780MHz (or something like that).
forgot to add. i plan to start reviews when i get a propper camera.. this phone camera is so crap, so is the HD camcorder dad got (cant change aspect ration) on the HMX-H105
i've been asked for a review for the ram and for my BenQ G2400WD 24" HD LCD.
i will say they are both excellent, and that i cant wait to get a new camera to review them with
i get roughly 80-85C 100% load at 4.5GHz with a good cooler.
i cant check the setting right now because my motherboard is in warranty, but when i get it back and overclock again i will tell you. add me to friends.
get a good cooler. the prolimatech megashadow deluxe i'm using right now is really good with 2 coolermaster 90cfm 2000rpm fans blowing on a push/pull setup.
can you explain whats the point of having a really good hard drive? like you have 750 gigs of ram that you will never use up. I have had my computer since 2005 and have maybe used 30 gigs tops of the 250 it came with. I got a new rig but i just don't get the point of this 750gig and 1t gig shit. Please explain
no i do not have a 750gigs of ram - that is not even what i said.i wont use it up aye? how would you know this. i am running 3 operating systems on that hard drive and the windows vista boot uses around 300GB in games and files in the my documents folder. the 1TB drive is for storage, the other 1TB drive is for backup. so no i do not have to much space, i am actually running out of space having used 900GB already.
set it up myself, i think ive burnt the core 2 duo i had in there and put the core i7 back in there, but with 2x1tb and 1 x 750gb hdds (1tb storage, 1tb backup, 750gb boot which has ubuntu 9.04 x64, vista ultimate x64, 7 ultimate x64 in a triple boot)
oh thats good to hear, i just bought a Razer Lycosa gaming keyboard for my second pc that i am building, this cpu, keyboard, mouse and motherboard work very well, as well as the cpu overclocks well with some good ram (just got some OCZ reader 8500)
Except the boot disk a single drive not in a RAID config. I think it would be cost effective to do a RAID 0 of the boot partition. Or if feeling rich... Buy 3x1TB haha or SSD. Looks like you have 1 sata port free, you should consider finding another 750GB WD drive. Everything else is AWESOME, and you are one of only a few people who have a large enough monitor to take advantage of blu-ray on a computer.
when you get your AS5 tube, just put a tiny little ball in the middle. it'll dissipate the heat more effectively. also make sure you use the proper type of alcohol and a coffee filter thing when cleaning off the fail.
Wow, that was hot. Much hotter than mine gets. I've got a Zalmann CNPS9900 air cooling my i7 920. Overclocked at 3.6 like yours I only hit the upper 50s C.
so is mine at 100% load with prime95 x64 running. It is down by the desk now with not as good of circulation and it is still maxed out at 65c after about 10 min at 100% load.
holy shit dude thats way to high

What are your settings? I'm using an Asus P6T SE and American Megatrends BIOS. 4.1 GHZ is too much for the P6t SE.. 92 C 100%

i guess i might have not used enough thermal paste.. i was at the end of my OCZ freeze extreme tube..
that is why i ordered the best thermal paste i know of for my watercooling - arctic silver 5 i think

The only thing is IMO, having a black & a Silver monitor don't match. Perhaps get another BenQ Monitor if you have the money
