  • love this, thanks for sharing!

  • You're welcome!

  • rickyon-- i think its great you share all these videos with us Kansas fans! thanks so much really!

  • You're welcome! It is really my pleasure!

  • Esta es mi banda favorita...llena de ritmos cambios diferentes estados es alucinante escucharlos todos los dias.Muy buen trabajo.

  • This is close to being my favorite Kansas song. As far as Steve's voice is concerned, I think the band needs a second keyboard player so he can concentrate more on the singing like when Kerry was in the band and handled the more intricate keyboard parts.

  • So Steve's voice is better? It used to be perfect, but it really fell apart there for a while. I was bitterly disappointed withe the cd they put out with the London Symphony, I listened to it once....and I know every note of their albums except In The Spirit of Things. (Which is hard to find, I had it on cassette years ago....)

  • Did Rich Wiiliams idolize David Bowie's HALLOWEEN JACK incarnation, or is he really missing an eye?

  • He's really missing an eye due to a childhood accident.

  • Thanx so much for this!!! I was at this show,my first time seeing my favorite group !It was an outstanding concert!

  • You're welcome!

  • I was THERE and they were GREAT ! Steve Walsh was amazing, actually whole band was so tight.... thank you Kansas.

  • Superior live tune of this excellent classic

  • Excellent recording. I only wish your pics of the group were more of the era of the recording, instead of current.

  • I do so many of these slideshow vids that I have to use pics that are not of the time period so they don't all start looking the same!. Even though I have hundreds of pics they are spread out through 43 years of the bands history. The pics are something to look at while you listen to these great live performances. Sort of a bonus, icing on the cake.

  • To everyone that has never seen Kansas live... GO!!! The next time they come to your city. I've been a fan since about 1975. I've probably seen them a dozen times and they ALWAYS deliver the goods!!!!!!

  • Excellent recording. This band was at the top of their game during this concert. Saw them a few months earlier in St. Louis what a band and what a time in my life. Kansas is the band of my life time. I was into bubble gum music until one saturday night when I was 15 and I happened to turn the Tv to Don Kershner's Rock Concert and Kansas was on and they blew my mind. Ever since that moment they have been my favorite band. Thanks for posting

  • You're welcome Zeke.

  • I was at this concert- it was AWESOME! Wish this was the vid.

  • I first heard this song when I was a freshman in college in 1979. I remember the emtional feeling I had and still get when I listen to this. One of the most unbeliveable songs on one of the all-time best rock albums ever. Never had the opportunity to see them live, they just don't come to my area. Thank you for posting.

  • A very moving and touching song about the plight of the American Indian! This was a big topic for Kerry Livgren when writing material. The other bigger topic for him was his spiritual pilgrimage or search for answers regarding religion.

  • Rock on rickyon! Thanks for all of the Kansas uploads.

    jg

  • You're Welcome jg.

  • Robbie said this was his favorite that Kerry wrote!I've seen them 4 times, back in the day last time '97,2 weeks later I was in Kansas to see my son graduate!

  • Met these guys personally in Y2K. They were so cool, because they humped all their own shit themselves...set up their stage and connected everything...and after the show I got to ride in the elevator with them...and I remember freaking out until Dave told me that it didn't matter to them if they played for 200 or 200,000. How cool is that? They just wanted to get out and PLAY!!!

Thank you for this post, most sincerely!!!

    OUTSIDETHEBOCKS

  • You're welcome! How are things outside?

  • Rick, do you have the entire concert from this show? By the way, can you post some tunes from the first 2 Protokaw cd's? Early Recordings, and Before Became After? Kerry and "Kansas II" need some love on YouTube

  • Hey Marc, I don't have anything else from this show. It was a bonus track on the remastered "Leftoverture" CD. Glixman said that the band was recording the show and he loved how this sounded so immediately afterward he mixed this tape in the remote truck. I will definitely put up some Proto-Kaw but my plate has been pretty full recently so give me some time.

  • very good

  • Classic rock!!!! Classic KANSAS!!!! Love this song!!! God Bless Kansas!!!

  • amazing, check out magnum opus. classic kansas good people...

  • Excellent

  • RICKYon ROCKS I ON !

    Too Dang Kool : )

  • Another Classic Kansas song!!! Very inspiriational and spiritual!!! Carry On!

  • The entire Monolith album was played at the start of the Monolith tour. They also did Opus Insert on that tour. They played "it takes A Womens Love" as their encore in 75/76.. To my knowledge: Questions of my childhood, its you, 2 cents worth, the pilgrimage, backdoor, curtain of iron, and no room for a stranger were never played live. Kerry said "The Devil Game" was performed maybe 5 times live

  • Ive heard a near perfect version of "Lamplight Symphony" done in its entirety, and early version of "Incomudro", "All The World" from 76, brillant piece. "Lightnings Hand" from early in the POKR tourand an unreleased track called "Love Is A Dream" which the middle part ended up going on "The Wall" which is why Walsh got a writing credit on that song. Hope this clarifies some rare live Kansas questions

  • I'd love to know where that version of "Lamplight Symphony" came from! Do you have a link or was it a cd or some other form of audio? If I can get it I'll put it up!

  • Hey dude are you sure you've got the right information for this one? I'm pretty sure live at Palladium was in 1980 (unless perhaps this is a different performance than the one that I have and that shows up in the google searches). Also strange, this doesn't sound like my recording from Palladium... but hey, correct me if I'm wrong. Just a thought.

  • It must be a different performance. It's the other bonus track on the remastered LEFTOVERTURE CD. The info is from the little booklet that comes with the CD. It's an exceptional performance isn't it?

  • LOL, realization hit me after the other video :P. Perhaps I should look at that pamphlet (I do have the CD after all). Most Kansas performances were exception :D, but yes it is. I wonder what other great performances they have hidden away in the vaults...

  • Many I'm sure! They seem to dole out a couple here and there when they remaster something or when they hit the 5 year anniversary marks. Also when a best of or box set is released. The question is what do you have hidden away in your vault?

  • Looking for anything in particular, like I said: I've scoured the web for any Live Kansas I can find (my friends tell me I'm obsessed :P).
