I thought it was a little too short and repetitious, i think you could have gotten the point of constantly climbing stairs across just as well with more of a diversity of shots. It seemed a little like a montage section of a documentary about stairs. I thought that audio like "stairs were invented in 1300B.C.E. by the Greeks..." would have fit over it nicely, lol.
Interesting and visually appealing, but extremely short being less than a minute of actual content. Also, the production label and credits seem to actually outshine the part to be graded.
That's exactly what I said to myself when I made it - I debated whether or not to put the extra on, but I typically do and I had more fun doing that then the short - so I did. lol.
I think you did a great job of giving the sense of repetition of climbing the stairs. It reminded me of just about every time I am walking around from class to class.
empathy right there. I gave my highschool friend a tour of the campus a couple months ago and had to warn him: "you get really really sick of stairs after a week or so."
so ridiculous.
I like the piece but it seemed narrow. I know that's what you were going for, but i dunno if i would have done the same.
I liked the idea, but I agree with Mike, I feel like it didn't say much about RPI or how you perceive it except that there are lots of ppl walking up stairs.
Okay...slightly confused...so the piece that is for Project 1 is all the stair-climbing, right?
I like the concept, it just seems a little....simple (no offense). Like while it's a bunch of different shots, it's all the same content, so it's not saying a large variety of things.
Even within the framework, you could have made the shots a bit more emotional. If you wanted to convey monotony, you could have done stuff like repeated the same shot, or the same scene with a million different angles
Yes, that is the piece - I had a little fun with the left over shots. The beginning is my production label - I do 3D animation, so holding a camera is new - normally I just play with a virtual one.
Yes, I went for simple - you got the idea though - that is what matters. Of course it could be better, thanks for the suggestions!

that was another idea I had. lol. "stairs were invented in ... and RPI holds this momentous engineering highly." something like that.

Well there is a lot of repetition in climbing stairs. Use of repetitive cuts could help drive that point.

This is a different approach indeed but interesting nonetheless.
I'm not sure whether the emotions are coming from the people climbing the stairs or whether it's just the stairs though...
