Therefore, funding may seem like effort, but in context, this has more "effort" put into it than Evolution.

Like others have said, if these people had more funding, they would make a great live action Dragon Ball movie.

@Rachiewoowoo Effort doesn't have to mean, in an adaptation, it has to stick to the story.

For example, take Wizard of Oz -- look at everything they (the studio) did to the original story, all that they added and subtracted and change into something completely unrecognizable. And yet, the movie remains, to this day, a classic in cinema -- and it had to earn its way there, the agonizingly long way.

The people behind a movie can respect the original material, even worship it, but put some big bucks behind it and you have a movie that's made to make money. People can try all they'd like to make a good movie, but if what the suits are the ones to direct you the other way... well, like I said. Their efforts were misguided.

And the people behind *this* atrocity? Who's to say they, or China (the other live-action movie), wouldn't do the same?

But, with the limited funding they had, they did try and make the best out of it and put out the effort.

Right, who's to say they wouldn't. Then again, who's to say they will? I think the only way to settle this is to see what the creators/director I suppose of Evolution would do with limited funding.

Anyway, Evolution *wasn't* a good movie.. if "the suits" really wanted more income from the box office, they should've stuck to the story more.
