Hitler intended world peace. He was trying to go after the Ashkenazi Jews. They are elite bankers. These people plotted WWI. Germany's money was failing like you cant imagine. One of the first things Hitler did was issue his own currency. In 5 years of doing so, millions of Germans were put to work. Germany had the strongest economy in Europe. I have heard people saying Hitler was a hero, I just ignored them. But I'm starting to really wonder about whats truly happening to the world today.

@Donatello2030 you are absolutely correct. hitler must have appeared as a saviour to a demoralised nation. in the later stages, however, many people knew about the camps and the mass killings. many german women knew about the killing of inocent children, women who have a strong nurturing instinct, but did nothing. it seems to me that the wrong questions were asked at nuremberg, instead of asking 'how?', the question should have been 'why?'. it is a facinating but shameful part of our history.

Germany/Prussia had been a monarchy for centuries and was comfortable with having a single strong and patriotic ruler. They had only been a democracy for 15 years before Hitler came to power and in that time the nation was always on the brink of collapse. Up to 1940 Hitler was everything the people wanted and needed. He was an Emperor without the pomp and snobbery of royalty.

What he achieved in his first 5 yrs in power was admired by most western governments as well as Germans.

Until 1938 Hitler was content to force Jews to leave Germany and the people in general approved. The mass exterminations that started in 1941 took place well away from the major cities and info coming out of the death camps was heavily restricted. By this time Germany was at war with UK, USA and Russia. Germans were subject to bombing raids day and night and the constant threat of the Gestapo. They were focussed on surviving not on the fate of the Jews and were under martial law.
