My guess for kabegiwa as to why he throws the coins out so much, he uses them to keep RF in lockdown, but also as a projectile destroyer. and when he DOES get a hit with the coins he saves them for a certain time to set-up for a combo. but that's my poorly made guess. feel free to ignore this comment if this makes no sense.
as far as i've noticed watching kabegiwa, he seems to know 'coinless johnny' very well. he also has excellent use of tension. there are things i don't like about his game, but i do love these aspects. something to put towards my own johnny.
it may just be me but a lot of the kabegiwa no dc matches i watch he seems to be really careless with his coin(he throws them out like ryu would throw out his fireball) is there a reason for this..? is it just because he's confident enough in his game that he believes he doesn't need coins in late match situations..?

I remember hearing something to that effect... it wasn't quite the same, but I think your idea is pretty close to being accurate.
