WoW began 4 years later(lore-wise as they say in intro "4 years has passed since the mortal races" etc) so perhaps 4 and a half or at most 5 years

arthas didn't begin his attack on azeroth direcly, so we can add a years or two, let's say 6-7 years total that he sat on the frozen throne before finally standing up and leading the scourge.

It means he has been sitting there for 4 years minus the time of frozen throne campaign :) Kel Thuzad mentions - while talking about dreadlords in Undead campaign that It has been months since the legion was defeated. So more careful assumption will state he was there for about 3 years + WoW classic and Burning Crusade :) Am I right? :)

Ah, if only the game lived up to the glory of this cinematic. Ever since the final patch of TBC it all started slipping down. Ulduar was a new hope that only ended up being proceeded by disappointment as wow turned into the empty vessel it is today. To think, in Vanilla I ultimately was eager to be able to fight the Lich King. I quit before it and never felt the passion to even play to do just that.
