Excellent perspective. Definitely didn't feel like a 13min video. I could've listened to her for at least another 20min without being bored. Thanks to the both of you!
Sundance- you are completely admirable for the decision you made based on your lifestyle goals...you speak so eloquently and are so entertaining to listen to...this video was so informative on differences between the two careers and couldn't have been stated better than from someone as yourself...thanks for the video!!!
Excellent interview with a great guest. Please please please do more :( Sincerely, current international 3rd yr med student switching to a PA program soon for pretty much the same reasons as her (a focus on family and...my life, not just medicine).
@LuckyDukeSeven Yes, as I understand it, Sundance has debt, alright. But according to her, it's been worth it because it allowed her to be in just the right field. That's passion, man. Love it.
@NYCdude321 CNA is a good way to start. But I think you'll find that many schools would prefer other types where you are making more of the decisions about your patient's care (EMT, paramedic, respiratory therapist, physical therapy, medical assistant, etc.)
But as a place to start, CNA is a fast and helpful.
Good for her! I'm in my residency program, and I have no time for anything. And what little time I have isn't sufficient to do much. I encouraged a friend of mine who wanted to get into healthcare by didn't want the intense physician's commitment to take a look into PA school. PA's are really helpful around the hospital, and usually have fantastic bedside manner. I try to be as bubbly as possible, but I work so much that it's a little hard. PA's are a valuable asset.
Great video. I'm an NP and agree that having direct contact with patients is everything. Continued success on your journey!

A thought just occurred to me: She did 3 years of Medical School, right? She must be massively in debt. Wowzers. I hope she gets a high paying job.

@mypatrainingvideo Do you think becoming a CNA is good direct patient care work experience before becoming a PA?
