This book touched me emotionally like no other book has done. Its a great story and one of the best books I have read. Would'nt want it to be turned into a film, I think it ruins the imagination when books become films.

i see death as this tall skinny white guy that has jet-black, ear-length hair and wears a long black hooded cloak and stands in the shadows all day (and night). i hope he narrates the movie. they can't have him not be the narrater because he is a huge part of the book.

I just have to say, if Dakota Fanning is cast as Liesel in the movie (if it happens) I will be disappointed. She's everywhere......... and she was in Secret Life of Bees and Coraline, so could we give someone else a try at being in movie adaptations?

I never liked reading. Yeah i would read a book if i had to for school or something, but none of them satified me. That is,untill, i read this book. This book is my absoulute favorite and ever sence then i have been reading like mad trying to find a book half as good as this 1. If a movie came out, i would hope it would be a good 1. Not a knock off that makes fun of this book and germany. I heard it was comming out in 2010. idk if it is true...good job. i loved how the domminos make a nazi sym.

And to quote "The Shadow of the Wind" by Carlos Ruiz Zafón (a book you should try) - that first book that finds they way to your heart is a book you will always return to, no matter how many others that you read.

This is the best book ever. Markus Zusak is now my favorite author after reading I am the Messenger. I never forget about the characters and it is the only book to have truly stuck with me. The movie will be interesting seeing as part of the reason I like the book is that it was written so well. Maybe we don't even see death. Maybe death just talks in the background and watches from afar. The producer of the movie has to stay true to the book though. Great job on this!

yes youre absolutely right! its the little things in the book that hits you. esp rudy, everything about him is so sad because early on you knew how everythings gonna end and afterwards he(death) told us how wonderful and human rudy is, how stupid or genius you know. then the teddy bear... i wish they never make this a film, they can never make it as moving as the book is.

Das Buch hat mich tief bewegt. Auch aus den Erzählungen meiner Oma weiß ich, dass es für das deutsche Volk schier unmöglich war, sich gegen die Nazis zu stellen ohne mit dem eigenen Leben zu bezahlen. my girlfriend who is italian read this entire book to me out load over the course of a few weeks, the fact that she read in english but had an accent really brought this book to life for me. i hope the film can live up to the book, we only have to look at what happened to angels and demons or the da vinci code to see how bad it can go.
