  • Geez, has it REALLY been 9 years???

  • Episode 1 , season 1 which is titled : 33 shows in the very beginning.. Previously... on Battlestar Galactica . Is that from the Pilot episode? if so, what's it called?

  • @Aldiggy2000

    The "previously" scenes are from the 3 hour mini-series that aired 1 year before the Pilot episode.

  • Best guess: Thrace is rogue program that superseded it's bounds, conjuring up a mortal core from what seems to be magic. Who knows?

  • What the hell was Shelley Godfrey...and the last incarnation of Kara Thrace, where did they vanish to?

  • 1) SG-1, BSG

    2) SGU

    3) SGA

  • Does anyone know where they got the music for the fist part of this trailer. It's beautiful.

  • i wonder if the cylons intentionally attacked on Pearl Harbor Day.....

  • Love this frakin show!

  • sunday december 7? LOL, my birthday xD what i precious gift!

  • 'humanity's children are returning home..today.  '

  • 1) Doctor Who

    2) BSG

    3) Fringe

  • 1) FIrefly

    2) BSG

    3) Archer

  • @1:46 is that a laser beam coming from the viper??

  • @TheVertigoWarr Colored tracer rounds.

  • adama makes the best speeches.

  • It's dramatic, without being too dramatic, it's a tear jerker with comedy relief, it has you on the edge of your seat, and it's by far the best scifi series i've ever seen.

  • 1) The Wire

    2) BSG

    3) Mad Men/Sopranos

  • People seem to list their 3 favourite shows, I'll jump on the bandwagon.

    1) BSG (naturally)

    2) 1 litre of tears (only drama that has ever made me cry... respect)

    3) The big bang theory ^^ Sheldon is my hero.

  • dear god, this series is still the best series ever in my book.

  • ...why did they use footage form the Xbox game?

  • 1) BSG and Lost (I just CANT pick either)

    2) Breaking Bad

    3) Fringe

  • ive noticed they had different seens like the ships ffighting they cahngeed it to be more reallistic like instead of laser they used bullets.

  • @IshowFUNNYvids Thats footage from the Xbox game

  • god damn I love this show!!!!

  • @heatemysoul I just watched the pilot for this and i have to say i found it so damn boring and tedious i fast forwarded through it. Cheap, low budget and utterly boring. Boring Battles would have been a better name. If the makers wanted to make something interesting on low budget they should have filmed all the actors having a crap on the toilet and left it at that really. Total dross.

  • @WorldTributes lol it does take time to get into the story! carry on watching, and u get dragged in. i pretty much had to force my mate to watch up to the second season thn she just fell in love!

  • @jacktheincredible01 In the past if a new series did not pretty much take off from the start it would never last for a second season anyway. Is the first season as bad as the pilot is? Star Trek they really flogged like a dead horse i noticed the Enterprise series was scrapped. Space 1999 is another series that could be revamped or made into a big budget film.

  • @WorldTributes yeah the first season is way better . . . the mini-series i have to admit is soooo slow! and thts coming from a uber fan(even started facebook group lol), thts only because its just about setting up characters, wen it comes to the Pegasus story arc in season 2 u will be hooked!

    watch this . . . .

    /watch?v=FIWU47jSA4w&feature=related

    just to show how epic it does come! . . . though a warning the end of last season may be epic let dwn.

  • @jacktheincredible01 To be honest i don't think i can be bothered with it i am reading comments elsewhere that the series itself is no good. I am going to collect the original Battlestar Galactica on dvd instead. That is the real deal.

  • @jacktheincredible01 i got season 1 for Christmas, im hooked. lol and yeah, the miniseries was long as hell... lol

  • Comment removed

  • Best show ever, so say we all

  • Älska nö skön serie..........

  • Stargate series Vs Battlestar Galactica

    Winner???

    what you think?

  • @AffonsoMorais Stargate. The BSG finale, much like the Lost one, just destroyed the series as a saga. 'God dunnit' is possibly the worst cop out from a science fiction writer imaginable.

  • @01000001011100100111

    That and they destroyed all of their technology and therefore removed any way of waring future generations of their mistakes like enslaving the Cylons, If you haven't read about and learned from history, you will repeat it.

  • FRAK u all !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 1: Battlestar Galactica

    2: Supernatural

    3:Dexter

  • greatest show i've ever seen..

    Caprica is a nice spinoff of cource.. But galactica just set new standards for tv drama.

  • best show ever, I have no idea why they only decided on 4 seasons.

  • Best tv show ever made!!!!!

  • The best show ever created is The Wire imo, which, unfortunately, too many people have not seen. BSG is definitely up there too.

  • @cardiac19 They don't fraked up nothing, the show ended amazingly

  • Ya they did. Just like they did with Fire Fly they started frakin with the producers and decided that they didn't want a winning tv show. It was the producers and writers that saved the series. If you watch the last two seasons again that is why they seem rushed in the story line. They knew that Scifi was going to cancel the show and they only had so long to wrap it all up.

  • firefly? I'm assuming you mean the show by Joss Whedon? If that's the case, you should know that that was a Fox show. Fox cancelled it. Sci Fi only aired the unaired episodes. They had nothing to do with the production. So... SciFi didn't fraked it up :P

  • The re-imagined BSG is the greatest show ever created. Wonderful Story, Acting & Music.

    1) BSG (re-imagined series)

    2) LOST

    3) Dexter

  • @reelstreetlight game of thrones ;)

  • @reelstreetlight

    "2) LOST"

    I stopped reading there, pathetic...

  • @reelstreetlight ...dude stfu, LOST??? really, cmon dont be brainless, yeh it was a great show but wayyyy to many plot holes to be crediable imo. should not be mentioned in same sentance as BSG.

  • This seriously was one of the best shows on television.

  • did Universal green light Larsen's project? it's said they're in talks.

  • Larsen's project? what is that

  • Flash News!!! Bryan Singer is going to direct the big screen version of Battlestar Galatica for Universal Pictures!!!!

  • Yeah but it's going to be based on the original series. Call me a bad fan but I was never that into BSG: TOS so I'm not sure if I'll be interested. Although Bryan Singer is a good director so, it may be good. :-/

  • I only watched (And obsessed) over battlestar galactica because I thought (and still think) that Tricia Helfer [Number 6] is THE sex. :)

  • Glen Larson will be the producer and writer.Stu Phillips had been told by Glen to be ready to do the music.

  • No Number Six, No Kara Thrace, no Bill Adama, no Tigh... Nah, there won't be anything interesting to watch.

  • I see. I dont have an idea about that. Did i offend you? Sorry.

  • Nope, just BSG made by Ronald D. Moore was much, much better than TOS. :)

  • Yup. The RDM's BSG and TOS are on opposite ends of the scale.

  • He isnt that good of a director. I would prefer to see the BSG series people do the movie. Ronald D Moore for writer. The team that made the news series would do an awesome job I am sure.

  • Why did you say that Bryan Singer is not a good director? Have you seen Superman Returns? What do you think of it? What do you think of Bryan Singer?

  • Wasnt impressed with superman returns. Didnt WOW me. Also I disliked the XMEN movies greatly. Very lame.

  • If you were to choose the director of Superman returns, whom would you choose, and why?

  • What is the big fucking deal. I never gave it any thought. I just felt Bryan Singers super hero movies were rather cheezy and highly commercialized and dependent on special effects.

    Danny Boyle is an amazing director, I bet he wouldve done a better job.

  • There is no big deal. I'm not starting a fight here. True, I was disappointed with Superman returns. And, I agree with your views on the film being cheezy.

  • It might be worth having Cylons if they look like Six

  • YES! I completely agree ("Destory humanity? Of course, anything for you...") well... maybe not EXACTLY like that

  • Cylons were flawed creations, as Bill Adama said, but we are also flawed creations. The sins - flaws - of the fathers visited upon the sons ?

    If we develop sentient or near sentient machines in the future, we'll pass some of our flaws to them. But they won't behave like the Cylons, Terminators, the robots in " I, Robot ", etc.

  • Hopefully after seeing all of those shows, we will not program them with the urge to rebel. ;)

  • They'll do something WORSE - They'll get lawyers & start litigating !!!

    I still think it's strange how they evolved from " toasters " to " skin jobs " in over 50 years. They must've used human genetic material & melded it with their electro - mechanical systems.

  • Just a thought... computers of today are the result of 50 years of human development (roughly). Imagine what advanced computers could come up with given 50 years :-) Oh and they can work a full 24 hour dat as well since they don't need sleep ;-)

  • yeah, but they can't develop skin - job bodies that are completely lifelike, & they can't reason like we can....... YET.

    If they develop one that looks like Tricia Helfer / Number Six, complete with glowing spine, I'll be REALLY curious. ;-)

    Oh, BTW, they have a computer program / " virtual friend " that dreams during its down time.

  • The final five gave them the technology for skin jobs and resurrection, right?

  • Yep. According to what I've heard about Caprica, the skin - jobs must have come

    1st, created by Daniel Graystone, then the toasters. I may be off the mark.

  • I am still a fan of the original and The Second Coming made by Richard Hatch.

  • Wheel of Time. History repeats itself. History works in circles. There is a cycle of events which takes as long as 3,000 years or 200,000 years for each cycle. Human civilization progresses to the point of creating life, and there is a big holocaust - Armageddon type war. Repeat. Eventually the correct events will occur for the wheel to be broken.

  • bsg is definitivelly the best sci fi tv series

    SO SAY WE ALL

  • I'd go a step further and say it was the best T.V. series EVER!!!!

  • The news that Glen Larson is in talks with Universal Studios about making a Galactica feature film has fans excited.He said it will not be like this version of Ron Moore's.He will stick with the original format.

  • Good luck with that. It ain't gonna be the same since Lorne Greene's dead.

  • Anyone know the song at the beginning half of this vid? Sounds like some variant of the Fanfare for the Common Man or something.

  • One Battlestar against the Cylon Army...

    *nerd tears*

    Will be missed!!!

  • YEAH Batllestar galactica is(was) the best series on tv and it owns sg1 or star trek it even beats lost( lost owns 2 :P)

  • They didn't include the scene where Caprica Six strangles the baby. That was CONTROVERSIAL, even for a " darker, edgier " BSG.

  • That is the one scene in the whole series that really hit me in a negative way. Although my opinion changed after hearing Tricia Helfer's take on it. She viewed the baby-strangling as a mercy killing. Saving it from the horrible nuclear death that would have killed it anyway. It would explain the sad look on her face after she did it.

  • That baby - strangling scene, as troubling as it was, gave the show more of a realistic, edgy feeling. Six could also act perfectly sane at times, or be a self - proclaimed " angel ", then act like a psycho w / Baltar. Makes me wonder if she had m.p.d. ( look it up )

  • Metropolitan police department?

    Lol, I kid. It certainly seems like she has multiple personalities sometimes. Although that might be because there are so many different copies. It's hard to keep 'em straight sometimes. ;)

  • GrahaNificent:

    Yeah, with " many copies " that are individuals - Six, Caprica Six, " Head Six ", Shelly Godfrey, & Gina - their might be some overlap.

    When Sharon heard that she was a Cylon, she nearly had a breakdown. It got hard to tell the players without a SCORECARD !!!

  • My personal feelings on that scene is that the Six kills the baby to save him from suffering so in her mind it was an act of kindness...

  • That seems about right. Six could have a strange perspective on things. 1 instance a sex goddess / nympho / literally a sex machine, then an " angel " of the Cylon God, then a secret agent or soldier type. Sometimes a psychotic who would slap Baltar around.

  • WRONG in this series there are also 11 other colonies but caprica is the biggest and most important

  • IDk if your saying the colonies are living on their own planet or not, but in the newer series they all resided on one planet, it was more realistic, any planet that can support human life would be very rare, and spread apart so wide that the attack on caprica wouldn't even affect the other planets if there is any, which there is not, colonies represented contanents basically, gemeni would be like what we call russia, sagitarin would be england or whoever, you get the picture!

  • Actually, no. They've already clarified that they had terraformed or semi-terraformed multiple planets in the same star system. Separate worlds, not separate continents. You even get views of some of them during the miniseries, series, and 'Razor':

    Aerilon (seen in a photo, copies of which are seen on the wall seen in both Galactica and Colonial One)

    Picon (seen in a flashback during Season 3, Episode 8 "Hero")

    Scorpia: great view of the whole planet, (obviously not Caprica), in "Razor"

  • i love Battlestar !!!5/5

  • He speech was incorrect. He said "God" not GODS as they suppose to be saying.

  • 1:34 WTF how come they don't use that gun anymore and is that a laser?

  • wow just saw the series finally, I didnt know starbuck was a ghost in all of season 4

  • I don't think she was. I think she was just brought back to life to complete her destiny. When that was over, she "moved on." But she was a physical being that everyone could see and touch.

  • On the subject of the 13th cylon - I thought Gada was the 13th cylon (daniel).. remember when Gada told Baltar before his execution that he just hoped people realized who he was? And Ellen said that Daniel was an artist. Gada said he used to draw all the time. Am I onto something?..

  • Nope.

  • nope, The Daniel is Daniel Thrace, Kara "Starbuck" Thrace's father. he was a musical artist that taught her how to play All Along the Watchtower on piano, which is the same song that unites the final five. This is proven when Helo givees starbuck the tape of her father's music. on the cover it says "Daniel Thrace" If Gaeta was a cylon he would have heard the music and wound up in the locker room with the other 5 at the end of season 3.

  • No, the tape did not say Daniel Thrace. And even if Gaeta was the 13th Cylon, Daniel, then he wouldn't have heard the music because he is not one of the Final Five, yet one of their creations. Starbuck is an angel of God and she crashed on Earth after she dove through the maelstrom then she came back as an angel because her role in the story wasn't fulfilled. Without her sacrifice they would've never found the original Earth of the Final Five, which in turn began their way to our Earth.

  • Oh and by the way, RDM officially announced that Daniel is not important and he's actually dead and not Kara's father as we all thought he was. He was killed by Cavil and that was it. I know. It sucks.

  • The cover of the tape says "Dreilide Thrace" not "Daniel Thrace." Plus, Ron Moore personally said that this was not true in his podcast for Islanded in a Stream of Stars.

  • Daniel Graystone is the 13th Cylon...Think about it as you watch "Caprica".

  • Except Daniel Graystone was born years before the cylons were developed on the 12 colonies. The Final Five didn't even arrive at Earth until Daniel Graystone had invented the cylons, so how could he himself be one unless time travel is involved? I would be interested to hear a fleshed-out theory about this.

  • How do we KNOW anything?! Who would've figured Ellen was the 5th? And that Cavil was create in the image of her father? How do we know that ALL the five/six arrived after the initial War with the Centurions? Remember "all this happened before...and will happen again!" Skinjobs(spec. Cavil) have an ironic sense of humor(Ellen made him...he has sex with her...making him lit. a "motherfrakker"). How do we know he didn't keep one Daniel clone alive & wipe his memory thus ensuring the war?

  • Wait...so Cavil kept one Daniel (Graystone) alive, sent him down to Caprica so that Daniel could create the Centurions who would create Cavil? It's a never ending staircase. A paradox. "Caprica" literally takes place 50+ years before Cavil was even born. So how could Cavil create Daniel Graystone if Daniel Graystone indirectly created Cavil?

  • Does any of it really make sense? I mean the 13th tribe were original Cylons who held the secret of resurrection & colonized Earth. An Earth. Then they built their own Centurions who then proceeded to annihilate all but 5 of their Creators(who actually downloaded into new bodies.) And Ellen created Cavil(in the image of her father) & then Daniel. Sure she told Adama & the others it was after the war, but who's to say she was on the level? Plus, Cylons have a habit of recreating loved ones

  • GrahamNificent : Actually the storyline of Caprica takes place 50 years before the FIRST Cyclon war. The recent attack takes place 40 years after the ear ends. How long the war was, nobody knows, but you figure it has to take at least 10 years or more to build such giant ships. It takes that long to build Aircraft Carriers. You figure since the colonists were not fighting each other (that we are aware of), the only reason to build such items of war are for fighting the Cylons. T

  • But Bill Adama is portrayed as a child in the Caprica series. About 10 years old maybe. If you add fifty years to get to the first Cylon War, ten more years for the war to end, and then forty years for the Cylons to attack the colonies again, that would make Commander Adama about 110 years old at the time of the miniseries. I'm pretty sure its 50 years before the SECOND war, but I'll have to do some research. I gotta get this figured out :/

  • He only fought in the last day of the war. He was probably about 20/21. 40 years later he would be in his early 60's

  • Exactly. So Caprica must take place 50 years before the MINISERIES. If it took place 50 years before the FIRST war, and the first war lasted 10 years, Adama would be 110 during the Miniseries. And he's not.

  • No, It's 58 years before the first war, And Adama would not be that old..

  • I'm telling you, 58 years before "the fall" is 58 years before the death of the colonies. Not the first war. Otherwise Adama would indeed be about 110 or 111 years old. The math isn't hard (11 + 58+10+40), and even the press releases about it (and interviews with Ron Moore for that matter) say that it is 58 years before the second war, meaning the miniseries.

  • Doesn't bother me. *shrugs*

  • no the name is coincerdental the series caprica came before the final five arrived at earth and long before the daniels were made and before Cavil was made tho cavil has the body of an old man he is no older then 40 the final five made them in their present form

  • The name is not coincidental. It is indeed William Adama who will later become Admiral Adama. And I looked up when Caprica takes place. It is 50 years "before the events of RDM's Galactica" meaning 50 years before the miniseries, not the first cylon war. And everything else you said I already know. All I am saying is that Daniel Greystone cannot be a cylon because he invented them.

  • i was refering to the name Daniel being coincidental not adama

    -----

    and so everyone knows the original Cylon was in fact a girl a copy of i beleive to be adam's dead sister (she looks human but was in fact an android the centurians came after as the cylon tec was more value being a weapon then a leasure toy

  • tapedog : Only the hybrids are saying, "all this happened before...and will happen again."

    I think it is a reference to the current situation, the one that happened on the Cylon Earth, and on Kobol. It seems they were not too sure why they left there over 2000 years ago. So they are not sure, which leads to wonder why Capricans left their planet and settled on Earth (They left no records- following the story line)

  • Oh yeah, and bout "All of this has happened before, All of this will happen again"...it was first said by Leoben in Season 1's Flesh and Bone, not by a hybrid. The hybrids won't be revealed until Season 3 if I remember correctly.

  • Yes, but there hybrids were around a lot longer than the "skin jobs" so they knew the 5 old Cylons long before the others came into being.

    Thus they would know what is going on a lot better as evident some of the models did not even know who the 5 were.

  • not quite true

    the present hybrids were created by the final five the hybrid you saw on Razor was an original model tho the otehrs like hiom were deactivated as stated by Athena in the same film

    btw the hybrids number designation is Zero ;)

  • youi mean colonials as Caprica was only one of 12 human worlds and their were survivors from all 12

  • aeonbrit :In this series all the 12 of Kobol are living on the same planet. In the original they all lived on different planets.

    Who built the hybrids is not relevant. The point is that they were around long before the "skin jobs" and know what the story is better than most of the other models. As mentioned and known, only a few models knew who the original five were.

  • aeonbrit :In this series all the 12 of Kobol are living on the same planet. In the original they all lived on different planets.

    ~~~~
    you changed what i said to make it look comnpletely diffrant
    plus the Original hybrids where only around for one or two years before the "skin jobs" not a very long time.. con
  • con
    the first hybrid the one that appeared on razor was the first and only just came online as the war ended and was by a flawed and unrealistic model as it was built from humans (its parts were canoblised from humans) and as it was said the original hybrids were scrapped
    really you need to really watch the series and read all the matirial on it i have so i know all there is too know on BSG :D
  • Quote: "youi mean colonials as Caprica was only one of 12 human worlds and their were survivors from all 12 "
    So where are the other 11 worlds?
    The older hybrid you saw on Razor is an original. The 5 made the newer female version. You saw how happy they were when they were around.
  • Caprica shared the same system with the other eleven the system had binary suns so it could easily have 12+ habital worlds
    as you know all 12 worlds were nuked in the cylon attack
    and the quarram of 12 is made up of a reprosentertive of each of the colonial worlds Caprica is often mentioned is because that was a capital world at the time
  • In THIS series there is only ONE world. Caprica.
    In the original there were 12 planets.
  • There were 12 colonies in this series. Caprica was the capital, but there were other colonies.
  • AGAIN: In the mostest plainest language.
    Caprica was the name of the PLANET
  • Yes, and it is one of the twelve COLONIES. Jesus. The series couldn't be more clear.
  • nope, theres 12 in this
  • oh..12 planets..care to point out where they are?
  • yea, it comes up pretty regularly on the show. Picon, geminon, tauron , caprica, sagittaron, thats all i can remember. Caprica was the capital planet and galactica was capricas flagship battlestar during the first war
  • they all share teh same system
  • yes there are 12 planets.. in different systems.. this even backed up by references in the show eg adimral cain talks about how pegasus was docked orbiting scorpion
  • correct she was made to replace the older one tho she is superior to the old one except that she is not cohearant she has all the abilities of the other 12 cylons (in otherwards she can download if her body dies)
  • It's Gaeta, nimrod. And no, you're not onto anything.
  • Where the frak are these Viper scenes coming from?I didn`t see any of these scenes in the Miniseries.Or are that some scenes which hadn`t been finished at the time the trailer was released on SciFi?
  • Nope; from what I've heard, they're actually cut those out from the PS2 video game they made at the same time the miniseries came out that was based on the original series. Talk bout cheap.
  • This is not a SciFi channel promo. Someone else made this.
  • Ummm, yeah, it is a SciFi channel promo...this is a promo that came as part of the promotions for the miniseries all the way back out in 2003 in prep for the premiere in December. I downloaded an original file of this when it first came out and found it on YouTube several months ago. I remember this promo well cause it was what interested me in the (mini)series in the first place...the only fake part are the Vipers shooting lasers, it's copied from the PS2 game released at the time.
  • I don't think so for the following reasons:
    1) No narrator. 2) The SCiFi logo keeps appearing and disappearing. 3) There is no intro narration, "Comning Soon" 4) There is animation from a PS2 game (there are no lasers in this BSG!), and finally there is no label in the shots that say "Coming December xx" or something similar.
  • Talk about not having had time to do the expensive and complex CGI work yet in early for an early promo.
    Jesus.
  • Frak me! Awesome promo!
  • The final cylon is Ellen . . .
    But there was actually 13 cylons instead of 12 that they didn't mention.
    But the 13th was named Daniel and he was termonated long before the cylon war so they don't mintion him.
    But Hellen used to love Daniel. :)
    I saw the episode last night :D
  • Im guessin that its zak adama
  • Nope =D its Kara's dad. watch 'someone to watch over me'
  • R. Daneel Olivaw?
  • Lasers at 1.47! :D
    PEWPEWPEW
  • The final cylon will probably be someone out of our expectation
  • Really? I thought he was just that one.
  • i have never seen this, just finished wtching 4th season on dvd and have ordered this, then wtching all 4 seasons again!
  • they shoot laser beams
  • Oh great, now I gotta watch the Mini series again :P
  • I love when Starbuck punches Tigh out. XD
  • I met Edwards James Olmos 8 years ago in Chicago at a Mexican-American event. I didn't even know it was him at the time! Anyway...this series looks good!
  • wats up with the animations showing Original Series Raiders
  • Because that footage is taken from the Battlestar Galactica game :) Same with the Vipers...
    You can find this trailer on the official Battlestar Galactica game for PS2 and Xbox ^^
  • lol, srsly?
  • Does anyone know if the miniseries is posted to watch?
  • Yes I totally agree. This is such an amazing scifi show!
  • I disagree, the new BSG is complete perfecting. Best acting, best casting, best story and immense production. It's the best series bar none.
  • I agree with mjtopia, the new series is one of the best shows ever created, imo. It has an amazing story, with characters that are flawed and real. It's so well written that most of the time you're conflicted between the cylons and the humans.
  • I have to disagree. This is one of THE best sci fi shows on tv right now. I'm so excited for season four to start in two and one half hours!
  • If you are truly a fan of the original series, then it probably would take more than 3 episodes to adjust to the new one. You will grow to like it if you finish the first season.
