  • Very interesting to say the least:} Wish I could speak as well as you someday. Those years spent in the military only speaking English didn't help:{ Damn! 10 years here and I'm still learning.

    Nice work! I better go to sleep myself before I see the sunlight - or snow like yesterday:}

  • I always get scary & cute mixed up...lol @ I ejeculated : P

  • kawaii = cute

    kowai = scary

    Just remember the first syllable and you'll be alright.

  • Yeah just always forget or have done alot in the past. I'm not imersed, so it makes it hard not using the language all that often...thanks man!

  • ァッヴユウァングタイム。

  • はっ?

  • Hahaha. He said "love you long time" with katakana.

    Yeah, a lot of beginners of Japanese don't understand the whole chiisai tsu concept. They'll get it eventually. :)

  • Yah know I think I've seen footage of an Alaskan Huskie saying I love you, and it sounded sorta like what Chad wrote right there.

    ;-D

  • This was pretty cool. Even though I know the difference, sometimes when listening to native speakers I find it hard to distinguish. Their long consonants and vowels don't seem to be so long...

  • I see you struggling to keep this simple, thanks it's top A explanations~

  • Aye, it was 5 or 6 in the morning. I was struggling to find words that'd help demonstrate the difference.

  • daaaaaaaamn mr. smith is busting out the strip tease..ooh shit!

  • bow chicka wow wow, mister anderson.

  • Shirt off for camera...shirt on for bed...gotcha.

  • Yep this was in between shirts, not too long after i got home from practicing drums.

  • Thank you! The nick pronounced correctly, more info about Aikikai Aikido check my channel ;)

    Great lesson again - i will be following you :P

  • The double constant such as "kk" used in romaji (Hepburn Romaji) means there is a short pause (or interrupt in flow) between the last syllable and the next syllable. As in the video's example "ita" and "itta".

  • いった "said, went, ejaculated" lol

  • I need to find a native speaker and ask if there is kanji that goes with the "ejaculated" one. Many foreigners including me seem to stick 行った on it just because it sounds like the opposite of the English "cum", but there's slightly similar words like 活かす that make me wonder.

  • Thanks for the info.

  • Great info.

  • what about words like kami?

  • What about them?

  • my friend was telling me about kami and said that its pronounce the same way for all the meanings? Is that true? cuz that would be quite confusing.

  • Pronunciation is basically the same for god (神), paper (紙), hair (髪), flavoring (加味), and in certain compound words top (上).

    I couldn't tell you if any of those have different intonation or stress on each syllable. Some homophone groups like "hashi" -- 橋 for bridge and 箸 for chopsticks -- have different intonation or stress on each syllable, and that can change depending on what part of the country you're in.

    Hope I've confused you enough. ;-)

  • yes you've confused me immensely ...XD j/k. I get is now so thanks for the help. It will just take time getting used to words like that I guess.

  • your videos rock.!!

  • 家 ー いいえ etc, etc...

  • Dude! Put some clothes on! LOL!

    Good vid.

  • nice !! thanks for the info!!
