This was pretty cool. Even though I know the difference, sometimes when listening to native speakers I find it hard to distinguish. Their long consonants and vowels don't seem to be so long...
The double constant such as "kk" used in romaji (Hepburn Romaji) means there is a short pause (or interrupt in flow) between the last syllable and the next syllable. As in the video's example "ita" and "itta".
I need to find a native speaker and ask if there is kanji that goes with the "ejaculated" one. Many foreigners including me seem to stick 行った on it just because it sounds like the opposite of the English "cum", but there's slightly similar words like 活かす that make me wonder.
Pronunciation is basically the same for god (神), paper (紙), hair (髪), flavoring (加味), and in certain compound words top (上).
I couldn't tell you if any of those have different intonation or stress on each syllable. Some homophone groups like "hashi" -- 橋 for bridge and 箸 for chopsticks -- have different intonation or stress on each syllable, and that can change depending on what part of the country you're in.

Yah know I think I've seen footage of an Alaskan Huskie saying I love you, and it sounded sorta like what Chad wrote right there.

What about them?
ElevenColors 2 years ago
my friend was telling me about kami and said that its pronounce the same way for all the meanings? Is that true? cuz that would be quite confusing.
