If your Born in America your American, whether you be European American, African American, Asian American, ironic thing is the native Americans still seem to get a rough deal.
@thesabrihanna Ok sure the African Americans who are the descendants of those forcefully brought to America should know the way their ancestors were treated. HOWEVER. They it should not be brought up all the time as if it were the worst mistreatment of human beings ever. Because lets not forget the Native Americans or perhaps the Jews in the Holocaust who had it MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH worse off.
nobody is any race we are all from the same tribe of humans we just set off on diffrent paths.Dont belive the hype and nationalistic veiws we are firstly humans and and our second name is where we live.but this wasnt allways the case because nobody held us a an asset to the federal or banking system.China has more man power that the rest of the worlds othe nations thus = wealth.Goverments trade human numbers as growth and investment and also sell bonds on the productive force of there population
If somebody is constantly rumbling on about being black, white and so on... they have a problem with it. They might be even covered racist. No matter how funny, not caring or subtle they think they might, it's still on their mind Why would that matter anyway? Just let go already
i think its totally ok for BLACK folks 2 u use the N word coz we earnt it. its part of our heritage.
the term african american is coz all black americans originated from africa n came across as slaves so thats heritage 2. as a race black ppl can call themselves wateva the hell they want coz its their heritage. maxi 937 if u think its awkward hunny then dnt hang round black ppl. if ur white n u like being called wite then that all good. no1 but blacks hav the right 2 ssay the Nword
I just have one question. Who in their right sane ming would feel pride and notoriety through the use of derogatory terminology towards themselves and others?
That to me sounds like a lack of identity and personal strife. But simply my opinion and asking what you think. Not speaking in a pompous or defensive tone. Just curious.
@jmlv20 yes but when Africans were brought to America and used as slaves, they were not "American"
Black people have never been treated in America as they are now.
of cause is a wonderful thing, and it's also a bit of a result in how much the world has changed into something positive. but one should not forget the black history where all their ancestors have been through shit, for their grandchildren can be treated like they are today.
It's so funny that people will debate being called black or african american, and still use the n-word like it's ok, when it's not. Even those who aren't black use that word when they shouldn't that's the real issue, not what term is correct black or african american.
Why do black Americans want to be called African Americans, instead of 'blacks'? Why do they have to be so awkward? This guy is actually quite funny btw.
im black and i dont want to be called african american im not from africaim from here im american and im not fully african either. i have irish, african, and majority native american
white= caucasian, yellow=asian, red=native american, black=?????? I never herd in my life someone go "Why do yellow Americans want to be called Asian Americans, instead of 'yellow'? " but people debate the term African American that awkward!!!!
I don't debate it. I'm Black. Not African American for the simple fact I wasn't born in Africa. To me African American is a person that was born in Africa and came to America and became "Americanized".
i tell you what the deal is.. we were called black.. and all of the sudden someone came up with the idea to call us African American... nobody signed for that shit.. i like to call my self black.. wether im african, american, caribean.. i am black.. and most ppl think that we.. we prefer being called 'black' but african american will do too
If it takes a title, or some sort of socially acceptable label for a person or group for that matter, to have a sense of identity than the issue here stems far beyond what we, they, or I call ourselves. Just a thought...
this my people is what you call being racist if you want a great comedian see

If you were born in USA, you are American, that's it, its that simple. Doesn't matter what color you are.
jmlv20 2 years ago 28
Oh, but if only that were true. It's ok, a few thousand more people like yourself and we may yet shake the legacy of racism.
In the meantime, I'm a black American. Feel free to treat me as a fellow american, and not a black person.
