Hi Dave, many thanks for the comment. Yes, the old Yaesu twins are lovely, they work really well. I should really do another video because the shack has changed a little, I have more vintage radio's now HI HI 73 Pete
How has your FT-767GX held up after posting this video last year? How old is it and are you the original owner? A friend, loaded down with too many radios, recently sold me one dirt cheap after the backup battery died. While the radio still works, the memories (clock, etc) won't hold their settings. I've ordered a replacement battery and will have everything back in good working order soon. I expect it to be a nice addition to my shack.
Hi, No, I'm not the original owner but the FT-767GX is still working with no probems at all. My backup battery went and I replaced it but now it's gone again (over five years) I don't know how old my transceiver is. But it's a great radio, I think you will enjoy using it.
You know a radio is old when people don't just say they're not the original owner, but rather emphatically deny being so. There must be an original owner out there, but I've yet to find anyone willing to admit to it. Anyway, it's a nice radio and I do hope to get some enjoyment out of it. It was fairly clean and I've cleaned it up more. Seems to be working well, but waiting to take my General exam before trying anything beyond a dummy load. Lots of nice radios in your video.
Hi Stewartx5, I got my FT-767GX off a friend five to six years ago he had it for around two to three months, so it's been around Hi. Thank you for your kind comment about my radios, I got hold of an FDX-750X 2m transceiver two days ago, it's in excellent condition. I really enjoy collecting and using classic/vintage radio equipment. I hope you have many years of enjoyment using your FT767GX.
Hey nice video i see you have a FRG-7 SWL radio what type of antenna you have hooked up to it i got one as well but it dos not work as good as i herd i dos???
Hi hocsoin, I really like the technical side of radio plus experimenting with home made very low power transmitters and under the right band conditions, talk to other radio hams in literally any part of the globe.
Hi again fanjapanischermusik. That's a very good point hahaha. I like using the DE-1103 because it's portable and fun to use. Plus it's a good all round receiver.
Very nice station I believe that was an FT-736R radio a very nice rig I have the same model always interesting to see other amateur radio stations 73.
Hi Thanks for your comment. No, the main transceiver is an FT-767Gx which is H.F./144/430/ But is does look so much like the FT-736R. I'm going to make a new video of the shack very soon and this time add some commentary which will help, I think. Thanks again for taking the time to post your comment
Hi Mick, Many thanks for the very nice comment. I'm going to make a new video of the station as it's changed a little since this vid was made. Take care Mick, 73 Peter G0OMH
Hi bigants, Thank you for your comments, yes the FRG-7 is in good condition for it's age, so are the FR-50B and FL-50B Rx/Tx I think the FRG-7 is a superb receiver. This is my fist video, so I hope the next one will be a little better. :>) Thanks again for the comment. 73 Peter

Nice set up!!-I guess you have loved radio for decades?
I guess the Pre selector-----picks the band!
The FRG-7 was a winner-----the link between old and new?
onced tuned--------held frequency-pretty good!

Some nice vintage equipment ! In my opinion the old gear sounds much better than the modern dsp bells and whistles black box type !

Hi Blyid1, thank you for your comment. I agree entirely. I have even more vintage equipment now I just love it.

Hi AirSn1per, thanks for the comment.
I use an end fed zepp, which is a little like an end fed wire around 25 feet in length. Have a look at my other FRG-7 vids :-)
HighFlyer186 2 years ago
Ok ill check out the others thanks for the info. on a scale d=from 1-10 how do you think the FRG-7 works???
73's From Nick AKA AirSn1per
AirSn1per 2 years ago
Hi Nick, I'd give the FRG-7 a 9 out of 10, it's a really nice receiver, but some have a problem using it, ie not sure how the preselector works etc.

What is that noise or sound between 0:30 to 0:31? Is it a ghost in the machine?
Sammut81 2 years ago
LOL, No, this is someone at the station just adding some information to the 'automated voice' recording, hence the different voice.
HighFlyer186 2 years ago
way way better than mine, a fantastic first attempt.

what kind of numbers is the voice repeating?
mathieuliem 3 years ago
Aeronautical weather information and format of transmission for each airport includes:
- Station & Time recorded
- Wind speed & direction
- Visibility
- Cloud height in feet
- Temparature & Due Point
- QNH = Air pressure
- NO SIG = No significant change
Hope this helps, Pete :-)
