I accidentaly dipped my 8330 in an open drink in my cup holder while driving, I had basically wrote the phone off for about 3-4 months and started using and older Treo 700 back upI have had for years. I followed your instruction to the tee and my black berry is back in full effect. Great post, thanks for the help.

I did the same thing. Trackball moved around just fine, no pushable button on phone worked though. Never touched water, but I usually have it playing music in the RR when I shower, & I assume the moisture got into the phone. I took er' apart & saw that the menu button got corroded. Alcohol/Q-tip seemed to work thus far. Great for if you're just dieing to have your phone back.

Also, if you go on amazon/ebay or just google keypad membrane, you can buy entire sticker w/new contacts on it.GreatVID!

umm i took mine apart cuz it wasnt working very good .... thought back to old slot car tracks n how we used to clean em with an eraser ... needless to say didnt work then watched this vid tried the alcohol worked like a charm thanks dood

my kepad was non responsive and all i did was set mine on a counter that was wet and it was barely wet at all but the alcohol worked!!!!!!!!!!!

I have to be honest. This is the only real advice for how to fix a water damaged blackberry. I didn't even immerse my Blackberry in water but was talking on the phone while in the jacuzzi . The steam and sweat from my face cause fog to in the screen. Afterwards I couldn't press any buttons but the scroll was working only like this guy describes. It will take some patients, but if you are careful and can find a damn T5 and T6 torx screwdriver than it will be done. I say thats the most annoying.

I never dropped mine in water, but the only thing that happened right before this happened was welding class. Maybe the electromagnetic current screwed up something or maybe it was about to go anyways. Either way I did this fix and it works now thankyou so much! Ive been going through blackberry withdrawals for the month that I had to use my backup env touch.

Awesome, man. This video saved my phone. I used 91% alcohol instead of 50% though, and i accidentally peeled the membrane all the way off, so it was kind of hard to realign, BUT it fixed the problem and is relatively simple.
