We live in an uncertain universe, where you could die tomorrow, lose your job etc. Religion helps those that either don't wish to know, or can't figure out for themselves what is or is not true. They let others explain the bible, or what the voices in their head say... this is what God wants son, and that is their truth. Even though that has failed (demonstrably) every time, people of the faith, out of fear, still believe. It only makes sense when you have enough faith, to think for yourself.

@ultrademigod My theory is that everything is made up of thoughts, the matter we see, our conscience, the senses we feel. God is what makes or creates the thoughts that creates our existence. To say that a brain creates conscience is a leap of faith, since everything is made up of our thoughts. Even the evidence science uses is just a thought created by our conscience. We live in an uncertain universe, where you could die tomorrow, lose your job etc. Religion helps those that either don't wish to know, or can't figure out for themselves what is or is not true. They let others explain the bible, or what the voices in their head say... this is what God wants son, and that is their truth. Even though that has failed (demonstrably) every time, people of the faith, out of fear, still believe. It only makes sense when you have enough faith, to think for yourself.

Secondly, I was that type to ignore Theist's questioning of my lack of "faith" for the better part of my life.
