  • Was the motor swap? And did it cause problems after you put a motor with a computer in it.

  • Used to live there, not anymore.

Sad to say, sold my truck about a year ago. I miss it.

Will have another one in the future.

  • Nice deal you have going on there . I live in Miami and noticed the um tag . I could use some pointers . Do you live in Miami ?

  • what kind of headers are u using

  • @rickse30bmw

    street and performance hotrodlane.cc

  • what kind of motor mounts did you use?

  • i need to know if the original shaft from the 86 fit the new transmission ,and how are the gears of the new trany compare to the old one and what ratio of rear end is on the truck now.I am putting the same motor trany on my 67 chevy truck shortbed.is it faster with the new motor combo.like your work work ,please post me back.

  • @avalanchefun2005

Yes, the og shaft fit, just needed a new ujoint. $ speed tranny is WAY better than old 3spd, night and day.

3.73 posi, and yes, VERY fast.

Sorry to say I sold the truck 2 weeks ago. I'll miss it.

    thx...John

  • did you use a wiring harness from donor truck or is it aftermarket?

  • I got a lot of questions for you about this conversion. How can i contact you other than posting back and forth on here? I just really want input from someone whos done it because some of these forums are all over the place.

  • Did you have to shorten the factory drive shaft to make this converison work or did it work without modification? Also, did you use the factory transmission crossmember and drill additional holes or did that also work. Looking to do the same swap on a 1987 short wheel based silverado. Any knowledge I can gain prior to starting would be helpful.

  • @chevychase84

I did not have to shorten the drive shaft or move tranny xmember. I got lucky, going from 305/th350 to 6.0/4l80e. All I had to do was weld a small extension tab and gusset to the rear of tranny xmember to get the correct mount placement.

    thx

  • I think it's the bad audio on the camera, but it sounds like the valves need a small adjustment. Oh I see you dont have your exhaust done, those noises can sound similar. Looks

    good

  • @MLKJRJR

    ...open exhaust...

  • nice truck! now take off that front plate, welcome to america, we fly american flags here

  • @dsruddell looks like a university of Miami tag to me. It's still technically America. Lol

  • NICE man cant wait to have mines on my 87 monte carlo project

  • is this 6.0 an lq9 or lq4?

how many seconds at the quarter mile? thanks

    kick ass c10

  • @chevy23123

    lq4

    No track time yet...

    thx!

  • @chevy23123

    lq4...not been to track.

  • what wiring harness did you use?

  • @Joshua8336

speartech redid the factory 6.0 harness

  • so you have to install it on top like i have to do in my 1972 blazer

  • so you have to put the air uptop like i have to do on y 1972 blazer

  • did you have to remove your air conditioning pump under the passenger side??

  • @gilbertaz85296

    ya, no ac for now.

  • ya gonna do a 6.0 swap in my 85...but with a 4l60e....who did your ecu and wire harness??,,,then mounts?? thanks cody

  • i have the same setup but i have the electronic throttle body did you swap urs out for a manual throttle body ?

  • No. Mine is out of an 06 2500 express van, it had cable instead of electronic. Used a lokar cable, no problems.

    thx

    John

  • NO mine came from an 06 van, they have cable not electronic. :)

  • hey did you modify the s&p headers are they long tubes or shortys i dont know what will fit !!!

  • I did not have to modify them at all, Fit perfect, just make sure you let them know what tranny you are using. th 4l80e is a little bigger and collectors need to be kicked out a little more than on the 4l60e.

    Good luck.

  • what kind of engine brackets did you use? I'm also planing a 6.0 for my 87c10

  • I used the carshopinc standard ls1 plates. Good luck, you will love it!

  • looks good man, did you make the engine harness yourself. also what motor mounts did you get are they 1" offset or standard. i ask these questions because im swaping a 5.3L in my 82 c-10.

  • It's lookin'/soundin' good.
