if you want any info on playstation or any of the other super-maxi cats or tri's then u should read a book called 'The Race' it is all about the worlds most testiung round the world sailing race. it goes thru the southern ocean which has waves that would make a tsunami proud and that would easily reach around 20m in height on average. winds in the high 80s. and thats knots, no kilometers. it is also were the worlds first wave piercing bow concept was tested on team philips. but it couldnt race..

According to my girlfriend who was onboard... it was gusting up to 50 when they turned around shortly after the footage was taken. Not record breaking conditions. The boat was only doing 27-28 knots in this clip. Obviously going any quicker wouldn't have been...errr, prudent! Still, impressive display of Playstations 'Truckability'.

I was wondering... it was going fast - but no-where near 50kts. Would hate to be the captain responsible for pitch-poling that rig!

Love the gnarly speed and the even bigger balls to even sail that, though I'd hate to see it pitch pole. That would hurt bad.
