wow good acceleration. i just speed runned my 04 sienna today and i was very surprised at the power of the engine. it shifted into 3rd at around 115-120kmh (i think thats around 70mph for our american cousins).

Is that the 2WD model? Because my 1998 Oldsmobile Intrigue takes roughly 9 or 10 seconds to hit 60 and my car is faster than my friends 2007 Sienna AWD Limited with the 3.5 L V6.

this is Fwd but even in AWD they do 0-60 in like 7.4 seconds go look at Car and Drivers website. It will beat a 9-10 second time easily, your friend must have not been really trying or had the 06 with the 3.3L v6 cause the 3.5L is a beast of a motor..

@hause07 Is there anything my friend might be doing or not doing to make his car slower than mine? Because I changed his oil about two weeks ago and the car definitely had the 3.5 L under the hood. And yeah the 3.5 L is a great engine. It sounds great and it pulls hard. I know because I've driven his car.

Maybe he wasn't giving it full throttle cause even with AWD they do 0-60 under 8 seconds easily. Try driving his Sienna and you will see what I mean. They are awesome vans.

@hause07 is there something that he was doing or wasn't doing that could have made his car slower? Because it definitely has the 3.5L V6 which, I agree, is a great motor. It pulls hard and sounds great doing it. Doesn't make sense to me. The Sienna has slightly better power to weight ratio (17.08 vs. 17.4) and the added grip that comes with AWD that I just don't have in my front wheel drive Olds. My wheels spin way too easily.

the 04-06 Sienna's had a 3.3L V6, we had an 04 and it was quick our 07 has the new 3.5L v6 and it hauls serious ass!

i race my 2004 fwd 3.3L V6 sienna, and it performs admirably. mine is also electronically limmited at 180, but thats probably a good thing.

We were looking at the midgrade LE with pwr doors and some other stuff but decided to get the yaris instead

But because gas prices are now low (enough), we get the Yaris. When gas prices go up, we get the Sienna

I like how this van is quick , but it can't beat a Honda Odyssey . We have a 2005 Honda Odyssey , Front Wheel Drive , 3.5L i-VTEC with 255 HP. Just a few days ago , there was a AWD Toyota Sienna also with 266 HP . We were just driving normally , then the sieena pulls up beside us asking to race , so we did . the sienna only did 180 in top gear . Turns out our Odyssey was electronically limited to 220 . that's why if you want more power , buy a Honda Odyssey

Odyssey 8.6 seconds go look at car and driver's website. The Sienna is the fastest minivan. The Odyssey makes 244HP not 255 like they claimed in 05.

thats fast! We used to have a 2004 Mazda MPV which was pretty quick as well. It is smaller than most vans so I think it would beat a lot of them but I'm not sure.

Yeah my friend has an 04 Mazda MPV and its alright but our Sienna blows it off the line. The Mazda handles better but doesn't have more power.

Alright, cool. My parents did like the way it handled better than the other vans they tested. We were going to buy the Sienna but it was much more expensive and even though we liked it better we decided it wasn't worth the extra money.

We love our sienna and it was worth every penny to us.

We already have 48,000 miles on our 07.

We had around 120,000 miles on our 04 MPV. We now have an 09 Pilot. We go skiing a lot and we had gotten stuck a few times on mountain roads so we wanted 4 wheel drive. I guess now you can only get AWD of the XLE Limited siennas and they were too expensive. We would have been paying for a lot of features that we weren't that intested in and didn't really need.

You must be in Canada. Where I am you can get the LE, XLE, or Limited in AWD.

Actually I'm in Massachusetts. But now when I went to the Toyota website I see you can get lower trim levels with AWD. The dealer told us you couldn't. Maybe he meant he only had Limiteds with all wheel drive or maybe he wanted us to buy the Limited. ha ha. We were actually there looking at the Highlander but the 3rd row was so tiny. I like the look of the Highlander a lot better but the Sienna is definitley more practible.

Yeah we had an 04 AWD Sienna but got rid of it because it barely got 15 mpg. Our 07 gets about 19-20in the city and 25-26 on the highway.

Yea, I've got an 07 Sienna as well, the high end trim with navigation. It's ridiculous how quick these vans are! They are faster than most cars on the road. This V6 engine is just an amazing piece of engineering. Good job Toyota on making on surprisingly fast van!

Some years ago my place of employment had rented one of these. We called it "Vanny" with both affection and respect as it turned out to be one hell of a badass vehicle. At one time we had about 11 people crammed inside and the driver missed our turn. Rather than do the sensible thing he pulled an e-brake turn 180 degrees at 25 to 30 mph (or so it seemed at the time), burned out and whipped it into the parking lot he'd driven past. The first of many amazing (-ly stupid) adventures with Vanny.

As an aside, Vanny was a 2007 model Sienna sporting the new 3.5 L engine. Faster than most cars and SUVs on the road, as we found out very quickly. Our last race was with an 07 BMW X5 with the 350 HP V8. The X5 had driver + a little cargo and Vanny had driver + 2 passengers. By the time we gave up a little past 70 mph the X5 had pulled less than 1/2 car length ahead. Moral of the story: if a 350 HP SUV can't smoke it, it's a fast vehicle.

The Sienna is no joke, its a very fast minivan. Its also amazing how quiet they are. You don't hardly hear the engine even at full throttle.

no the 04-06 Sienna has the 3.3L 215 hp engine the 07 and newer Sienna's have the 3.5L with 266 Hp. Had the 3.3L and this 3.5L is a rocket
