  • @vickie676 check out cherokee dot org and click on "language"

  • @vickie676 are you in Michigan?

  • i totaly agree,i am half french & half Cherokee, can some one help me learn the Cherokee language?it is realy important to me to learn this.

  • i have Cherokee blood too.i would love to learn the Cherokee language can some one help me to achieve my goal??

  • Cherokee? I live in Cherokee country ( 2 miles from the Catawba reservation) this guy dresses like an Ogala Sioux.

  • I love my Native Cherokee Blood that runs RED in my veins still today :)

  • What permanently puzzles me is why, to play traditional music, you need modern synth drones in the background. Surely those weren't around in the 1800's....?? Very advanced, these traditional Native Americans!

    ulrichburke

  • I agree. He's wearing a Sioux war bonnet. The Cherokee never wore war bonnets. We never lived in Tipis either.... HOLLYWOOD

  • @Cherokeetrade Too bad their descendants go for the "hollywood" look, dissing their culture for cheap dress. I agree.

  • for anyone that wants to make ignorant spats at people that may look white on outside with heritage shut up... (kolerocks 74 in mind,,,) we all have mixed heritage somewhere in the tree.

  • Please excuse my ignorance but what is the difference between Cherokee and Lakota? Can someone please explain?

  • @25252docjohn Lakota is the proper name for what Europeans call the Sioux tribe. Sioux means snake and was what the Lakota's enemies called them and what the whites heared. Its not so nice to call somebody nick names, right? The Lakots lived as nomads on the plains but the Cherokee tribe were mostly into agreculture and farmed the land living in wellbuilt lodges. Did you know that the Cherokees constructed the first Native American Alphabet? You can google for more information.

  • Can you just shut your eyes and listen to the music??? The answer IS in the Music!! and yes, I am Cherokee.....

  • I got to where I just do NOT care to read comments anymore~ so many haters and "so afraid we are gonna mistake one thing for another thing" types ~ come on ppl ~ give it a break already. If you wanna correct something/someone do it in a polite, considerate way ~ and NOT in a rude and bitter way, please.

  • @shenandoahliberty Thank you very much for your big and interessant answer ! My big problem is that I don't speack good english ! I only understand french !

But I appreciate a lot your answer !

    With all my respect !

  • @nativezone1 Where is the Tsalagi in this, but I guess unega asgaya Tsalagi nigvnhde?a dikanogisdi forgot to mention we are real people, not smokedreams huh?

  • I love cherokee who want to fight me?

  • @sutay1. I'm not saying the music isn't nice. I'm just thinking the Cherokee Nation should have a copyright of their name. Music is international as you say, but good music doesn't have to steal name and looks from somebody else, to be recognized as good. I saw some South Americans perform with the same type of music in the street of a small Swedish town. The music moved me so much that I broke into tears. It was so beautiful! I bought two of their CDs om the spot. But they didn't claim to be C

  • @Letyourlegsspeak Let's hear that CD-s! I'm curious about the music made you cry.

  • @nativezone1

The feathered head-dress is not Cherokee, and most of the costumes do not look distinctly Cherokee. The language of the song I cannot make out.

  • great song.thanks to share with us.

  • God Dayum can you say stereo type.

  • Beautiful! Thank you for posting..

  • I have always felt the Cherokee came from the Inca..

  • I have been a fan of South American Andean music for many years. Now, especially in Europe, they fuse North American tribal images in their costumes and music. It sells cds. They use both North and South American instruments - kenas, flutes, pan flutes. They have to sell cds to make a living. I do not mind the fusion, only the mislabeling, calling it by one tribe, when it is a fusion of many. I think the imagery on this video is compelling. It is not Cherokee; it is a universal human cry.

  • I have mixed Cherokee and European descent and this is not Cherokee.... but even in publicity for native american music and awareness people think if they dont wear Lakota feather (war) bonnett no one notices them.. i saw this happen in UK with Peruvian musicians wearing this on their head... that is atrocious and sad fact... no one recognizes southeast USA tribes anymore....

  • @nubiansunrise I am Incan. People assume I am Spaniard.

  • @nubiansunrise

Do not worry; there are plenty of Cherokee descendants who know that Cherokee did not live in teepees or wear Sioux head feathers and hunt buffalo. More like log cabins and farming.

  • @nubiansunrise shut up all most every white person sayes that there ''CHEROKEE'' witch is complete bull shit.. fuck you you make us natives look bad

  • reki choerka !! god bless you.

  • I can understand the frustration that the Cherokee people feel when seeing someone making money from using a famous name like: "Cherokee". Even I, who is a swede, living in my own country, Sweden, know that the feather bonnet and the tee-pee have nothing to do with the Cherokee tribe. I am quite sure the guy is south american. Probably from Peru. The nature in the pictures looks like that. Yes, the music is nice but the way of selling it is rotten. Let the true Cherokees be the only ones to use

  • @Letyourlegsspeak

have a look at the latest video I uploaded.we live in a world of fusion.me I am from holland.my people play jazz....but we are no negros....and nobodey bothers....music is international.we donot ofend anyone.just enjoy the music.

  • @nativezone1 lol I like your answer above. Love the music anyway - thanks!

  • @uweyvi7 UMM HIM LOL

  • Cherokee did not have the "Plains" style headress nor did they have the Tipi. !!!

  • Nice video...but definitely NOT Cherokee. A little research would have been nice. It seems that some people think our culture is just a commodity to be used anyway they want, and very seldom represented accurately or truthfully. What the hell is this...a national "Let's Play Cherokee" sport?

  • @Witatsois

Agree...but why so angry? I think he´s also native roots and is mixing al a little.

  • @solomunay siyo (hello) my words were not as much in anger as frustration. If you are native, you understand...if you are not, honored lady, I do not have the words to make you understand.

    be well

  • from a mixed blood can you teach me what some thing means I must know

  • Brother, I like the music but our people did not wear war bonnets nor did they live in TP's. That is all Hollywood. Truth should be from both sides. From a mixed blood

  • porke no se pone este tipo inkaidiota ,porke coger una cultura ke no les pertenece,,,,ke horrible,,,vergenza deberian tener,,,,,,

  • Can I buy these songs anywhere? This one especially?

  • beautiful song..Good.

  • Tsi-tsa-la-gi (I am Cherokee). I am insulted with the many frauds calling themselves "Cherokee". This video has absolutely nothing to do with being Cherokee. We did not live in tee pees, the headdress he wears is not what we wore, the landscape is not from my land of my people and I do not hear any Cherokee being spoken. It makes me just ill with all the fakes making money of my people.

  • @weeyasvideos WADO!!!! This is a travesty, and just another example of these FRAUDS who steal our culture! They figure they've already stolen everything else, why not take what little we have left? They feel so free to just keep taking!

  • I think this song is about spirit, what more could you ask for?

  • AMEI!! LINDOOO!!

  • If you guys like this check out my tribute mix titled "The Power of American Natives Tribute". It's part one of three part series on the beauty of native culture and the influences that are what make it so beautiful. Peace out.

  • So beautiful & peaceful

  • Cherokee Men Did Not Wear Long Head Dresses They Normally wore a warbonnets and roachs

  • @xxmaxexstreamxx the men of my people did not wear warbonnets. This was adopted after assimilation to make money. The men of my people, the Cherokee shaved their heads with the exception of a small area in the back of the head. Many wore turbans with a feather. We did not wear warbonnets. That is a stereotypical tv imagery. If you get the chance watch the movie Reel Injuns.
