  • actually that car caught on fire due to a gas leak. The chrysler transmission fluid doesn't catch fire, believe me I've tried. What happens is chrysler has a nylon fuel line that runs over the top of the transmission and most likely the transmission got to hot which the 46-48's do and then a little gas came out and fell on the exhaust and well FIRE!

  • the oil pans tend to rust trough too if you buy one check out the oil pan try to repaint it if you can to prevent it from rusting out

  • Every car has their flaws... just saying.

  • yo nigga its burnin bad... ass wipe

  • your welcome :)

  • just stand there and watch it burn? a bucket of water from the neighberhood or fire ex. would have saved the durango.....what a shame....if it was mine the fire would have been out...no way i could just stand there and watch it burn with the little flames that were under it at first..... but what ever....dam yo it's like on fire man....and don't blame dodge any trans can leak and do this...so dodge bashers your chevy or ford can do this also! but a iq test should be in place here!

  • unfortunately the only way to avoid this is to service your tranny regularly and avoid buying pos cars. There is a reason you can buy these fully loaded with 4x4 under 100k miles for 2900 all day long. sold mine with 75k miles for 3000 it was a 2002. They just are not worth much with that gas guzzeling motor and shotty reliability.

  • @fabjonjon Actually, servicing the Transmission is not the fix, solution, or way to avoid. They designed the transmission (at least in 545FRE) with the transmission vent where it shoots onto the exhaust. Chrysler Engineering SUCKS. I hope everyone reading this NEVER buys a Chrysler, THEY WILL KILL YOU, the CHRYSLER CAR WILL KILL YOU AND YOUR FAMILY and Chrysler will just laugh, and say SUCKKKERR !

  • @TheChryslerHater In my family we have had many Dodge products. 1988 Dodge Ram D250 (385K and still going strong.), 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee (Had little problems but nothing major and ended up saving me and my Mothers life.), 2006 Jeep Commander (90K but too young to know if we will have any problems.), 2004 Dodge Ram (See my Chanel for the full story on that. It sadly had a bad owner before me), 2003 Dodge Caravan (Uncles, he loved it.) and the list goes on; none killed me and I loved them.

  • that's dodge quality, keep driving until you find a lake, then drive into it, that will cool it down real fast, then take it to a dodge dealership and tell them it's under warranty, for transmission leak

  • Dodge put's their transmission vent right where it will vent onto the exhaust! Happened to me in my Jeep Liberty twice. Unhooking the battery would have done nothing. What transmission did you have in that vehicle? I had the 545RFE.

  • Put some motor honey in it, that will fix it right up !

  • that's like every other dodge they just catch on fire

  • i bet you miss that Durango so much lol?

  • this sucks...this happened to me about 2 weeks ago...haha....life is grand!....

  • @maynard696969 what kind of car you had?

  • @Whitecrackertrash 94 ford explorer...

  • @maynard696969 What happened to your vehicle? Same thing? Transmission fluid on fire? Happened to me twice in my Jeep Liberty.

  • @TheChryslerHater .............yeah tranny fluid...fire.......ford explorer lit up....i was coming back home...drove up hill....it was even steep....the engine lit up while i was in it....im just glad it didnt explode!....wow jeep liberty huh....i feel that!....i still believe it....looking back at it

  • Was it making any noises or shifing funny before it did this?
