  • RIP Dusty.. You were a true great. xx

  • Beautiful (song and singer)

  • I cant take the voice that comes out of her. Absolutely unreal. I miss her so badly but am blessed to have these videos. Best female vocalost ever. Makes it look easy. RIP Dear One.

  • F-ing awesome !!

  • What a talent. The four clowns who hit the Dislike Button, no accounting for taste..

  • I can not stop watching this. Dustys "beautiful expressiave" arm movements.

Her Haunting, Sultry Voice. Her Hair.

Dusty is The Best. The Absoloute Best.

    RIP.........God, I Hope Your'e Singing In Heaven.

  • I think this song and her ballads are what | remember most of her. the memphis late sixties stuff was good too, but that get down funky thing was not as good as this stuff to me

  • Dat hair!

  • From her BBC TV series I presume. Great performance as always.

  • Written by brother Tom. What a great song!!!! Dusty does a rocky version here!!! A great soul classic from the golden period of the mid 60's!!!!!

  • a class act all the way. what's this about 3 dislikes, they should see if there benifits cover hearing aids.

  • This is my all time favorite Dusty songs. Powerful and emotional! I get goosebumps every time I hear it. I was lucky enough to be raised by an English mum who had the 45 of this song! I'm 37 and I love songs from this time.

  • awwe I feel so sad she transports me back in time the fab sixties. I think of my mum and gran and friends and boyfriends, a fab voice. xxxxxx

  • How can 3 people dislike this. Absolute tossers

  • Oh what a great song!!! Dusty is a legend!!!

  • This is not the Brenda Lee song - it was written by her brother just for her

  • Everytime I think of her sad death I hear this song. It is so linked with her own tragedy. Sad, sad, sad. Very good singer.

  • Dusty does a great job on this Brenda Lee Hit, but then Dusty never fails.

  • @shilo39 On a greatest hits liner notes Brenda, Dusty and Karen (of the Carpenters;duh) were put together as singers who had something special, (as in God given talent) yet would not accept anything from themselves that was not absolutly perfect. Of course it shows in all of their work.

  • A legend in the making a voice that makes some people's singing today look like nothing....Go on the Dusty...xxx

  • Has there ever been a more glorious specimen of humanity than Dusty Springfield?

  • that voice. my god. its so perfect and it comes out of that mouth. to watch her sing is just a lesson on how to sing the hell out of a fucking song. can't touch dusty. she is unreal. that voice is amazing.

  • I really love this song! Dusty was brilliant and her voice amazing. Thanks for posting

  • Some songs, and this is one of em, could only be sung by Dusty, the harder the range the greater she excelled. Best female pop voice since pop started. Poor old madonna and britney would not have got a look in in the 60's and 70's.

  • IN-FRICKIN-CREDIBLE! What a voice....I'm floored.

  • I Agree About This Video That Dusty Is Irresistible & Knock Out Georgous here!

    Damm, What A Loss!!

  • Dasty was absolutely gorgeous and irresistible woman, especially in this video.

  • The diva of the sixties ...The most talented female singer of a generation ...A musical superstar !

  • Love to you Mary Obrien..kiss.xxx c u soon.xxx

  • This Song Brings Tears But I Can't Stop Watching Dusty, & Listening To

    This Beautiful, Sad Love Song.

Thanks To All Our "Across The Pond" Friends For

Giving Us This Most Gifted Woman!

  • I Love The Pick UP in the First Measure of This Song and So does Dusty!

    One of My Favorite Songs******

    I cant Foget You Dusty.

  • one of her best ,and one of our greatest ever soul singers ,just pure magic, end of -- mick

  • great vioice it is lovely song lilyjohnson 74

  • Wasn't she gorgeous? I grew up with her - being born in 1950 - and loved her music. I listened a lot to her on the radio especially out in Belfast when I was in the Army- and will ALWAYS love that incredible voice. RIP, Dusty and thanks for the brilliant memories.

  • Mother Creator

    ~~ Loves You ~~

  • Definitely my favorite song from Dusty. Really beautiful romantic song.

  • WOW! Dusty will Never be forgotten RIP

  • Beauty.

  • Dusty Springfield is a legend

  • This song still reduces me to tears after all these years... Dusty was a awsome singer..

  • @asboangus So right; see my other posting.

  • Dusty, please come back!!!!

  • Just wonderful. The greatest British female vocalist of the 20th Century

  • @stewmil231 Elkie Brooks is also pretty awesome.

  • I am totally amazed by this beautiful song, he deserts her over and over again.

It is extremely unfortunate that us this phenomenal singer left so soon.

I'm terribly sad that Dusty is no longer with us. Dusty thank you for the beautiful

Songs are eternal. You'll be forever in my heart.

  • Beautifull Song!

    5*

    Amazing Voice

  • pure sex on legs

  • Dusty is singing live here and hardly sounds any different from the recorded version. How many could do that today? Classic stuff!

  • Fabulous

  • What a great voice - WOW and I agree completely with Gaydar456 that Dusty is habit forming. I have a double CD of her hits and I play them constantly. They remind me of my youth listening to her in England.

TiMeCapsule - she was NOT making fun of her whole image - it was just the style of the time. Not 'camp' either, we all looked and dressed like that!

  • @Catoperatheater Um, hya, this is not me having a go at you I promise - just that you said that it was me who left that comment about the whole image thing, it was not me - it was somebody who was replying to one of my comments who said that (not saying you must, but if you scroll and look at the comment again then you'll see what I mean)

Sorry bout this, just wanted to clear that up, I love the 60's look!

  • @TiMeCapsule123

Sorry about the confusion - I must have been in a hurry and not looked closely enough. Go Big Hair, haha.

  • We should treasure performances like this shown on 60's TV - because what do we have now ?

  • Comment removed

  • Warning--Dusty may be habit forming. View with caution. Do not exceed recommended dosage unless directed by your doctor.

  • I wish I was her husband, what a woman, god bless Dusty

  • wish I was her husband, what a gift to the world, god bless

  • I just realised... she's singing this LIVE... It's not a lip-synch...

  • @shmuli9 she always sang live on her UK shows :-)

  • @tecdessus There was ONE episode when she quite obviously lip-synched on "Top of the Pops" in 1964. In fact, it was to this song and "24 Hours from Tulsa". There was this bizarre comptetition for the watchers of the show to tell whose speeded-up version of "24 Hours" was being played, hers or Gene Pitney's. And she didn't just lip-synch in this instance; she lip-synched VERY badly. It's on video/DVD and one might beable to find it on YouTube...

  • @shmuli9 I know haha! I've seen that clip with the competition - Dusty said in interviews that she HATED lip-syncing, loved performing live - but HATED recording sessions - and in many documentaries about her people who worked with her in recording seesions said that she was a total perfectionist, but that's why her songs sound so good!! : )

  • @TiMeCapsule123 Her rather extravagant hand motions and her hair/"panda-makeup" makes her totally camp. (That means "she was making fun" of her whole image, and the women that copied her)

  • She certainly could sing! Even more than most British singers, Dusty was QUITE soulful... (seriously, think about it: British singers ALL sing more from the heart than do American or Canadian singers... Elton John, Eric Clapton, Shirley Bassey, Lisa Stansfield, and the list goes on and on)

  • Please God, give Dusty back!

  • we're all still swooning

  • The greatest!!

  • Dusty sang from the soul..R.I.P

  • Do you want to know why dusty is my favorit singer? . Just push play to find out.

  • @belltocher hahahaha, that's corny but I'm gonna steal that phrase from you. Seriously though, she needs no crazy props or cleavage to grab your attention.

  • how many artists today can sing this well live? not many me thinks

  • 50 years ago there were no pop shows on TV. On a Saturday night Arthur Haynes Comedy Show always had a Pop Star on the guest spot. Me and my mates always went for a pint in the only pub in our area when the Guest spot was on.Especially if it was Dusty!!! Oh how we swooned!!! (We did,nt know then!!!!)

  • Wonderful Lady,Wonderful Song. Sorely missed

  • No lip-syncing here Dusty's doing it live-wonderful!

  • This is such a great song. She sings it divinely.

  • Magic. Just pure magic. How can her performances get better each time I watch them?

  • she just moves -whoa!

  • Pity those bluesey piano chords are drowned out by the brass section - but this remains one of the best preserved renderings of this song live by "Our Lady".....

  • Magic song magic talent magic woman, miss you heaps!

  • Look at the way she moves and breathes, look at the smiles, feel the pure energy she exudes, the emotion is wonderful, if only we could go back!

  • @kenthedog13

    Oh how I miss her!

  • @PTTOO2 we can't, but we can hope!

  • this is absolutely stunning, i would have loved to see her sing `your hurting kind of love` on these live bbc tv shows, that song is an absolute soul classic but maybe she was put off by the fact it didnt do well in the charts when it was first released in early 1965.

i know there was a lot of great groups and great songs in the mid 60`s but god only knows how it wasnt a massive hit.

  • what a voice, what a woman! God bless you Dusty

  • She is and always will be my fav singer. If you don't understand why, whatch this video.

    Wow,thanks for posting.

  • This is pure magic. Listen to the intro, it gives me goose bumps.

  • It's hard to believe she stood only 5'2" when she was such a giant talent. My absolute favorite lady of song.

  • i think i figured out what she said..... "damn bobby pin..."

  • Have you noticed she had all the right hand moves to emphasize her wonderful singing talent. The whole package was there in it's complete form. The big hair, the black eye liner, the clothes. Long Live Dusty!!!!

  • Haunting. That voice. Sends chills.

  • @oakcfloyd .....there are so many times in that song that Dustys emotional rising crescendo sends major chivers down your spine.....and all done apparently so effortlessly. For me personally, quite possibly "more chills down the back moments" than any other song she ever does!!

  • @woody7075 Fellow Dusty-fan - I agree. And this is a live performance! Look at her cough to clear her thoat before she begins. And I think she comes in late in 'waiting and wondering why...' but recovers seamlessly. This is my third favourite Dusty song after Going Back and Colouring book. It is followed by You Don't Have to Say.

  • @Oldtinear Probably on a monthly basis I rate the 5 songs of Dustys that impact me the most. To evaluate them I rate them out of 100.......and the top 5 on a particular day would be 98 or 99/100.......and todays 5 will have a different composition than what I FELT a week ago; Whats it gonna be; How can I be sure; Stay a While; YDHTSYLM; Everyday I have to cry some.

I'll see what I FEEL this time next week!

My point is many, many of her songs can move into 98 or 99 rating at a given time!!

  • Well I was def born this side of the 80s . 1987 to b exact. And I adore her ever since I discovered her music. In fact last Saturday I went n saw a musical based on her life simply called. DUSTY- The original pop diva ! Right here in Melbourne Australia.

It was the best show I ever saw. So much better than Andrew loyd webers much hyped but outdated CATS. For triple the price !!!

    Viva la Dusty !!!

  • @DilRo ........Where did you see it?........at the theatre in St Kilda - saw it advertised in the paper but unable to get along. Fortunate to go to the major production opening back 4 years ago. SENSATIONAL!!

  • "Every day I have to cry some"....for THE GREATEST - Dusty

Us longtime time fans are thrilled to see affecionados born this side of 1980 turning on to the incomparable Dusty

  • She didn't just sing this song, she owns it. Dusty is a true force of nature, an original the likes of which will not come our way again.

  • @BlondBeehive Basketballer Magic Johnson said it about fellow great Larry Bird: "There will never....ever.....ever........ be another Larry Bird"

And that statement goes EXACTLY for the incomparable Dusty Springfield

  • ....this song is growing on me.....I can just about hit those low notes if i try singing it.....but dustys voice can go anywhere it wants to so easily.....

  • I'm old enought to a fan of hers all the way back to when she sang with her brother Tom (in the Springfields/Silver Threads and Golden Needles). "Losing You" is the top favorite of mine and this live vocal blows away the record! What an amazing, effortless, dynamic performance.! By the way the way, you'll notice she isn't wearing a headset and lip-syching to a puny, double-tracked pre-recordewd vocal. NOBODY can really sing anymore, because everybody can sing--Thank You

  • I swear she pulled a hair grip out of her hair and threw it! What a song, what a performance : )

  • I can imagined the Kray brothers in the audience watching and digging this

  • One of my favorites of hers.

    The best of Blue-eyed-soul.

  • Dusty's voice is amazing. I've just recently discovered her. Wow, can't believe I missed her during the 60's and 70's. I guess I was too much enamored with Karen Carpenter, whom I think has one of the best female voices ever heard; but Dusty makes me re-think that now. Thank you, Dusty.

  • i think this is one of the most inspirational songs i have ever heard. so classic '60s. dusty one of th coolest cats ever.

  • i think i'm in love.

  • I've been away from watching Dusty's video's for a few weeks. Now watching again I'm all choked up; my heart is racing and missing her so much after all these years. She was super talented, NO ONE can top her vocal range. She was one gorgeous woman RIP Dusty. WE, YOUR FANS, DO MIND LOSING YOU :(

  • lovely song from a lovely lady, sad your gone, but remembering you on your birthday, you broke a million mens hearts when it came out you were gay, bet the girls were happy. god bless dusty xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

  • remembering you on this day, your birthday, you were gorgeous in your hey day, you were no1 with you dont have to say you love me when i left school, a lovely lady with a grand voice, missing you dusty xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

  • Brilliant song, beilliant singer, brilliant era. Don`t make them like this anymore. Words with meaning ,

  • I love this woman, she is my Idol since I was 13 and IM 30,PEOPLE CHECK MY PAGE TO SEE WHAT I MEAN........

  • scary hair, is it a wig?

  • Fantastic

  • My favourite Dusty track ever!!!!Gives me the chills!!!xxxx

  • Now that's talent.....period.

  • One of my fave dusty songs. I could watch and listen to her all day - true talent. Love ya dusty xxx

  • This is a real singer,real talent

  • I love her voice. She was an Angel.

  • There are still good artists about, don't all go getting too old farty on all of us. I'm quite old now, I loved Dusty, still do, despite dyke status, it was one of those loves. I miss her, I really do. Dusty, Marie, you touched my life

  • Despite dyke status? Could you be more of a fucking asshole?

  • @Spassbremse123 :You oversensitive fuckwit. I was trying to point out that I admired, perjaps loved, her as a person rather than fancying her cos that possibly would have been a waste of time wouldn't it? I grew up with Dusty Springfield, have all of her recordings and some get played at least weekly. Now get back to the sewer where you belong.

  • @anthonydansullivan : Because fancying singers / celebrities, that you will never ever meet isn't always a waste of time, regardless of their sexuality??

  • I wish we had such artists in a 21st century...

  • It never ceases to amaze me how beautiful the sets are from those days compared to the videos of today. Dusty looks so gorgeous & the set is so simple yet so lovely. Of course she makes it great w/ her voice & stage presence. I love this song so much! I never tire hearing her sing & seeing her in these amazing shows we are so blessed to have. I miss you Dusty. I wish you were here but if you can't be then please be in peace & know that you are loved. God Bless You! Thanks for posting this! *)*

  • My #1 fav Dusty song.

  • fjhfjk djdko did

  • It's so good that i'm speechless. I'm out of speech.

  • You see at thye beginning she knows this is one of people's faves, you see her smiling along,..............one of my fave songs of this great lady.....

  • Da VOICE that reaches hearts,thats Dusty's

  • I've been listening to a lot of Dusty this holiday. I know from interviews that Dusty had said her singing technique was all wrong from the point of view of vocal coaches. But when you hear "The Voice" in all of its natural beauty, what could be better? She had a great, great gift and she shared it with us.

  • A REAL STAR, RIGHT HERE. THX.

  • ...diana ross (the big star at the time ) couldn't hold a light to dusty's voice...

  • There is only one Dusty

  • God bless this voice

Dusty be in heaven,we miss you daily. R.I.P.

  • I was trying to think which was my favourite Dusty song - and it is impossible to say, they are all so magically, emotionally charged.I just cannot see enough of this lady that exuded such talent,my favourite female singer by far- bless her !.

  • what a great singer and lady...your music will live on forever..we love you dusty , you bring back some lovely memories of when l was young...!!!!

  • class.

  • Does anyone else know that Dusty's brother "Tom" also wrote hit songs for 'The Seekers', I'll be a 'Dusty' fan as long as It's possible, including this life and any other, have you heard her sing in German?...awesome. Ray.

  • No-one will ever come close to you Dusty, I'm so glad I grew up with your music.

R.I.P lass, Love & the greatest of respects

    Ray ♥

  • Nice to see there's someone else who needs a DDD - a Daily Dose of Dusty! Great taste, arfur!

  • True golden age of singing! Young singers should find some sort of inspiration here: pathos, expression, color, shading of expression and simply class! Great lady! Her singing was so natural. She still is a blessing. Sing to the angels, Dusty, they'll rejoice in heaven, in a better world.

  • Drool

  • I was going to say that I could happily crank up the 'tube and watch videos of this beautiful, talented and enigmatic lady all night - then I realised that actually, I often do!

  • The more I watch this lady, the more I fall in love with her. She was amazingly talented.

  • no one can sing like this again, i love this period off music FANTASTIC

  • ....she has it all...! sterling performance...!
