Getting hit in the side can hurt, as well as take a lot of energy out of ya. Lots of players throw body punches, especially in fights where their opponent has them tied up pretty good.

Ok so maybe your not 5 but u clearly dont play hockey. There is no "protective gear" that protects your mid section. You uppers (shoulder pads) may go to about mid chest your hockey pants (breezers) cover just above your waist, give or take a few inches. everything between there, is very susceptible to getting hit. Hence the reason you dont see players block shots with their mid section. Fact is, if you get hit in that area hard, it doesn't feel good. But clearly u dont understand so Im done.

No, I play triple A Major Midget hockey, I block shots with whatever I can, sometimes my mid-section. My shoulder pads cover my chest and my stomach, and my pants come up to protect my kidneys, my mid-section is basically covered.

Granted everyone can agree he should have taken it off if he could (which is hard to say if he had time) but thats beyond the point. What part of White's vast fighting history would lead you to believe he would have "just killed him"? Hope you caught the sarcasm. His only other fight against Kovalchuk. Thats a good resume hes got. With it being that large one can only assume Clutterbuck is lucky to be alive.

With that being said in my first post... White must want to punch visors. Seeing as he initiated the fight against a player who wears a visor, then didn't show any disregard for himself when trying to punch Clutt. So if you ask me, not only did White not care that Clutt had a visor on, he might actually like punching them, seeing his only other fight was with another player whom wears a visor, Kovalchuk.

or more importantly, he shouldnt have ripped off whites helmets when neither of them were even getting punched...especially when he wears a visor and white doesnt.

that also wasnt initiated, it was a spur of the moment fight between 2 non fighters, and kovalchuks fight was the same, although it was kovalchuk going after white.
