I have had an Xbox break on me before, but it was a refurb. It was a good one, connected to XBL and everything, but it died. No RRoD here, though, just freezing. Jasper models, like the one I traded my old Xbox in for and am now using, don't seem to have this problem. They run at a much lower temperature and consume less power.

My only real problem with the survey is that it took information from too few people to accurately confirm the "death" rate of consoles. Each have owners in the tens of millions, and 5000 people to represent these millions seems quite foolish. Pass the 1 million contributor mark, and I'll be fine, in a case like this.

The 360 has about the same failure rate as the PS3 has now. I used to have the old arcade and it broke down on me four times. Then I was going to get a PS3 but they were sold out so I got an Elite instead and later I borrowed my brother PS3 so now I have both and the Elite haven't failed once and I've had it for abou a year now.
